I can’t help but tear up when I listen to this. My mother would play this album every year during the holidays. It reminds me of the childhood magic of Christmas, and happy times spent with loved ones, including grandparents who are no longer with us. I will play this for my children someday...
I have been listening to George Winston since the early 80s. He is one of a small group of musicians who's music I can listen to over and over and it will always take me away . This and Autumn both have a special place in my heart, though, like no other music has, or most likely ever will.
This reminds of my Dad playing this on the stereo whenever it was snowing outside. It really epitomizes the beauty of snow. Only Vivaldi's Seasons and this album have captured that essence.
I was living in Venezuela at the time and my dad met BMG's president. He gave my dad 4 or 5 LP's and the pretty picture in the cover one caught my eye. I played the Pachelbel tune and almost cried. Since then I can't get tired of listening to this album.
I saw George Winsonplaying this live in San Francisco 1983 I thought it cool he played barefoot. The music calmed a restless boy and now lowers the blood pressure of an old guy. Some music unlocks my soul and this is one of them.
Still have the old vinyl, masterpiece, first choice wintertime music, it is a sort of a cult, you can´t say anything against it, but then again, who could do such a thing?
I discovered George Winston back in the early 90s when I working in preschool. This this cd is timeless and as we approach the holiday season , it is in my rotation.

I feel you. This Lp changed my being, too. I used to gift it on vinyl and tape back in the day.
It's unyielding in emotion.

Love this cd. Minstrels being my favorite to listen to & also to play. It's a piece you not only hear, but you absolutely feel. Simply beautiful.

I had this album in the 90s and it is still a work of genius.

My 3rd grade teacher often played George Winston's music while we worked on class activities. Thank you Miss Clearwater!!
This trio did more for making me feel empty than any song with lyrics.
Tranquility !! Serenity !! Calmness !! Peacefulness !! quietude !! Stillness
All of his music is just beautiful....I don't know how he does it. It's amazing how music with nothing but a piano can be so moving
part 3: minstrels -- is actually an old Greek Christmas carol (Kalanda) - "Arhimonia ke Arhihronia"
Thanks: I actually googled it
This piece is simply beautiful, and yet so deep
loved it since it began....
The urgent love of my Lord Jesus calling...

The last interval on "Midnight" makes me tear up.

A thing of pure beauty. Whole landscapes through music.

O wow, this is haunting.
Relaxation and Beautiful are a couple of the MANY words to describe this piece.
George is awesome!
Ineffably classic, cool, awesome...
One of my very favorite Winston songs.

I heard this on Pandora and now I want the CD it's great to doze off to.
I dare not try to describe, for my words would be feeble,

Easily the equal of any Arvo Part or Philip Glass stuff out there.
@MichaelBoryAlis
I say it is a hot mess. or should it be the polar opposite. :)
@RileyRaeMusic
