What I love most about this video is the Audi drivers face when he’s gapping. That must be the smuggest grin that’s top ranking. Had me chuckling. He so wanted to win. I watched it twice.
Very even race. One has got 120 hp more and 400 kilos more so what happened was to be expected. Both cars well tuned not really smoking that bad for that sort of power. And both probably get over 45 mpg if driven sensibly. Best of both worlds.

Team BMW for me, but I am bias, running my own stg2 435d. Pb for me is an 11.7s 1/4. Think Ryan should have just left it in sport+ auto and let the car shift itself. Always got my best times doing this rather than flapping manually. As hard as I try to shift at "peak torque" the software always seems to do better 😅. Great vid Jamie, more diesel races please. Got any oil burning Audi or Merc coupes I can take on?
@@tylerpace7422 it’s got XHP tune and can be tweaked so shift points match peak, always best leaving the auto box doing its thing. He got it right once tbf when he won the test he flopped hence the loss.
We need 3 new categories. Diesel AWD, diesel FWD, diesel rwd. Then we can see the difference in diesel powered cars, when you add then to the crazy list they ain't making an impact on there petrol counterparts. This was a cracking lineup by 2 great engine variance and a lot closer than I thought it would be with the BMW.

I noticed that after the failed manual change up on the beemer, he then reverted to the slower auto shift again on the third standing start. Both proper fast though!
For the average person, a 3ltr a4, 3 or 4 series diesel is a great car for the money. Dfp and egr delete with stage 1 (or higher) and you got very good power for the money. And very good mpg compared to a 3ltr petrol lol
I dont think that audi is as powerful as the guys quoting, the 335d keeps up well, with over 120bhp less power apparently, get it on a Dyno and video it I'd say that's less than 500bhp, Jamie do a video with it on a Dyno bets it's sub 500
Hey bro I got an idea 💡 instead of racing this type car against that type how about racing 2 or 3 of the same cars just tuned by different shops? Then we can dial in the best type tunes for each make and model. And maybe get some champion car/shops that other shops can tune their own cars (same models) and try to beat the 3rd on throne if win 2nd and if win that can race for the champ for that 1st spot etc!?!

Mein 325d Touring macht es in unter 8sek mit weniger Leistung als der Aufi trotz 1770kg ohne Fahrer. Eure 1/4 Meile Zeit des Audis ist ein Tick schneller als meine 1/4 Meile Zeit mit einem BMW X5 30d üppige Ausstattung, Kindersitze und vollen Tank. Auch mit weniger Leistung als der Audi (nur 500PS 1000NM). Sehr sehr qualitative Videos. Weiter so. Top.
Im very surprised at the 100-200kph times, I run 8.5 in my 335d drive that's only stage 2+ ... so still standard turbos, injectors,valve springs and diesel only (no meth or nos) and my 1/4 mile is 11.2 @121mph. think the 435d must be making more like 400hp and needs a re-tune ? I was running faster times then him when I was just stage 1+ so intercooler and map ( dpf still in and working as standard )

That's very impressive although as a fellow BMW motorbike owner (S1000RR) when I see these times, I'm reminded how nuts superbikes are (the S1000RR does it in low 4's).
The last dig race was weird. First one and second one you can see the the bmw gets off the line much faster. And the last one the audi slaps him. Dunno if something went wrong with the bmw or the audi launched different

@salvator-gambino this audi are 2100kg actual weight I been on scales and I have prove, also on this video audi run 515hp 930nm just after dyno, later been tiuned more but this video made very long time ago ;) and as you heard on video bmw run about 450hp ;). Audi with 1600kg same spec would run easy 10s :)
@@AudriusPower There are 2 turbo hybrids and methanol on the Audi even if the weight comes into play the difference in preparation is too big, the BMW gains 1/4 mile to the Vbox so with the same preparation as the Audi a BMW would be ahead even with kilos more

Difference is he has hybrids so peak torque might be upwards the rmp range the auto box usually shifts.
Don't forget it was wet probably at dry conditions it would be a little quicker.
