Well this ended up being longer than I thought, but hopefully it’s detailed enough! What’s your go-to bag right now?

It's an excellent review. Ordered the 20 liter one yesterday and can't wait for it to arrive. I won't be using it for camera carry because, to be honest, I'm useless at taking photos. Laptop and everyday carry for me. Hope you're still enjoying the bag!

14'' MBP fits fine for me. Thank you for this review.

Only thing I see myself missing with this are the magnetic straps. Those are so amazingly useful on my 30L everyday.
Still looks like a great bag though, and the blue color is beautiful!

Thanks for the detailed review, and especially the suggestion on installing the dividers to carry a mirrorless kit. Do you have any experience of using this bag with the Peak Design Capture clip? I cannot find a comfortable place on the straps to fit the capture clip on this bag. Thanks

I just purchased one for a trip to Scotland this month. I wanted something that I could carry onto the plane without be hassled about size.
The only thing I don't like about it is the tight fitting laptop compartment for my 12.9" iPad Pro with a non-keyboard Apple folio. Your camera set-up ideas were most useful! My Fujifilm XPro3 with 16-80mm fits where you tried to fit the larger camera. I'll also have room for a 10-24mm and 23mm f/2, and maybe even my Ricoh GRIII. I'm reserving the top compartment for Apple AirPods Max headphones, medications, credentials, and snacks. I may put a charging battery in the external tripod/bottle compartment. I'll reduce the load for daily carry once I arrive in Scotland.

Thanks for commenting Bill! The plane carry is the reason I originally went for this. The laptop compartment will loosen over time but it’s always been tight on my 20L Everyday Backpack too. I’m glad you found the tips helpful, the divider layout really changed the bag for me. How are you finding the straps? I’m 6’2” and even with lighter loads the straps are a bit of a pain (as they’re quite short) so I’m concerned about longer term use.

@@ChrisSpice I've yet to load it out and try it. I will this week and walk a mile or two. Plan B is a ThinkTank Photo Retrospective 15 that I own, and has better shoulder strap padding. But it is heavier in itself. I also plan to pack in my checked luggage a PD Everyday Sling SL for shorter city walks. I'm 5" 7". I'm sure this will be a live and learn trip. PS my spouse refuses to help carry camera equipment, but doesn't hesitate to let me carry her acquisitions while on the road ;)

Thank you for this review. I am debating between the 15 or 20 ml since I am 5'3' most backpacks are way too big for me. I also want a backpack that would be considering a carry on for plane flights. I was wondering do the straps just hang down, nothing to make them more flush? Some bags I have seen have elastic circular loops where you can neatly put the access strap length in.

Thank you for the review. My experience on putting both zippers on top, it may open. But if you put both zippers on either side, the chances of it opening is lesser. Opening like when it over flows. I’m glad I finished the video, 16” doesn’t fit. 😢

Thanks for this detailed review, Chris. I'm off to Marrakech in September and had been looking at the Everyday Backpack for my X-T4 with Sigma 56mm & Fuji 16mm f1.4. Then all the usual paraphernalia such as filters, batteries, etc etc. I'm now thinking that this 15L 'Zip' might just provide what I need ... and about £50 cheaper too.

Glad you enjoyed! This will definitely fit everything you need in it. I actually ended up returning and getting the bigger 20L which is overkill for a lot of my carry but the straps on the 15L were too small for my build so hurt over a long period of time.

@@ChrisSpice Just between the 15 or 20L, may I ask how much is it a different between both? Maybe about a volume of a peak design tech pouch or something like that?

Do you think a rs3 mini may fit in the top section? I have an A6700 with 2 small lenses so don't need loads of room for the actual camera stuff.

Do you know what the two metal circles on the back side are for?

    • @ChrisSpice
      @ChrisSpice  2 роки тому

Yes the top of the straps pivot/rotate around those metal circles so you can get a good fit for the straps around your shoulders depending on your build.

You could probably say "again" a few less times. If you repeat yourself on a particular point, your audience will already know that the point has previously made. Saying, "Again, the straps can be tightened" isn't really necessary. Just say "The straps can be tightened."
