i always dreamin of the day that i hope someday i will gonna have 1 unit of s works rb... due to lack of money, i build a local mountain bike here at philippines and converted it into a gravel bike... i wish i could send a pic of so that you could see it.... that man who always build was my idol and my inspiration on how to build a bike:)
so why fit climbing wheels, but not a climbing frame like the aethos? Feels a bit inconsistent to have a semi-aero frame but the deeper section wheels would give you more of an aero gain in practice...
That's a direct-mount rear derailleur hanger, which is said to provide better shifting due to the beefed up structure that doesn't allow it to flex easily.
Beautiful bike and build but I like the DA discs better then the Hope discs. High wheels 50mm would be my pick. Colour of the frame is stunning. Blue chain is a mistake ;-)

I am an all out aero dude, but I can‘t take my eyes off this build. The shallow wheels, the paint job and the Overall build are just 11/10.

He is replacing it with a direct mount one to get rid of the axle unit. Looks way better, too bad you cannot find them in many stores.

The hanger installation isn't directly related to why the OSPW system was installed. Either one can be installed separately without needing the other.
