I tried nashville tuning on my banjitar, but it wasn't for me. My best first move was putting electric strings on it. Question, how much should the bridge be pushed down into the head by the string tension? I really enjoy your banjitar videos, Greg, they got me going on this instrument!

I’m not really sure of a measurement. I go by the sound. When it sounds good on the high and low end, I stop. Once it’s done, I rarely have to tweak it.

My 6 string banjo I use derring strings which for me made a difference. A booth tone bar also gave it a better sound and ring on top of that capo improved the sound. Dont be frightened to tune it differently DADGAD open d or drop d etc.

@@alastair6356what would the tuning be for just a dropped D?

What type of capo do you use for the banjitar because when I use a normal guitar capo it doesn’t sound right, also can you post more videos of banjitar music tutorials, great video thanks 👍

Also after a few minutes of playing it the top 3 strings start to get this really annoying buzzing sound and the banjo can come out of tune easy
