    Can we all just take a moment to appreciate this man and what he is teaching.....the knowledge he has. My instructor did tours through Africa and the middle east and teaches the same importance on trigger discipline and muscle memory. Truly blessed to have these warriors teaching law enforcement and civilian. God Bless you Sir and Thank you.

    This is amazing. As a current LEO and prior service military, it never ceases to amaze me how much more trained and disciplined our US military special operators are.
    LEOs are severely undertrained and I’m telling you that as a 15 year vet.

    So trigger discipline changes between each weapon system and each one will fire differently depending upon the job it is fulfilling. A lot of these guys are highly trained marksmen and have the trigger discipline that is required for a long gun and when you drill that same weapon for a long time you get used to that same trigger discipline. Slow steady squeeze and slowly releasing and reacquiring target to ensure effects are complete and the target is neutralized/ prepping to adjust fire and drill that target again.

    Around 7:40 you mention cross-dominance. Would it be possible to touch on this, I'm also cross-dominant. When I was younger I was taught to write with my right hand although I wanted to use my left so that became my dominant hand, but my left eye is my dominant eye.. With hunting rifles I've always had a hard time finding my sight, a lot of the time I would just try to shoot with my right eye/right hand creating inconsistencies. Would be interesting to hear your take on this. - much love from Ontario, Canada.

    I see the advantage of speed in shooting as soon as the gun is level in the right situation. My question would be, how would that muscle memory affect someone in a stressed situation who realizes they shouldn't shoot. This would be critical in law enforcement. Will the muscle memory overide the realization not to shoot or will the brain be able to overide muscle memory in that fraction of a second. Think about how often law enforcement has to draw their gun on potential threats that don't require deadly force. It would suck to shoot someone on accident because your muscle memory was programed to shoot as soon as your gun was level if it wasn't necessary.

    • @dusanjezdovic4413
      @dusanjezdovic4413 2 роки тому

      thats a really good question

    • @ToMeTheFool
      @ToMeTheFool 2 роки тому +3

      From the perspective of a novice:
      If you draw and realize you shouldn't shoot, you are in for some legal trouble. LE is a little different, situation dictates. That being said, the class is called Combat Pistol, Low-Light, so this knowledge might be a little more geared towards people patrolling places like Fallujah, as opposed to patrolling Manhattan. Still, I agree with his point on resetting the trigger as soon as you break it

    • @SherwoodPrepper1
      @SherwoodPrepper1 2 роки тому +2

      What you just highlighted is the fact that law enforcement actually presents the gun to target unnecessarily too often. You would do better to remain in true high ready and then present to target only when necessary. You LITERALLY will not lose any time, but you WILL have more situational awareness and better observation of the subject than at police high ready.

    • @Trashman702
      @Trashman702 2 роки тому

      Cops ain’t worried about that shit. They have qualified immunity

    • @TCraig00
      @TCraig00 2 роки тому

      As a nobody who doesn't know jack shit, I will agree this training is not geared for a civilian randomly having to defend themselves. If your finger is already on the trigger during presentation that kinda insinuates you are ready to shoot the threat (just going off basic firearms safety). If you're presenting and not sure if you need to shoot your finger shouldn't be in the trigger well.
      Couple this with most self defense and LEO shooting situations, either you or the target is going to be moving. So you're probably gonna have to maneuver, and acquire the target, before you prep the trigger and take a shot.
