I was born 88, I started my travel through the gaming world at around 6, but not with nes, I started with amiga and then went over to nes and snes, throw in some atari and a weird old arcade machine.. I love chiptune music and will always do so, even people who have born after the 8bit era will still be able to love that music when they take a look a back at the origins.
if youre old enough to even fully realize what a nes was and what we had to go through to play it then give anamanaguchi some love because not only do they use it but the hacked it and bitched slaped it to work for them now props to '91
Actually I just found out they do have more than one album. The song I was thinking of is called "Video Challenge" on their older album called "Power Supply" The one you have is "blackout city" from "Dawn Metropolis" their newer album. They sound very similar. :-)
@JuggaloKaez216 no WONDER it sounds so similar, i was always wondering who made that awesome music to kick ass to, thanks for making nerdiness looking cool.
Wow, this is weird, I got into these guys pretty late, but not through Scott Pilgrim; a friend of mine went to one of their concerts and recommended that I listen to them. I've been hooked ever since :>
I heard some british band the other day, You Love Her Coz Shes Dead. I heard tons of Chiptune in the front of all the music. I explained it to my friend as Chiptune Electronica, but as i looked up more on the band, i saw a few interviews were they were very negative about being called Chiptune or 8-Bit! it made me turn on the ANAMANAGUCHI and enjoy a band that makes chiptunes so fucking badass. I had 3 mp3s off this album and love every one...im buying the whole album, and playing scott pilgrim
True story: THIS MUSIC IS AWESOME! I HAVE TO TELL SOMEONE ABOUT THIS!!! Later: Hey dude! You like 8-bit music right!?! Acquaintance: um no not really... Me: Oh, um, okay... so see you later? Acquaintance: Yeah see you... I hope this post was as awkward to you as it was to me.
@JoaBelgium There's so many undiscovered chiptune artists it's hard to keep track who's best, because there's a lot of really good ones you've never heard of.
itunes has both albums, you can order there album or be a pirate and get a youtube converter. Itunes it will cost 8 bucks i think for all of dawn metropolis
@SaRoawr erm, their not necessarily an 8 bit band, but the UK electro group Crystal Castles do put a few NES sounds in their songs. Beware their music is a little out there.
does it matter? in the grand scheme of things does it really matter what people watch and wat people like? when where 50 or 100 years dead well it still matter? As a famous songs goes, we are just dust in the wind.
THAT'S why this music feels familiar in the "some part of this was etched into me when I was young and bright and curious" kind of way. Thank you for helping me resolve this. [Deleting...]
@ProjectBlackRose well i think hes talking about the mike tyson punch out part were that guy steels his bike and this reminded him of it so he put it there ,i think
I had this problem once. You gotta blow into the NES.
Blowing on it makes it worse lol. You gotta clean the cartridge with a qutip and alcohol and you game should be working perfectly again
Surprise, surprise, surprise. It's placebo.
Got that right, placebo or not the cartridge is getting blown into!
A band who plays their songs through a Nintendo NES, is undeniably amazing. And that's what Anamanaguchi does.
Bit Trip Runner... I loved that game, but it was so difficult, too. Even leaving the main menu is difficult...because of this music.
The nostalgia, the memories. This is making me cry. . .
Warning: Do not watch this video when you are very tired and supposed to go to sleep. Your eyes will hurt.
I should've listened
Too late
Well, I'm doing just that!
This is some of the most amazing music in the world! To anyone who is into this: spread the word. YOU are the definition of great taste.
Yay for Bit Trip Runner!
@oceangroupgamer2k9 It's chiptune. The music was made via hacked NES. 8-bit era music had no vocals.
omg this is sooooooooo epic, THANK YOU COLLAGE HUMOR FOR OPENING MY EYES
I know right!?! It's insane how long these tunes will play over and over again within your head!!
Oh my gosh, I love these guys so much! I'm gonna see them live tonight! Holy crap, I can't wait! All my dreams!!...
I love songs that have an arcade pixel feel to them, that's literally the only song I listen except for like music made for 3 year olds ._.
OMG...saw these guys live last night! I was in the front row and requested this song...it was so amazing! Best night of my life!!!
This song is the soundtrack to my dreams
When I was young, I bought video game soundtracks, and I was a geek. Nowadays, I listen to the radio, and they play video game music.
Life is good :D
Man, Anamanguchi has their work already done if life was a video game.
They'd be doing all the songs! :D
Literally frying balls. Frying bacon on acid right now.
Makes me wanna bring out the old nintendo or get an emulator and find a game with awesome music
How did this randomly come back to my memories at 4:27 am

Bring back this kind of tunes!!!
if youre old enough to even fully realize what a nes was and what we had to go through to play it then give anamanaguchi some love because not only do they use it but the hacked it and bitched slaped it to work for them now props to '91
It's like someone put on an 8-bit disco for my youth! *man tears* Beautiful!

MY EYES. Good sound but godamnit my eyes are burning
Bit trip fuck yeah!
wow, these guys are ridiculously catchy.
Thanks Doc
Found this band through Bit trip runner. Instantly fell in love
This is the coolest video I've seen on youtube in a while... Awesome.
the animation compliments the song quite well
My mind has been blown into small 8-bit pieces scattered across my floor.
Anamanaguchi is to me what Daft Punk is to the rest of the internet.
Amidst blinding city lights that would turn our brains into jelly, this guy's going for a marathon ride AND poppin' wheelies. With style.
That guy on the bike can really move! Really love this song! GO GO GO!
@gwiz210 The GameBoy Colour was AWESOME! I remember getting my first one when I moved from the Netherlands to Canada!
My ears just exploded raw awesome everywhere...
10 year nostalgia for this 😔
Awesome, and I see the guy riding in bike.
I had this stuck in my head for about 2 monthes.. if it wasn't another song it was this! didn't drive me insane though ;0
@0Banjo0 the end credits of Bit.trip Runner are how I discovered this incredible group...man, that game is worth so much more than $8
@Nakushin I imagine it'll coincide with the release of Scott Pilgrim. Not entirely sure when exactly, although a lot of websites did report it.
this vid... MADE! MY! DAY! i can stop searching i've found the best vid on youtube!
Actually I just found out they do have more than one album.
The song I was thinking of is called "Video Challenge" on their older album called "Power Supply"
The one you have is "blackout city" from "Dawn Metropolis" their newer album. They sound very similar.

Oh my god this is amazing.
I loved the song, never new there was a music video part also!!
Love every part of this. :)
Thanks for reminding me.
@JuggaloKaez216 no WONDER it sounds so similar, i was always wondering who made that awesome music to kick ass to, thanks for making nerdiness looking cool.

This is my absolute favorite thing ever
These are so so so so awesome
I'm seriously glad my friend told me about this band. And I'm equally pissed that another friend never told me they were playing locally again.
This is sooooo trippppyyyy.....!!!!!!! 😳😳😵😟
+All_Games And_More They should've putter epilepsy warning in the beguining lol XD

if i were a games developer I would pay these guys so damn much to have them make music for actual games
badabääääääääääääääähm. This ist what I always wanted to hear!!
I first heard this song in Bit.Trip Runner. It blew my mind.
@JoaBelgium There's so many undiscovered chiptune artists it's hard to keep track who's best, because there's a lot of really good ones you've never heard of.
All these Pilgrim fans, I've been listening to this band since they set out. That means I win.
@drubeast
you are the best troll in the universe, never change
itunes has both albums, you can order there album or be a pirate and get a youtube converter. Itunes it will cost 8 bucks i think for all of dawn metropolis
I am absolutely in love with these guys. All thanks to the Scott Pilgrim game. More chiptunes pls.
@drubeast If you're born ever, you gotta love this!
@SaRoawr erm, their not necessarily an 8 bit band, but the UK electro group Crystal Castles do put a few NES sounds in their songs. Beware their music is a little out there.
I'll admit, ponies linked me to this, but that's not why I stayed. I stayed for the sheer awesomeness.
Every time is Anamanaguchi time. I use it as an alarm to wake up and also as something to listen while I walk.
Drop it down to 8 bit, then overclock it through 8 hyper threaded cores, add audio roller coaster and you get this
the greatest song
Anamanaguchi is the king of chiptune bands. End of discussion.
this is amazing
I am ready!
Love the video.
Bit.Trip Runner is seriously the greatest thing.
and this makes one more band entering my personal hall of awesomenes!
AWESOME
0:31 - 0:37 is the best part! I f**** love this song! It's my ringtone :P
does it matter? in the grand scheme of things does it really matter what people watch and wat people like? when where 50 or 100 years dead well it still matter? As a famous songs goes, we are just dust in the wind.
My favorite Anamanaguchi song evar.
LOL, ever since I heard this in BIT.TRIP Runner, I kept looking for the song.
and now I found it. :p
love there music
Holy shit the nostalgia
Its in Ponies The Antholigy 1 or 2. I can't remember.
THAT'S why this music feels familiar in the "some part of this was etched into me when I was young and bright and curious" kind of way. Thank you for helping me resolve this.

Damn, I don't know what this guy is on but if I went outside on my bike and saw the sky changing colors like that I would freak out
' Mom...I think I broke the computer '
you dont have to be born back then. you just have to purely love games.
I wish the younger generation could play these types of games.
You can't spell epileptic without epic.
@ProjectBlackRose well i think hes talking about the mike tyson punch out part were that guy steels his bike and this reminded him of it so he put it there ,i think
It's finally coming to Rock Band!!! ^^

@@stellarpan5943 Hello from 2020, I'm back again
SO EPIC! IDK how you did it but... EPIC :) Thumbs UP!
@ardeesonic They haven't said. Although, I would imagine it can't be that far off seeing as Scott Pilgrim just came out.
