Connie All your recipes are really GOOD! What makes e everything better than all the videos out there for vegan is the way you SIMPLIFY each recipe and and add each I individual ingredient out to the side clearly so when my printer or whatever isn't working l can just write it down! There are so many young dingbats making videos rattling out everything so fast one misses the point! The point is the love you have in creating the absolute GEMS for us to try. I really love what you do and thank-you Connie so much!
Hi Connie, ok I made your recipe with no oil. I used parchment paper cooked them for 10 minutes on 350. Then turned them over for another 10 minutes. Next I finished your recipe putting them in the liquid. It taste like sausage and has a meaty texture. Tomorrow when my wife’s brother visits us, I’ll see how he likes them. He’s a meat and potato kind of guy. Thanks for the great recipe.
One of the things I love about good youtube cooks like you is that you don't just simply show the demo, you give important related details and actually teach people how to cook! I like how you discuss the history of the food and the possibilities with the ingredients and food, make recommendations, etc. You give a lot of insight! Thank you!
aww thank you :) I love to explain why I do certain things. worst part about cooking is not knowing what u did wrong or was there something else u could have used :)
Ok, glad utube suggested this video. I see it is 6 yrs old but it is right on time for me. THANK YOU. New WFPL eater and been trying to figure what I am gonna do for the holidays. Thanks again.
This is unreal! I can't tell you how amazing this is. Everyone, even if you don't have ALL the ingredients in your cupboard make them right now anyway. I didn't have flax, smoke, red peppercorns to name a few but these are simply stunning. Make them. Make hundreds of them!
This is the best recipe ever! I am so excited I don't know what to do with myself. I used dehydrated portabella mushrooms and veggie chicken cubes for the broth. It made the best "gravy" as it thickened around the sausages! I have tried so many recipes and found nothing worked out without wheat gluten which I do not want to eat. I mean like dumped in the trash FAIL! Adjusting spices, this is the perfect texture for veggie burgers and cocktail meatballs, meatloaf burgers with chopped sauteed veggies inside, etc.. I plan to try them on the grill too!! But for now...drizzled with a little maple OMG! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
I am so happy you like them :D go try my sliders u will be blown away :D same idea just a different taste :) here's the link ua-cam.com/video/4NgxWSXIaxU/v-deo.html
no worries *smilin* thankhz so much... I don't normally use many different herbs n spices but since becoming veGan in 2013, my recalibrated taste buds are liking so many moor difference flavours. I just checked.. thought I was subscribed here.. silly me.. sub'd!!! You have a fantastic dey Connie... and thankhz for all you do.. Wholeness n Love ((-;
Just made these patties for breakfast and OM Goodness they are so much like meat patties it is insane. I did cut back on the some of the hotter spices cos I’m not a fan, but they were still amazing. I made the schnitzel on Friday and had some of that stock left over and used this to cook them in, oh boy so much flavor! Connie you are a genius.
Oh my goodness, I am so happy you did this recipe. I made this myself about 4 years ago and lost my copy of the ingredients. You Rock Connie. I love, absolutely, love you, your mannerisms, the way you work your magic in the kitchen and the recipes. Keep doing your thing and let the world know the goodness of clean eating 😉😂 LOL aka Theresa
This was so good! I was winging it for a few things, but it was perfec, cooked in an air fryer for ten minutes, dunked it in leftover juice from some lentils and greens, and used Worcestershire sauce and amino acids for color and flavor.
The best broth to have on hand is to have a stock pot on your stove where you can add cleaned good parts of vetables you don't use in your recipes and cook them down straining the broth to use. Very nutritious and good flavor.
Hi Connie, Thank you so much for this recipe! You have inspired me to make my own version of this recipe. I want to make your version and cook the oats in the broth as you did but I need to find out how to make mushroom powder from scratch as I can't seem to find it here in Spain. I made a version of your sausages but forgot to actually cook the oats in the broth and I think it would have turned out much better that way. But they didn't turn out bad, I used onion and I cord and apple and put that into the spice mix as well. I just wanted to say thank you so much for your awesome videos and your easygoing style and personality.
It's funny meat eaters say "ewww tofu, tvp, saitan, I would never eat that" and I always point out that most fast food meat contains tvp, most frozen meals contain tvp, so yes they do eat it haha.
Your juvenile, uninformed and sadly narrow-minded comment about "meat-eaters" serves only to display your ignorance. Do you think we eat ONLY meat? LOL
Connie I love your videos, you are so passionate about cooking. Thank you for sharing! I can’t wait to try this one it looks yummy! You are so right about being ahead of the game with storing grains and legumes to make yummy recipes.
This looks delicious! Can't wait to try this recipe. I bet adding a little nondairy milk and GF flour to the mushroom gravy would be great over GF biscuits = sausage, biscuits and gravy! YUM!
OMG these look amazing! Can't wait to make them, and then make tofu scramble and either vegan english muffin or biscuit, for the ultimate vegan breakfast sandwich! Two things I noticed for any who didn't watch the full video, your teaspoon of fennel seeds is actually 1/2 Tablespoon, and it looks like the teaspoon of ground coriander at 10:04 is missing from the written ingredients list :)
yes sorry about that I did post this in the comments ****************As for the fennel. I wrote 1 teasp. said 1 teasp. but I did put 1/2 tbsp. Please add the 1/2 unless u want less of it thank you and sorry for that error!! and thank you guys for pointing that out to me!!! also note that I left out the coriander in the list of ingredients that you see on the left size of the screen. But I did add 1 teasp. of coriander to the dish. Thank you guys sorry for the mishap!
Connie your cooking has enabled me to get through covid without missing restaurants @ all (except for the work haha)!!! So grateful to you for sharing !
I gotta tr these this weekend!! I hope I like them, I am tired of that prepackaged mess, it isn't that good. I am a new vegan so I an just learning new things to cook. And for someone that LOVES to cook, your channel is awesome for that!!!
fantastic good for you for making a great choice on veganism :D I am sure u will love these :D I love the paddies even cold the day after yum! And thank you so much!
My absolute favorite vegan cooking channel!!!Your recipes are absolutely incredible. It is very clear that you are an artist as it shows in your attention to detail and ability to create such realistic flavor profiles and textures. THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing your gift with us!!! ☮️💗🇮🇹
Not nitpicking, just addressing an apparent oversight: you put ground coriander in the food processor mixture but, did not list it in the ingredients on screen. I watch your excellent, informative videos as a source of cooking inspiration, and your personality is therapeutic in several ways. I have subscribed to your channel for both reasons.
I make a good meatloaf style burger with this recipe using 1 T poultry seasoning or sage and 1 T of Italian seasoning use tomato sauce any thing tomato works spaghetti sauce or paste with water 1 t salt, onion powder and garlic powder and 2 cups of oats. I mix and add water or sauce to make a thick dough and fry then simmer about 5 minutes. Be creative. Make it your way.
Thank you for your fantastic recipes, Connie! Highly recommend the Zyliss Garlic press. I've had mine for nearly 20 years. You can put your entire garlic clove in it inclusive the skin and it comes out just wonderful plus cleans very easy. Love, love, live it. 🥰🥰🥰
Some people like to look at their bill and think buying so many ingredients is expensive. But actually when you break down the costs by ounce it tends to be a lot cheaper than it seems. Most of these ingredients you get in bulk. It's really amazing and best of all healthy. Plus, you know what you're putting in. No extra weird stuff. Lol.
I'm excited and can't wait to try your recipe. Thank you very much. I'm also fascinated with the world war cooking you mentioned. Where did you stumble upon this bit of history? I'd like to read about it as well. Very interesting.
thank you! I remember watching a video on it. But yes there was a shortage of meat during that time. so people got creative and made due with what they had. You will be surprised when u try this recipe :)
These are awesome!!!! We make a huge batch of these all at once and they freeze wonderfully! They taste great and are easy to re heat. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe!
I can't wait to make this! So excited to try. What/where is the recipe for your caribbean spice mix? Does anyone else know? I'm thinking it may be on another of her videos. SO much good stuff! Thank you.
I made some turkey flavor burgers with oats they came out fantastic and my husband loved them. I cooked my oats first in both then seasoned the oats and added some flaxseed gel and peat protein then made patties and fried them. They were nice and firm and delicious.
Connie, thanks so much for a gluten free recipe. I can't eat gluten and this looks so delicious. I will try this one this weekend. If I had not seen you making it, I would never have believed it was made with oats. I'm sure my honey will love these.
Connie I made these twice now.second time I doubled the recipe.made half into patties and half into links.they r to die for.taste just like sausage.cant believe it is made of oatmeal.you are a total genius.i love you and your accent.only thing is I can't have any kind of fat.so I didn't use it.but it still turned out awesome.i eat only plant based.keep up the good work.
Hey Connie, have you ever tried making sausage gravy with this, for biscuits and gravy? I just found out that I'm allergic to dairy, and biscuits and gravy is one of the things I'd love to learn to do without dairy.
hi Connie just wanted to tell you I love your recipes I have a question are we able to make this recipe without oil because I don't use oil for cooking at all and then fry it in my air fryer thank you in advance
Hi Connie, I am so thrilled to have found your youtube channel. We don't eat meat for years but trying now to transition to becoming vegan. Love to listen to you while cooking :) We are located "Just around the corner" from you. I hope I can take a lot of ideas to use them in our Bed and Breakfast. Thanks for all the inspiring prepping and cooking you do. And please DON'T STOP explaining and talking us through your videos !!! Greetings from L'Orignal ! Shirley
..... no quite the opposite ..... I really love to listen to you and the explanations you give to your prep-work and the ingredients ... keep doing what you are doing THANKS!!! (Y)
I just made these!!! They are wonderful...I would suggest to the person first trying these to go half on the salt and lighter on the heat. Very good this is the best vegan sausage I ever ate.
Connie,I've made these many times before,I love them and so does my family . You've mentioned in the video that you were thinking of wrapping them up and steaming them. Have you tried it yet?
These look wonderful. Thanks for sharing. I made the WWII recipe years ago and didn't like them. I'm sure I'll like these; all your spices, etc. will make the difference. If you say they are good, they are good.:)
thanks Emily :) I love spice u know what they say...Add a little spice to your life hehehe :D I surely do that lol we love them :D I have to make some mild ones for my grandkids lol. they would say to me ...too spicy nonna
Wondering why you don't let the food processor do the mixing work for you... When I make UnMeatballs now, I make them all the way in the food processor, I only use the high speed at first when I want to chop things up some, then afterwards I let it go real slow. It mixes everything, incl. the wheat gluten, in nicely, but texture stays the same. Saves your joints a lot (which is very important to me, because of severe joint problems). I was thinking of maybe trying to make some sausage patties or burgers now, so I had to go check your take on them - Thanks a lot! 😊 But I may add some gluten to them, really like, uh, love, my gluten and the meaty texture it adds! 😂 PS! i have made some adjustments to my original UnMeatball recipe, I can send it to you, if you want me to... 😊
Beautiful job connie!!! Forget Giada! You def should have your own show! Questions...did you leave out coriander in recipe list? Per your fabulous recipe for vegan brisket, could you or would you use instant coffee and cacao for dark color in this sausage or would that taste bad? Also have you made this without the Italian herbs you put in last or are they a must have? What are those Italian herbs you are using here? Thank you....p.s. I love you even change things up while putting things together!!!! ...lezlie h-b
Yes I for got to write it good catch!!! I will make a note and pin in in the comments. But I don't think the corriander will make that much of a difference if u do leave it out. Yes it does add more flavor but there are so many in the dish that u won't notice it. But I will make a note!! Thank you for catching that
Can you smell them cooking? I have them in the mushroom sauce now. I am fairly new to your channel, and I wanted to take the time to give you a big virtual hug, and Thank You for helping this 66 year old newbie learn how to cook delicious vegan food. Have a Blessed Day, and stay safe.
Connie, fantastic recipe. I am thrilled as well as Dr. Tracy. Hey you forgot to write in the coriander on your recipe. Maybe you can add it? Not sure if that's possible. Also I think next time I"ll leave off the Italian herbs at the end because it was overly spicy for my family. I don't think the recipe needs it.
Yes I did pin it to the top that I left that out there r two things I forgot. One is the amount of fennel. So thank you and yes feel free to change it up enjoy :)
Great recipe find! I’m always looking for variations on vegan gluten free sausage recipes…😊 Can’t wait to try it! I have all the ingredients too, so that’s going to be easy peasy! 😁👍🏽 I know what you mean about the garlic press, I’ve purchased so many expensive ones and none are amazing, the spikes are never sharp enough to push the entire thing through… so annoying. LOL
Wow! Any idea if the saturated fat content? For people who have maintain a very low level for health reasons, like under 8-10gms of sat fat in total per day?
Connie, I am confused. Is not the vital wheat gluten flour...gluten? So how can the recipe be gluten free? Thankfully I do not have that allergy, but it got me thinking as to what the difference is. I love your recipes, please keep them coming!
Do you have a cookbook and if so, does it include calories for recipes? I just recently found you when I was looking for vegan cheese...it all sounds good and I will try these.
A long long time ago I saw your channel and what you were making for food and it looked really good. It said rawsome kitchen and I thought it meant that you were a raw vegan so I stayed away. One day this week I clicked on something that looked very good and I realized that you do cook! A wonderful realization for me and my tummy. :-) very happy holidays to you and your family. 🎄🎅🎄
Greetings friend , I am looking forward to trying this recipe . One question what is in your Caribbean spice and garlic recipe ? My husband has just been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and Diabetes so I am looking into alternative and healthier options . Thank you ♡
I just made my 1st batch of sausages, they dissolved in broth,, completely. I'm thinking of condensing them making a meatloaf. They smell amazing!! Any pointers on making them hold together
So, I was able to save the sausage,, I just add 1/2 cup of instant oats, 2 more Tb of egg substitute to all of it,, including broth, came out with 10 beautiful pattys
Connie's RAWsome kitchen, I think they were probably too "crumbly" still, when I put them in to fry, also I think that I possibly used too much oil to fry them,, I wished I could post a photo of them
Dear Connie, I tried the breakfast sausages and not sure what I did wrong, but while simmering they fall apart. They were good until I added the broth.
I threw my garlic press out years ago, hated cleaning it. INstead I got a microplane grater. The real great thing about that, is you don't have to peel the close, you just start grating, the goodness will be on the far side of the grater, the peel on your side! And it is so easy to clean! My no1 kitchen gadget (I have two now, one fine and one more coarse for parmesan etc - may get more, they are laser cut and super sharp/effective)! You can find them on eBay...
Hi Connie, We love your videos! Have 1 question. How long do you simmer in the mushroom broth? Either we missed it or it didn't make it in the instructions. Thanks
Connie
All your recipes are really GOOD! I really love what you do and thank-you Connie so much!
you really made my day!!! thank you so much I really need this
Hi Connie, ok I made your recipe with no oil.
I will have to try the oil free too :D glad it worked out!! Yes they do taste just like sausage yummm :D TY!
How long did you simmer the patties in the broth??
One of the things I love about good youtube cooks like you is that you don't just simply show the demo, you give important related details and actually teach people how to cook! I like how you discuss the history of the food and the possibilities with the ingredients and food, make recommendations, etc. You give a lot of insight! Thank you!
aww thank you :) I love to explain why I do certain things. worst part about cooking is not knowing what u did wrong or was there something else u could have used :)
Very true! This could save so much food from being tossed into the trash too :)
😃
1st time I've watched your videos and I loved this one...I have 3 boxes of yummy oats so I'll make my first batch later.

Make them. Make hundreds of them!
so glad u liked them :D
Ha, ha, that's funny. I'll have to try these. Thanks for sharing.
Agreed. Hundreds in the freezer for brunches

What is included in the Caribbean mixture

Just made these patties for breakfast and OM Goodness they are so much like meat patties it is insane. I did cut back on the some of the hotter spices cos I’m not a fan, but they were still amazing. I made the schnitzel on Friday and had some of that stock left over and used this to cook them in, oh boy so much flavor! Connie you are a genius.
happy you love them :D thank you!

ur absolutely right!!!
not to mention the antibiotics and other chemicals injected into the animals to fatten them up in order to make a profit!
I love tvp. 👍
Thank you Maria :D
These were absolutely delicious!!! This is definitely going to be a go to in My house Thanks Connie

Awww so happy you enjoyed them ❤ my favorite too. Check out my sliders u will love those. Fun for the summer
Hi! Do you have any suggestions on baking these? Love your recipes! Thanks!
Hello! Thank you so much for this. I was wondering, can I use different seasonings and make these into hamburger patties?

Hey Connie, have you ever tried making sausage gravy with this, for biscuits and gravy? I just found out that I'm allergic to dairy, and biscuits and gravy is one of the things I'd love to learn to do without dairy.
3:42, there are 16 tablespoons in a cup, so half a cup plus one tablespoon would also yield 9 tablespoons. 😘
Wow, very nice, ... what ingenuity. Would have loved to see what the texture was like.
trust me it's good :d I use the same idea and make sliders :D made a bunch for the kids for New years :D
Hello Connie, I made these breakfast sausages this morning, and they were delish. The mushroom 🍄 gravy is the best! Thank you
so glad u liked them :D
Great video. Cant wait to try. Love the history lesson in it too. Really interesting..i wondered origins of these ideas

ur very welcome :)
I wonder if you can add beet juice to make it more of a red brown color
yes u can :) I have made some like that
I just made these!!! They are wonderful...I would suggest to the person first trying these to go half on the salt and lighter on the heat. Very good this is the best vegan sausage I ever ate.
glad u like them
can you put the recipes in the descriptions? I so want to try some of yours but cant find the recipes... these look so good!
I will try my best and thank you
I love you Mrs. Connie ❤

Connie,I've made these many times before,I love them and so does my family . You've mentioned in the video that you were thinking of wrapping them up and steaming them. Have you tried it yet?

Really nice Connie. I have been making mine with Quiona and red beans. I also like to add liquid smoke.🌝
Sounds yummy:)
These look wonderful. Thanks for sharing. I made the WWII recipe years ago and didn't like them. I'm sure I'll like these; all your spices, etc. will make the difference. If you say they are good, they are good.:)

How have I been vegan for four years and only JUST found your channel?! Thanks for the amazing content 😌
aww thank you Sari :D glad to meet you!!
Sari Shryack 3 years here and I thought the same exact thing lol
Made her vegan sausages and they are amazing!
habbit lol but I do try to use it now and then :) yes I would love to try! have u tried my meatballs??
OM i love this recipe, im so grateful for your video's. Do you share the ingredients for the Caribbean spice mix.
Yes I do! yes I do I have one on youtube. here u go ua-cam.com/video/vexwJNQWQAs/v-deo.html
Thank you for catching that
Wow, thank you so very much Connie. I just finished eating the sausage. It REALLY was like the real thing. So happy I found your channel.

Thank you once again my Vegan 🌱 Goddess😘... they look delicious!!! 😋

I am speachless ! Connie you are amazing. How long do you cook them in the broth?
thank you Kalley :) 30 min :D
I appreciate your style of teaching. I always learn from you.❤️🙏🏼
I appreciate that thank you so much!!!
Hi Connie
What type of pans are you using. Thanks and thanks for all the great content
I use cast-iron pans. and also the rock :) and I also have a huge set of stainless steal I got when I got married:D
66 years young :D Have a wonderful day and congrats on your new vegan life
Wonderful! Amazing! Do you think I can use the broth instead of the water to mix the oats to make them even more flavorful?
yes for sure :)
I know what I’m makin for Christmas morning now;) Thankyou Connie! You always get me re-inspired
these r good :) and thank you! maybe with some french toast :D?? ua-cam.com/video/ZbS1PAyuzsM/v-deo.html
Great recipe find! I’m always looking for variations on vegan gluten free sausage recipes…😊
Can’t wait to try it! I have all the ingredients too, so that’s going to be easy peasy! 😁👍🏽
I know what you mean about the garlic press, I’ve purchased so many expensive ones and none are amazing, the spikes are never sharp enough to push the entire thing through… so annoying. LOL
lol true! drives me crazy. Let me know how u like it, check my videos I do have more gluten free recpies. Sausages too
Oh my goodness...this looks AH-MAZING. I am so trying this and soon. Thanks for all the great recipes and ideas.

Wow! Any idea if the saturated fat content? For people who have maintain a very low level for health reasons, like under 8-10gms of sat fat in total per day?
This woman is a God-send

aww thank you D.A.!!!
Thank you so very much for this!! I'm new to vegan eating and am putting together a few recipes that I can use. This will surely be one of them!!
ur so very welcome
This looks wonderful! Can't wait to try
let me know when you do
Just the hint about the mushroom powder was worth it for me!
thank you!! :D
Connie, I am confused. Is not the vital wheat gluten flour...gluten? So how can the recipe be gluten free? Thankfully I do not have that allergy, but it got me thinking as to what the difference is. I love your recipes, please keep them coming!
this has no gluten :) this one is made with oats
You are amazing! I did your chicken recipe and now will try this. Keep em coming please.
Hope you enjoy
Do you have a cookbook and if so, does it include calories for recipes? I just recently found you when I was looking for vegan cheese...it all sounds good and I will try these.
A long long time ago I saw your channel and what you were making for food and it looked really good. It said rawsome kitchen and I thought it meant that you were a raw vegan so I stayed away. One day this week I clicked on something that looked very good and I realized that you do cook! A wonderful realization for me and my tummy. :-) very happy holidays to you and your family. 🎄🎅🎄
hahahahah But I am RAW :P but the rest of my family love their cooked foods :D Happy New Year to you Elizabeth :)
You made a good video. Thank you, learned a lot!
thank you :)
Greetings friend , I am looking forward to trying this recipe . One question what is in your Caribbean spice and garlic recipe ? My husband has just been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and Diabetes so I am looking into alternative and healthier options . Thank you ♡
Caribbean spice mix ua-cam.com/video/vexwJNQWQAs/v-deo.html

Glad you like them!
Thank u so much I appreciate your healthy recipes 💗 keep them coming 🤗
my pleasure
I just made my 1st batch of sausages, they dissolved in broth,, completely. I'm thinking of condensing them making a meatloaf. They smell amazing!!
Any pointers on making them hold together
did u fry them first?? did u simmer them 2nd??
I did,, I think I may have used too much oil?
So, I was able to save the sausage,, I just add 1/2 cup of instant oats, 2 more Tb of egg substitute to all of it,, including broth, came out with 10 beautiful pattys
glad u were able to save them :) what do u think u did wrong??
Connie's RAWsome kitchen, I think they were probably too "crumbly" still, when I put them in to fry, also I think that I possibly used too much oil to fry them,,
I wished I could post a photo of them
Can't believe how good it taste. I am going to enjoy NY breakfast in the I.
yumm :D yes these r really good :D
Dear Connie, I tried the breakfast sausages and not sure what I did wrong, but while simmering they fall apart. They were good until I added the broth.
That's so funny Connie! Just when I was saying I need a really good garlic press, you mentioned that your breaks in the exact same spot lol.
lmao I know right?? I guess I over handle mine lol
Hi Connie,
We love your videos! Have 1 question. How long do you simmer in the mushroom broth? Either we missed it or it didn't make
it in the instructions.Thanks
here u go ua-cam.com/video/yKNpsB6SYUE/v-deo.html
Connie, I just love you and your videos! One question, how long are the patties simmered in the Broth? Thank You in advance!
thank you ur so sweet :D 20 to 30 min. very low low simmer :D
