I don't really know if it's a performance thing, but overall it's not really a feature (same with the glass trick) and isn't really intuitive to set up, but I can see it being used more because it works even with the lowest graphics

thats not 100& true. on future lighting model option. roblox does reflect lights and the suroundings in closed spaces

You can use negative reflectance on glass but not on other ones sadly and negative makes it look way more cool

Without transparency, it won't do anything since the GPU is still doing the same calculation, but if you add transparency it will start to lag
