Hello, had two Norton twins. A comment, SS Nortons had two carbs, I am only seeing one. Rev counter drive on the 650 came off at an angle. The vertical take off should be an Atlas. Front brake needs adjusting or new linings. I moved on, ride an SV650S, no vibration at all compared to the Atlas, which had really bad vibration.
One common reason for hard starting of an engine with a magneto is having the 'points' opening too far after maximum magnetic flux. Disregard the recommended points gap, and set them to open immediately after the maximum flux, which can be felt when turning the magneto by hand.
What a beautiful bike.
It would have to be one of the most beautiful bikes made.
'LOVE this model. Nearly same power as the Atlas, but much less vibration.
@@superblackbirdful Lucky you indeed! Your SS looks beautiful! I hope you enjoy the next 40 yrs. with it too!!
One day this kid will love forever this bike!
Its nice to see a lady having the interest in starting the Norton :)
