Fleet guard makes good filter. We use them on our lease and rental trucks class 8 and smaller trucks. FS 1964, ( 7 microns) FS1974 (10 microns). Also never reuse the fuel out of any filter no matter how clean it looks. Glad to see your busy. You know you kinda started like Indiana Jack. Not sure if he still does You tube videos. He had a red Volvo with an ISX 15 with a Eaton 10 speed Manual. He also did power only. Good luck to you. Stay busy and keep the shiny side up and tires rolling.
I’ve heard quite a bit about Indiana Jack. Don’t know if he still has his truck tho.thabks for the info. I bought some extra filters in case I keep running into issues. I’ll have to check out the 1s you mentioned tho. 👍🏻👍🏻
Nope. Had that truck for almost 700k miles. Never once got that for a warning. Had to change those filters at least once between oil changes tho. I’d say it was mostly where I was fueling and additives I may have been putting in for winterizing.
Hey buddy! Great to see you back on channel!! I understand these pump nowdays are getting dirty. I use Seafoam gas and diesel treatment. Its help on everything, tank, filter, injectors, etc. Also I do know DEF help as well, but different story. See you on the next channel and safe stay, buddy
@@DreamInspired no, I get that, just letting you know, it's one of the few things on that truck you don't need to go to volvo for... and save a cpl bucks
Humm, oh well that splains it. BTW I live in Concord, NC. Lots of rain, too much. SAFE TRAVELS and good health. Wait that race car trailer...what's The story?
Negative on Flying J... It was a Circle K. They had fuel for 2.21... Fuel there all the time but with all the rain, there was bound to be an issue at some point.
@@DreamInspired they used to have a reputation for dirty fuel. I haven't drove in a very long time but any place that doesn't have filters on the pumps are suspect.
motordaddy5 Agreed about flying j and pilot. If I fill up at those, or even loves my water separate filter after a week or so Is filled to the top. If I run Petro/TA, I’ve had pretty good luck with marathon too. But my filter will last a full 10k miles, only fill about half way. If I have to obviously I will fill at flying j and pilot, but I avoid it as much as possible. Also as crazy as it sounds, my dads Volvo with Detroit series 60 gets worse fuel mileage with their fuel and smokes more, my cat don’t care but the filter does LOL
Most truck stops sell them. I don’t know the specific size but I think I paid around $15 for it. If you can’t find 1, find a truck stop with a garage or commercial mechanic and they will probably have it.
Nice how to. I told South Georgia Hotshot to contact you, he's looking in to leasing a big truck. Maybe you can help him out? I don't know if he will contact you or not 🤷♂️ Congrats to the winner on this one.
In my case, poor fuel during rainy season... I found a lot of Speedway and Circle K stations with fuel over $1 less than major truck stops and I fueled there instead... That was a bad idea. I started having some extreme water issues with my fuel but after going back to Flying J and others, I figured it out. In the end, that answer is most commonly dirty fuel at the stations you fill at. Something else I’d check tho is your fuel tank caps, make sure they lock tight and the seals aren’t broker, and make sure there aren’t any fuel leaks. If fuel can get out, water can get in. A quick tip tho, there is almost always a release valve under the filter housing. Grab a jug, drain it and make sure you properly dispose of it. Definitely added that last part for legal purposes lol.
Why does volvo have so many different types of fuel filter types ... my truck doesn't have this kind of fuel filter and another one with water separator. ..

Having the problem rn not good nice video very helpful
So I found that a lot of the fuel additives I was putting in was what was causing me to go thru so many filters and have some many problems.::
Second from the house. Been here since 200 subs and hope you get back to at least weekly videos
Keeeeeeeep trucking DONT YOU EVER QUIT everything going to be ok

Thanks for the info video glad to see it back again
Always great to see you doing well. Have a wonderful day!
Great video! Glad to see your back!

Did you get a check fuel filter warning on the dash

i am glad you are back one of my favorite channels love you brother be safe god bless
Helpful video, thanks.
Thanks buddy for such a detailed explanation.
On your wrench, that's for the original style cap. The one you have will only go "hand tight"
Learned that part after I shot it. I have the spring loaded cap so it’s not needed there 👍🏻👍🏻
And I'm 99% sure with that davco, you don't need to go to volvo. I use Baldwin filters in mine.
First time doing it myself. Part was only $40 so I bought a few in case I need them later

Nice how-to Video !!
You didn't prime it with fuel? is that ok to add injector cleaner to the filter?
What size is the tool and where to get it

What’s an average for your power only loads? Per mile?

Good morning sir!
can i use a detroit water fuel separator on a volvo vnl D13? on filter it says only for Dd13,15 and 16?

@@DreamInspired not that i know of
Ok cool. Just 1 of my good friends from back in high school. Had to ask when I saw the name lol
In 2500 miles my newly installed diesel separator filter (davao 482) filled up to the max. What could be the issue?

Most trucks have a filter for water fuel separation as well as the standard fuel filter
