I always loved Stuart Damon as Alan. I always felt bad that they never really allowed Alan to come to terms with Jason's change. I remember watching the episode that day and being so shocked about the change in Jason. I remember at the time, being a 16 year old nerd, how upset I was about them "ruining" Jason Q. He was the golden boy of family. Now at 35, after years of watching GH on and off, I am glad they allowed the character of Jason to grow and change. Earlier I was watching clips of Jason Q and Keesha Ward and she was describing what she liked about Jason Q. One of the words she used to describe Jason Q was gentle. It's funny because years later Sam would used the same word to describe Jason M. People always focus on the differences in Jason Q and Jason M but it's strange how the essence of Jason never really changed. He was caring, gentle, loyal to a fault, somewhat impulsive and singular focused when hurt, and really good at whatever he tried to do. Yes the packaging changed in a major way but the core remained a lot the same.
They took a character with personality and turned him into a stoic borg robot. How is that allowing the character to grow. I like Jason Q. Jason M can take a flying leap.
When he was with those he loved, he was warm, loving, compassionate, and gentle. He would laugh, joke, and be playful. He adopted the robotic character originally to help him cope with his uncontrollable rage. He also used it to keep from interacting with people he did not understand and to hide those feeling he was not supposed to have. It became useful in his job. But it was all a front. Early on he would laugh and joke with Sunny. A magic chicken leg? Jason was not a cold robot. He is a complex multilayered personality.People who see Jason as robotic are just seeing him one level. He still had to relearn the rules of interacting with society. He had impaired cognitive functions. I love the new Jason. He has enough of the old Jason to be recognizable, and enough of the new Jason to be interesting. He has become a complex multi-layered character.
@@usfanlovesminho5085 it was Steve Burton's wish for the character change to stretch and grow his acting abilities! He was getting bored with Jason Quartermaine the well liked rich goody two shoes character and he wanted to work with Maurice Benard so they had to create a convincing reason for Jason Quartermaine to give Sonny Corinthos the time of day.....it was either this change or he was going to walk so and they didn't want to loose the actor so Jason Morgan was created with no intentions of ever bringing Jason Quartermaine back per Steve Burton's request!
Alan loved Jason. Nobody can say he didn't. I wonder what any of us would say once we realized our son had no memory of us, or his life previous to the accident and coma?
ThePatriotgyrl65 I agree. In one evening, his hopes and dream for his son were gone. I don't think any parent would have an easy time accepting this truth. Alan was a great character and loved his sons to a fault. He just never really got over the broken heart of "losing" Jason.
I hate it that they killed Alan off like they did. And now Jason AND AJ are both gone. Let's face it, Jason Quartermaine will never come back. He's always going to be "Jason Morgan" and that really sucks. We Jason Quartermaine fans were ROBBED. ROBBED, I tell ya! LOL. I still haven't quite forgiven GH for destroying the Quatermaines like they did.
ThePatriotgyrl65 impossible situation to be in of course of his loudest critics on the show never had to deal with anything like that so they could run there mouth about everything the Q's did wrong it is what it is. I just wish the Q family could have remained strong inspite of this.
That's exactly why a lot of parents lose their kids by placing too much on them which is why Jason left after the accident they couldn't take him changing and he knew it. But I always liked Alan too he was pretty cool.
Jason old memories from -96 up until now his full memories from the past fully returned 2019 so yes Jason memories of his family fully returned his mom his dad his brother his grandparents his sister and everyone else he remembers everything from his past up until now
UsfanlovesMinho She was always pretty and beautiful. And that’s why everyone loved her, she was kind, strong and beautiful inside with everybody, who meets her at the first time.
Yes, Robin was and still is a beautiful person. When she cares for someone it's for life good, bad or ugly. She might get upset with them but, she still loves them. I wish she would return to GH so her character can get the great ending her and Jason deserves. They deserve to be married, have a child of their own and living a happy life.
Carly didn’t give a crap about Jason. She was fooling around with Tony and AJ and made Jason agree to be Michael’s father, which he did. Then she gave Michael to Sonny. She LOVED Jason.
This was amazing thanks for the post. I'm new to GH can anyone tell me how old Jason is here? When Steve Burton is ready to come back they shy have him get his memory back before the accident. Not remember working with sonny since the new Jason has his old memories that would be kinda weird what do you guys think?
I'm not sure of his exact age - maybe about 21? - but they will never have Jason gain his memory back. It's just not in the cards for the character and wouldn't make much sense. There's too much history as Jason Morgan besides the Quartermaine's aren't really a major part of the show anymore.
I think the show should have Robin and Carly get stranded together in some completely obscure location. Obnoxious hilarity ensues. They find Jason (played by SB) with total Amnesia, so that SB and Billy Miller can both stay on the show!!! GH Runs a DNA test that for some reason KEEPS showing that BOTH men share the exact DNA and are in fact, Jason. Sam loses her mind... Then chooses BM's Jason, freeing up SB's Jason to shamelessly pursue Robin, while Robin develops a protocol that to restore his entire Morgan memories-Again. Except that- NOPE. He gets all the memories, all the way back to Jason Morgan Quartermaine! Oh and just for added measure, Jason should fall back in love with Robin and vice-versa while developing the study.
I've been watching GH for 45years now and I remember everything love the old Jason before the accident.. Love Sonny and Brenda True love no one compares to them.. love Robin and Stone Carlybabes is the worst thing that ever happened in the history of GH 2023 GH needs to get rid of Carlybabes character for good
His eyes were open the whole time. And why in the hell is Alan telling him all that irrelevant crap? "You make me look good"..really? Your son just woke up from a coma and that's the first thing that pops into your head?
laenav I believe this is Drew. He was switched in 96. In theory that would make Billy Miller the real Jason Quatermaine and Steve Burton would be Jason Morgan previously Andrew Frank. What are your thoughts?
This is it! This is the moment we first meet Drew. He doesn't remember Alan because he never knew him. Welcome Drew! Jason has been kidnapped of to the Cassadine island to be trained as Drew was. But only Drew becomes Stone Cold because he was trained from the age of 4. While Jason. His training has only just begun.
I completely agree this is what I have been saying since SB decided to return. This is the best way for the writers to tell it. BM acts more like JQ than SB ever did. Thats why he was willing to fight for ELQ. He connects with Q's on a level SB never did. Everyone is turning on BM to try and force him to accept that he is Drew. But if we examine who BM character is it fits perfectly with JQ. SB is robotic and attracted to Sonny because he was trained to follow orders.

He is Jason Morgan... one who does not like hospitals

The sadness on Allen face when Jason did not know how he was
Stone Cold was born. He looked so creepy sexy cool all at the same time. I mean damn!
