i think youd want to crush the rocks before roasting them, as it gives a much higher area to oxidise away the sulphide minerals, also its faster that way and only takes up to an hour or so of roasting.

Always examine the whole beaker, mine did a follow the circle crack I couldn't see from side view and top view, I almost missed seeing that on the bottom rim curve. Glad I'm working small experiments practicing for the big day. If I had Golden Antlers, I would say Gold can be a Vampire you have to be close friends with so it doesn't bite.
