The Land Rover is a versatile vehicle that serves various industries, including farming and industrial settings. It acts as a reliable transporter, carrying both men and materials with ease. On construction sites, it is often used to shuttle workers to the canteen, saving them from long and dusty walks. The Land Rover's purposeful and functional design appeals to people of all ages, and its engine is powerful and efficient. With four-wheel drive and multiple speed options, including high and low ratios for different terrains, it can navigate virtually anywhere. Its reliability and capabilities have made it popular with the armed forces, as well as organizations like the Royal Air Force Mountain Rescue Service, where it is utilized in challenging mountainous environments for rescue operations. The Land Rover's robustness and four-wheel drive make it a natural choice for such difficult and dangerous work.
Love the rescue bit...."hurt" airman: offered a tot of brandy and a cigarette....fixed everything back in the `50s.... :)
great to see the land-rover as it was, not the landrover or land rover as they are now.
love land rovers
love how gentlemanly he fired the flare gun at 4:18 lol
Health & Safety meant common sense back then, when you had to use your head and not rely on the Nanny state to protect you.
I love how all the kids are around this guy & he says "Well, jump in & I'll show you why it's not a real car". Ooh those were the days when people were friendly & didn't scream "FUCK OFF" at children
I love the white mudflaps!!
@landroversrs1 oh my word you are so right
The British forces now would not allow at injured man to be carried on a Land Rover now
They have to call the Local Ambalance Service
and thats a fact god knows what happens on ops
60mph hmm....
That is nothing new or surprising. MR will get people to a paved road where we transfer the cas to a road ambulance. If they need treatment in a hurry we'll call air ambulance or where possible RAF SAR to fly them out.
A rattly old Landy is not my transport of choice. By the time you get to a road the cas is begging to be let out.
What i like to see no health and safety shit.
