The Shimpo mixer/ pug mills are poorly designed. In order for the vacuum process to kick in, the lid must be closed. The hopper only takes at most 50 pounds of clay. These are not for large scale operations at all! Get a Blue-Bird or Venco continuously fed pug mill. The only use I could see for one of these is someone who wants to save money by purchasing raw ingredients and mixing there own clay at spread out intervals.

i bought this one and suddenly stoped vacuming , i tried to contact shimpo and they did answer but not solution has been found whatsoever, a friend of mine bought a petter plugger and she is more than happy and hasnt had any trouble, is a good machine though. but i think the market offers better cheaper things.
