I also didn't realize how low the production numbers were for this set. I think it is really nice, but I don't think I can bring myself to spend that much, especially since in Canada the exchange, shipping, and taxes make it over $200.

I just ordered her today, I love the set and I really love her hair!!! But the price definitely seems a bit steep.
Much appreciated, I have been on the fence, but I keep hearing that 5,900 and it's making me a little nervous. It's the vanity and the accessories that have my attention. I keep beating the same drum, but I wish they had lowered the price or chose a different doll. Sigh, I have to make up my mine fast.
I feel like Mattel's having a hard time with the higher end collectible Barbies! It's like their head is stuck in budget! Don't get me wrong, the fashionistas line is my favorite Barbie line at the moment, and the look dolls are to die for! I really love that vanity! And Barbie even doesn't look that bad. But put together it doesn't feel barbieish. And it should be over the top barbieish for that price point, just saying.
This set is overpriced for a basic barbie doll. I’m sick and tired of Mattel always placing the regular, plain and basic Barbie doll with their sets. I would have preferred the fashion studio by itself with no doll. I do love the vanity. I just wished it was white to match the classic a Barbie Look wardrobe.
I totally agree with your opinion on this set. It is expensive for what you get. I rather spend that kind of money on an Integrity doll cause the quality is better and Integrity accessories are nicer and made like Mattel should be doing their stuff.
I also agree that 3rd parties should be able to make a profit but stop taking advantage of customers. For me Mattel should of made this set with the option of the Barbie coming with your choice of different hair color. I am tired of the blonde barbie. Not all of us are blonde some of us have brown hair. Just saying. Thank you for the review it was very nice to see all the pieces including the cheap plastic purse. I think I will pass cause I really rather just have the vanity.

The doll's face is disappointingly plain for such an elaborate set. The doll turned me off from wanting this set, but your review has inspired me. The vanity is really cool and i can see myself using it often. .. i just don't want that doll.
i don't even want it shipped to my house.
All of the Barbie Style sets are really nice. i just want nothing to do with the dolls. Lol
