Thanks Thomas all I was purchase acrylic Blanks. Look for blanks that you like and buy them! I make a lot of my own wooden blanks but for me acrylic are easier to buy!
I purchased a pen blank from Exotic Blanks and turned it as I did with this pen. I am not making my own acrylic pen blanks, I did it twice and for me it is a bit easier and less messy and expensive to just buy a few blanks of acrylic. All my wood blanks I get locally though and I do all the glue ups and inlay. Pens are fun
Very interesting pattern with the walnut "V". I guess you could call it a variation of a celtic knot. Have you tried it with four sides? I am not very excited about the speeded up video. I would rather see real time of just parts of the turning if you are concerned about video length. Regardless thank you for sharing. Happy New Year.
Hi Erik, I love that first pen. Same as you I have made lots of Celtic Knot pens. I will copy this design and add a few more chevrons to see what the outcome is like. This is my channel and just posted a video of a workshop pencil with Celtic Knots. I would love your opinion Erik. Cheers, Huw PS Are Silk colours special or would spirit stain work just as well in your opinion? Huw
Hello Huw I do not use spirit stains all the stains I have used are either vegetable dyes or silk dye or soy bassed printer inks! Give them a try and see how spirit stains work!
