This is an amazing summary of the ideas of Hannah Arendt. She was one of the intellectual giants of the 20th century, and who has reemerged in the popular political discourse in the 21st century. With the rise of populism cutting across conventional political ideologies, and the resultant political polarisation, Arendt's focus on civic and political engagement in public spaces beyond the confines of any political ism, is resonating quite well.

Mam, you said about Plato that he talked about the ways of preventing the Revolution, but as per my knowledge, Plato never talked about the Revolution, although he wanted the orderliness in Greek City state.
Instead of Plato, I have read that Aristotle had given the means to confine the Revolution for which he gave the "inequality" as a major reason behind the occurrence of Revolution !
    Please ponder over it !
You can check, which you have said : 32:27 onwards !
Very interesting lecture ! Thanks for this !

      Hi,
Here so yes in UPSC syllabus you do read about Aristotle and his methods to avoid revolution. Here when the reference is made to Plato it is in context of post formation of republic when the means of strict education, use of various analogies etc are used as a means to curb any form of dissent/ revolution against the rule of PK which is why Popper refers to him as an enemy of open society. The revolutionary turns to prevention of any further change to ensure of the PK :)
Hope you were able to understand the context of the said statement in context of Arendt and her emphasis on power and action now.

Yeah, I've Got your point !
      Thank You!
