Ah TJ. Lived in HK when I was a kid and have many memories. As it was (ahem) a few decades ago, there will of course been many changes, but our family still reminisces about Lion Rock, Ocean Park, Star Ferries, Aberdeen Harbour and so much more. The fish man who would knock on the door once a week, carrying his wares on the classic rod/stave with a basket hanging off each end, he'd fillet your chosen fish on the doorstep, freshly landed that morning. I still know our phone number in Cantonese, that we had when we were there. Good times.
My wife lived in HK for nearly a year so it's on our travel list so she can show me around the area she lived and we can explore more areas together also. Can't wait to make it back to that side of the world again...My taste buds miss it! Have fun and safe travels!👍👍
You went and did it again, another excellent hunger inducing video. Special thanks to Nam for showing us around. As always beautiful and informative thank you.
I was just in Hong Kong in March and so wish that this video had been out then! Oh well, it's such an awesome city that I'll definitely be going back someday and will use this video as a street food guide!
YES!! the siu mai and fish balls are my two favourite skewer thingys when in hong kong. also those noodles at the end are my childhood. man... i miss it
I just love watching your videos and all the yummy foods you eat ,I love the pineapple buns ,the custard tart etc ..I look forward to your videos ..Your always lots of fun ...🥰❤️...xx
aaa I'm going to Hong Kong in May for my intern and I'm super nervous as I'll be there alone. But this video kinda eased my nerves a little and HK seems more enjoyable to me now!! Thank you for this vid :'))
I’ve been seeing that milk cap done to milk tea now a days. Haven’t seen the cheese cap though buttttt ITS AMAZING!! It gives a yummy creamy milky dimension to the bubble teas. It’s soooooo good with taro ❤️❤️❤️
Another awesome video. I have been waiting a while now for the next one and what could be better great food and 2 lovely ladies makes me wish I could join you haha. Keep up the the good work I need my CupofTJ fix haha
I've been waiting for ur video ❤just by the intro I can already tell that tj is tasting foods and drinks that I literally eat everyday like just random foods and drinks to me😂
Hi ya TJ loving your channel and food energy , I am a fish merchant in UK , next time you are in UK I will take you on a superior seafood tour if your up for it ??
Pineapple bun with a slab of butter is nice. But it’s too heavy. A big bun like that will take up way too much space and you need lots of room for the variety of food HK has to offer. For those who don’t know, the top is sweet and slightly crunchy/ flaky. Imagine a Dutch crunch roll with a sweet top. Egg tarts in HK are great but I prefer the Portuguese Egg tarts sold over in Macau. The traditional egg tart is sweet and eggy for the filling. Portuguese egg tarts have a sweeter filling and sugar is burned on the top. It will remind you of a creme brûlée’. Eggettes are very common and one of my favorite street foods when I visit HK. It’s like small round balls that’s taste like waffles. I’m sure the batter is very similar to waffles thus the close taste. I never tried the cold noodles but I’ve heard they Re very tasty. One thing I advise for travelers is take a few days to get acclimated when you visit HK. Cold food sometimes might give non-locals stomach problems. The food is clean, but sensitive stomach tends to happen a lot to travelers when they visit foreign countries. Don’t buy drinks with ice and always drink bottled water just to be on the safe side.
Hey CupofTJ, Try the Stinky Tofu place at around 202 Tung Choi St in Mon Kok. I always thought they are one of the best in HK if not the best. It's been there in the same street stall forever also.
HK has some great food, but I prefer Taiwanese food. Pineapple buns and egg tarts originated from HK, but Taiwan came up with chocolate pineapple buns with milk custard buns. Portuguese style egg tart with raisins. Taiwan just seem to take many traditional food to another level.
Send noods TJ!!! Wonton al dente noods, roast pork with the crunchy skin, some white congee with yao tiao, then sime kfc with that good skin though! 😆😍😁🙂🖤🤘👊
Can Billy a chance to be your friends with you on your favourite UA-cam channel on Hong Kong food tour with your friends in Hong Kong but she lives in uk and Hong Kong as well
