My income is extremely limited but I will find a way to make a donation to this amazing hospital. My only wish is that there was an adult hospital like Children's Mercy. So much love, hope and kindness!
My daughter and I underwent fetal surgery last year after our Spina Bifida diagnosis! Very cool to see. Our little girl is doing amazing. I'll never be able to thank our daughters doctors enough.
My younger brother (now 20) has the pectoral sunken chest as well. His isn’t affecting anything thankfully. We have always called it his cereal bowl because he used to put cereal in it when he was younger. 😊
These children are facing tremendous odds and, sometimes, very risky operations. However, let it be known that these hero doctors and nurses are going to give it two hundred percent. They will do everything in their power to make sure that the patient not only survives but thrives.
29 yrs ago at 6 months pregnant a scan showed my son had hydrops where loads of fluid fill up around lungs n heart it was causing him into heart failure a coil was put through my tummy into his to disperse fluid they took blood from cord as needle was already in n 2 days later found he was downs syndrome but he was alive so didn't care I went every 2 weeks to get a litre of fluid taken out of my womb he was 5 weeks early when born in nic unit for 3 months with. Chest tubes then every feed he was allergic to be had Alot of different surrgries and 9 yrs ago he passed but without the professor's help he would have been still born it's amazing what they can do now even back then ❤
My aunt passed away here 12 27 79 when u was still in my mom's womb! But grandma said they have came a long way since 1979 ! They also took care of my second cousin Tucker !
Very sad that 1 family loses a baby then donates the heart to save a baby, it's a very sad yet also very happy situation, bless both family hope they all can continue on in life's ups and downs.
the doctor can save kids who are sick in the hospital and God see over that and God very happy that kids can be save by the doctor and God can bless that all
She was amazing in how she dealt with each day as it came and went. People will see her beauty and strong attitude, gaining strength from her strength.May God bless you and your family..
With the fetal surgery, I know that’s saving the baby from spina bifida and the family from years of pain with that. But at the same time, I would feel like the big sister might like to have a friend who knows what she’s going through?
Her Mother doesnt show much emotion does she. Shes not very attached it seems. That's so sad. Massive heart defects are tough. Can you imagine going through major heart surgery as a newborn.
Ok I don’t know what you were watching but it seemed like all of the mothers on this episode really loved and cared for and wanted the best for their children. 🤷🏻♀️🙄
I don’t understand why if you have one child with spina bifida, you wouldn’t take every precaution possible to prevent it in another child. Especially when it is as simple as taking folic acid supplements...
Considering the fact that she was willing to undergo the fetal surgical procedure to do everything to prevent her second daughter from having the same complications as her sister, I’m PRETTY SURE she was probably already up on the Folic Acid supplement info and likely taking some already if the doctors felt it would help at all. 🤷🏻♀️🥼
Wonderful hospital. WONDERFUL doctors and nurses. Praise the lord!!
This hospital in itself is a Miracle. Blessings to the members of staff.
This is a channel that needs to go viral instead of the toxic garbage "Recommended" crap youtube gives me
Videos like these remind me how extremely important it is to be an organ donor!!
Jack is my favorite, adorable bubbly lil boy.
Thank you children's mercy hospital for saving lil people's lives. God bless you. ❤️😍😘🏥
Jack is incredibly smart too!
how do you sew a bag of waters ?
I love Jacob's optimism following his surgery. I hope things have continued to go well for him and his family.

That CHAMP program sounds amazing!

My 22 year old son also has it, but it's never bothered him.

That Person who gave there heart to Leah will die a hero because they saved this little girls life
The Fetal surgery was very interesting to see.
In Spain they actually do it without taking the uterus out.
Zia is so beautiful😍😍💕💕💕
We should never question God we must always thank God for what time we have with our children.God knows what he is doing
Cryoblation may pre-vent young people from needing opioids. Post-surgery is when most get addicted to them.

Baseball caps should be banned in hospitals.

Fetal surgery is not a cure, the baby in the womb still has Spina Bifida. I'm sure the girls will have an amazing bond and relationship as a result.
rest in peace Leah :(
Did she die ?
No, she didn't, she got a lot better faster than expected actually
@@leonajervis8393 yeah she did pass away, you can check her fb page by searching her name
@@alliethecat0729 unfortunately, she passed away on August 4 2019.
Leah is now an Angel...
I am sorry to see that Leah is not with us. She is an inspiration to all who deal with birth defects everyday. Leah is incredible.
This Is Nothing But God Period To Open Up A Woman In Her Stomach Is Nothing But God I Give Him All The Glory 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

Taking supplements doesn’t guarantee anything.
Emilie Jerrolds folic acid is directly linked to preventing spina bifida
www.cdc.gov/ncbddd/folicacid/features/folic-acid-helps-prevent-some-birth-defects.html
Taking folic acid cannot guarantee your child will not have Spina Bifida. That is actually an outdated belief.
@Hannah Baldwin Other things besides folic acid causes Spina Bifida.
