    First of all - a huge thanks for the informative, non bs, non self promoting content! And an even bigger thanks for not yelling all the time, which seems to be the UA-cam standard these days.
    I’m currently waiting for both the 14301 and the 14303 to arrive. 01 for me and 03 for my son. 😁
    The plan is to use the 14301 as a project platform for teaching my kids how everything works as they’ve started to show a lot of interest in the technical and mechanical stuff. For starters, we’re swapping the transmitter/receiver to a DumboRC and the esc to a Hobbywing 10BL60 to (hopefully) eliminate the input lag and overall quirkiness of the stock esc/reciever. We’re definitely doing the diffs/drivetrain as well.
    Looking forward to more videos! 🙌🏻

    This is a great helpful video but I have a question about greasing the differentials and other gears, could you use WD40 oil instead of grease? Or am I making a mistake by greasing like this. Please I need an answer

    • @Doeswhatitsays-cc1ce
      @Doeswhatitsays-cc1ce  8 місяців тому +2

      wd40 is not ideal and should not really be used. In the diffs there are small rubber seals, wd40 will eat away at these leading them to fail. silicone based oils should be used for this as they are rubber friendly. A good thing to remember is if it spins use oil and if it rubs use grease. What a lot of RC guys do is make sure that all oils and grease they use are silicone based and therefore safe to use.
      You can get a moly grease as long as it's not petroleum based and is RC friendly or you can use a white lithium grease. Plenty of stuff out there, Google is your best friend on this but I hope I helped out a bit with my answer 👊

      @@TheITP21 Hi buddy, it's fine. Silicone oil in the shocks and the sealed diffs. the oil in the diffs is thicker than the oil that goes in the shocks but it is still a silicone oil. There are loooooads of videos on what thickness oils to use in the shocks and the diffs so look up shock oil, and diff oils. White lithium grease can be used on the gears. Again if you look up RC grease there are plenty of videos on this too. You will learn more doing this than what I can explain here. good luck bud 👊

Alot of the support brace screws have way too much thread lock, it helps to heat up the screw driver tip to break the seal so the screw doesn't strip. My advice to anyone heavily getting into the hobby is to invest in a good set of MIT tools. MJX Shocks also greatly improve with 80wt Oil. I own almost every brand, been in the hobby for 40 years, building and tearing apart cars.

      If you have all this knowledge, start a channel and help people out! Don't let your knowledge go to waste.
      I'm not sure about heating up the end of a screwdriver to loosen the screw, But I have never done it that way, if I found this to difficult I would heat the brace bar the other side of the screw, as we all know metal expands when heated, then I would hold an ice cube on the screw head to cool it, reducing the size of the screw, and releasing the grip of the lock tight. This is my method, but I will try yours next time to see if it works better and let you know the better method so everyone can get them out with ease.
