I love how you "love" critters. Your cards are so cute. I have the bird set I guess I should get busy and use it. You have motivated me to make a card or two. Thanks for sharing!
Christy, this is such a darling card. I love your color combinations on this card. I love watching your videos and learn so much each time. Thanks for sharing :)
Super CUTE card, Christy! Beautiful Copic coloring, as always, and I love how you created such a charming scene with these birds! I think I 'need' this set :)
Adorable! Love the soft colours that you used & love how well you explain everything. P.S. I just bought the A Tweet Hello' set after seeing your card Christy & can't wait for it to come in the mail :-)
I'm so happy to have enabled! You will love it! Those birds are so sweet and it has such a great variety of sentiments. When you create with it, tag me on Instagram so I can see!
Beautifully coordinated colors ! I'm still new to card-making, and I continue to have a hard time getting my card to come together. I usually choose my image/stamp first, then some patterned paper and card stock ... then I start to fumble. Should I have a lay-out in mind from the start ? Or maybe work from a template ? I don't know why I have such a hard time. And that's why I'm watching videos, lol. Thank you for sharing !
Hi Carrie! First off, welcome to card making! You are going to love this wonderful community! I can't speak for others, but when I come up with a card design, I do exactly as you do. I pick out my images, then the paper, and then I choose a layout. Sometimes I have one in mind, but often, I will turn to card sketches. MFT has great sketch challenges and there are also loads on Pinterest. I have a board of sketches saved so I can choose one quickly. Or sometimes I'll just browse through some of my older cards and pick a layout I haven't done in a while. Once I have all three of those components together, I color my images to match the patterned papers I'm using, and then assemble the card. I hope that helps! Happy crafting!
This card is beyond sweet. LOVE the colors! Oddly enough, the V combo that you used isn't one I have in my collection; gee, I guess I just have to order those (hehe). That will leave me with just 38 colors left that I don't own. I haven't purchased a new color group in over 5 years; I guess I need some sprucing up! (I've been concentrating on purchasing the refills.)
Haha! Well you are way ahead of me, girl! My Copic collection is far from complete, but I'm working on it! I love purple, but I have a really hard time finding a combo that blends well. These Vs have become my favorite. I hate to say it, but I think you need them!
So sweet! Love the purple and yellow together. I have the plaid paper pack too and love the colors. I am a little confused on the metal shim for the dies. If you have a minute, I would appreciate it if you could explain how that works. Thanks!
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! That plaid paper pack is my favorite. A metal shim is a very thin sheet of metal that you can run through your die-cutting machine to help cut out intricate dies like this one. It just makes them pop out more easily. In this case, I wanted to leave the dots there for a textural element so I didn't use a shim and was careful not to touch them so they wouldn't fall out on their own.
Thanks so much Christy! That helps me a lot. I've heard about these shims before but didn't know what they were for. Now I know! I appreciate you taking the time to explain. Looking forward to more of your videos!
Love, love, LOVE the colors on this one Christy! So cute!!
Thank you so much, Marie! That plaid paper is so gorgeous, it was easy to be inspired by it for my color combo. :)
I don't know if it's the lovely spring colors, the blue birds, or the layout, I love your card. So sweet and I love all the layers.
Aw, thank you! I really appreciate that!
