- #flytying #nymph #flytyingjunkie The Heptageniidae are a family of mayflies with around 20 genera and over 500 described species throughout the world. They are referred to as flat-headed mayflies. They are generally small mayflies with three long tails, but some have 2 tails.
The nymphs of the Heptageniids are mainly found in fast-flowing streams, but some species are in still waters. The nymphs have a flattened shape and are usually dark in color. There are species that are herbivores, scavengers, and predators.

Had some issues with the last video.
Came across you by chance in my feed, Seriously impressive absolutely spot on pattern, I’m learning to tie and follow and have learnt a lot from Davie McPhail but now learning a lot from you too so thank you 😊
Thank you for the kind words. Keep spinning the bobbins. ☺️☺️

Nice work! It really looks like a Oliver Edwards´s fly.
Yes... the gill structure and legs are a different spin.
I like the realistic nymphs don’t mind you talking slow, I can understand you better also I am 67 years old and been tying for about three years hopefully our house will be ready by March and start tying again thanks Dave you’re awesome 👍

Nice work buddy. Can you tie some swimming mayfly nymphs for a video?
Thank you. Your wish is my command. I just posted one 😃
Be interesting to see what all you used to tie this. A material list would be a big help as I am hearing impaired and can't hear you describe. Enable CCs please. Thanks for sharing awesome tie.
Thank you. I'll get on it.
I added a material list but for some reason I cant apply CC's.
@@flytyingzonedavehise Thank you Dave, much appreciated. I've just got to tie this awesome fly. Tight lines.

A few times.
What an art.

@@flytyingzonedavehise I've only just discovered this and I never realised it was so detailed. The modeling and sculpting and techniques are amazing. It's an absolute therapeutic pleasure to watch each pattern build up into its unique piece. 👌
