  • Why I Don't Like The Cancer Warrior Title And What I Think Suits Better!
I finally went to see a counsellor about everything I just went through, and it was actually really useful. She helped me see that I used masks to help me cope with everything. It made me see how unhelpful the Cancer Warrior title really is. It is now hitting me afterwards and if I hadn't felt like I had to hold it all together so tightly through my cancer journey, then maybe it wouldn't have hit me so hard now! This goes against some of my other videos I know, but not I have some distance from it, I'm gaining more perspective!
Yes, cancer is difficult, but you shouldn't feel like you are fighting and have to be tough and show no weakness. It takes away from how you are truly feeling. It means you can't immerse yourself and truly accept the present moment, because you almost aren't allowed to. You aren't fighting it, you aren't battling through, you are being treated for an illness and doing the best you can with the situation. The Warrior branding almost distances you from what is really happening, but maybe that is a good thing. I never embraced the warrior title.
What saddens me most is when someone passes away from cancer and people say she lost her battle or lost her fight with cancer. It makes it sound like it was her fault for not fighting hard enough or something. It wasn't her fault, she would have done everything in her power to pull through. People should be encouraged and supported through it all. It is a very delicate balance and it is not easy all round, but I just don't think this Warrior title fits.
To me I see myself as less of a warrior and more of a QUEEN! Holding my chin up and picking my way through an awful situation with as much grace and dignity as possible. Admired yet you know she has a tough job to do. A Queen title shines a different light on you and makes people want to look after you in a different way, instead of goading you on into battle. It says “Respect me, Im going through a very tough time but Im rising to the occasion!” Don't you agree?
Hold your heads high, set that crown straight and demand the best! You deserve it!
How do you feel about the Warrior title?

Dear dear lady, I’ve been devouring all your videos because you’ve giving me so much hope and courage and I thank you so much! I am recently diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma left breast and in lymph nodes (her2 positive, estrogen positive, progesterone negative). You helped me when I got my Picc line in. Your voice was with me as I laid there trusting the nurse to take care of the procedure. I had my first CHEMO 3 days ago.
I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate your help beyond measure.
You will always be in my thoughts.
Bless you and all here on your channel and to those facing all the challenges life throws at us.
    Much love...🌸🐇

I don’t think or feel like a warrior and I don’t think I'm brave but as time goes on, I feel proud of myself. At the beginning of this cancer journey, I didn’t think I could survive all the gruelling treatment but I did it and that has probably made me a stronger person. You are so right, counselling has been such a help. Xx

Not really being called a "warrior" but everyone keeps saying I am the strongest woman they know and I can do this. Sometimes though, I feel like I want to b weak but feel like I have to put on a show to b what they think I am. Yes, I am very strong but I want to have my moments too. First chemo tomorrow and I AM freaking out!!! Thanks for being there Louisa!!!!!
