Well I thought I had 5 days before Killzone Part 2 to chill but that seems to not be the case! Hope this video covering all the stats behind the illuminates was helpful and i'll see you tomorrow for an analysis on all the killzone part 2 gear.
Getting good rest I hope?
arrowhead sleep-depriving eravin, no mercy 😆
The content fire-hose has engaged, general. You can sleep when you're dead (and another diver is dropping to replace you, Democracy bless them)
God I love you
I don’t think you have said anything about the stats of the overseer shield in this video.
Correct weapon for each enemy:
Voteless- MG43 (low RPM)
Overseers- MG43 (high RPM)
Watchers- MG43 (low RPM)
Harvesters- MG43 (high RPM)
As you can see, I bring a very varied build each Illuminate mission
im basically the same way but ab0ut the laser can0n
I would like to recommend bringing the MG43 as it can remove the Warp Ship shields very quickly so you can toss a grenade inside.
You probably also want to bring along an MG43 in case any felloe Helldiver's succumb to Illuminate mind control as it is very effective at putting them down.
Scorcher is better for Overseers, it kills them so much more quickly.
MG43 HIGH RPM FOR EVERYTHING
A man of class I see
I never knew there were heavy vs. light voteless. Definitely explains why some felt like bullet sponges at times.
The three eyed ones were definitely different.
they're all equally conductive to my arc
I think there are a lot of people who don't realize there are 3 different warrior types for the terminids either.
@@chitin122I think most people would recognize the Warrior variations as they are way more obvious. For starters, the visual differences between the 3 warriors are much more pronounced than the Voteless variations. More importantly though, the 3 Warrior types also function differently from each other meaning you need to be able to recognize which one you’re fighting whereas the Voteless just slightly vary in TTK
@@chitin122 Or a wide array of differnt Troopers for the Automaton.
I'm a simple Helldiver, and all I know is that the MG-43 Machine Gun is all I need when I see a squid.
wont be the case when the full force arrives, helldiver
HMG is so good. Fun and effective!
I don't like shooting that thing on controller without peaque physique
I love the Stalwart, sue me. Lol
@@PIGEON5265paired with peak physique, mg guard dog + mg sentry + HMG emplacement. It’s a goated set up
Give it a week and he has to re-do this guide for the new squids about to pop out of Meridia.
Or just make a #2
But also thanks for the guide!
I mean it’s not like these enemies will go away, we’ll just need an addendum for new enemies
I’d say be more patient. We won’t get new enemies for a while, they JUST showed up.
A little tip about Tripods:
Despite how gigantic they are, a single stun grenade will stops them completly, even with the shield activated
I hope this helps
-S.E.S Lords of Midnight
Last time I was this early we had general Brasch’s shield generators
It's crazy that you're one of the only people who didn't just jump the gun in telling everyone to shoot the Harvester's face. That joint weakpoint was the first thing I tried and was extremely happy to see that it made just as much sense as I'd have thought. It's not even like the face is bad, but there were a bunch of people creating tierlists based on incomplete information without ever even trying the legs.
To be fair 90% of the time if it glows it’s the weakpoint there are a couple exceptions but it’s a pretty hard and fast rule to go off of
The eye is actually a weaker spot (a good railgun charge can 1shot it to the eye)
It's just that it's also much harder to hit, so the leg joint is usually easier to go for, and all anti tank weapons can 1shot it to the leg so it doesn't really matter that the eye is weaker.
@WingsAboveCSIt has no armor, but a far higher health pool, so medium and higher AP usually gets more mileage out of the leg joint unless the weapon has enough damage to oneshot the eye like the railgun. But in that case the lower armor isn't doing jack anyway.
Been finding a lot of success with the Patriot Exosuit. You can largely ignore the voteless, killing them by simply walking through them. Seriously, don't even bother shooting them with the minigun, it's a waste of ammo. Don't even use mech stomp either unless you really want to. The minigun shreds any medium target. The only threat is the harvester laser, but a single rocket to a leg joint kills them and you have 14. You have a minigun to pop shields, and rockets to destroy the Warp Ships (Shooting into the doors) and tesla towers. It's an all in one stratagem and I'm happy the mech finally has a great match up against a faction. Haven't really tested the emancipator though.
Machine Gun is GOAT’ed for Squids.
Answers anything they have.
Voteless horde? Got you covered.
Overseers? Crouch and go full send.
Harvester? Bait out the laser and aim for the leg joints.
Yep nothing is getting close.
I've been taking the airburst launcher to Illuminate missions, one airburst can clear entire waves of them. My record for a single shot was 36 kills.
Try engineering armor and bring g6 (asmall black grenades, you will get 7 of them) to deal with the voteless hordes and Jaffa (non flying overseers), they buffed the radius and the short fuse makes quick work of whole hordes. And you will find grenade boxes all around the map, leaving you room to pick different support weapon.
The new alternate fire also help a lot, being able to hit further to make sure the explosion happens in the center of a horde is very effective.
It was always missing a tiny thing (which I wished it did some kind of fire effect after so it would kill the leftover enemies who didnt die directly)
But with this change alone, it's now much easier to hit where you want and making it more reliable.
Like even on the bot side, it's gonna be easier to kill hulk since you need to land the missile exactly behind their feet which it was hard to do since it would trigger too soon.
I haven't had a chance to try it on the bug side, but im pretty sure it's instantly a tier better than it was for all factions.
And now with the squids, it's finally a worthy pick!
Laughs in flame thrower with over 60
we have been so used to high explosive while fighting bots and bugs, and those loadout rendered useless the first day squids landed. I am glad that squids brought so many underdog loadout to the surface and we can enjoy them.
AMR is goated versus both bots and squids. Can't think of anything off the top of my head that is great against all three. MG43 is decent against bots and bugs and amazing versus squids, that might be closest
@@nolimbsjohnny erupter for everything mate. even with its nerfs it still smites. everything it doesn't one or two shot it tends to stagger. plus the amount of shrapnel it has is ridiculous
Finally a good use of the flamer hand gun
Unfortunately you will absolutely want to bring the nade pistol still for the tesla towers and spawn ships.
The flame primar is good. Because you'll want gas nades and gren pistol.
@Brown95P Tenderizer, Crisper and frags are my go-to picks. I usually run them with Supply Pack and Grenade Launcher. Works nicely.
Or just bring the crossbow. It also two shots overseers.
@@Brown95P that's where you're wrong because I use the crossbow 😎
From my experience 120mm is very good at destroying medium and heavy encampments. Just put it roughly in the middle of the encampment.
Besides that I appreciate how light penetration weapons really shine against the Illuminate. Unlike bots and bugs chaff quantities are retained and the overseers having breakable armor alongside shields being able to be disabled regardless of penetration helps keep light penetration weapons useful throughout the mission.
Personally I've been enjoying the walking barrage since you can aim and predict it better than the 120
The overseer grenade spam makes me wish that throwing the grenades back was a bit more reliable.
That and they predict where you're going. So it's extra annoying cuz if you don't change course you're gonna get blown to bits.
Yeah the nade throw back is such a light kick. Lemme punt that thing
I’d be mad if they didn’t use smart tactics. They’re the most advanced enemies they should be bastards to fight
Here is my main load out.
1) Breaker Spray and Pray - crowd control. Easier to hit groups of Voteless and Airborne Overseers.
2) Stun Grenades - helps keep enemies in place allowing me more room to run.
3) Grenade pistol - can shoot into the Illuminate saucers doors to blow them up from a distance after knocking down the shields.
4) Arc Thrower - takes down Overseers easily with like 4 hits. Keeps them at range to avoid melee attacks. The Arc Thrower easily targets enemies without an exact aim point.
5) Gattling Gun - very useful if you get overwhelmed by the Voteless or other Illuminate. Can target flying units.
6) Supply Backpack- keeps the Breaker with plenty of ammo, Stun grenades and stims for healing. Can keep the squad fully stocked up on ammo and stims when on the run.
7) Any Eagle or Orbital with anti-tank capabilities for Harvesters after shutting down the shields.
8) Light Siege Ready Armor - Extra ammo for the mass of Voteless. Faster reloads. Light keeps me very mobile and outrun the hordes.
Give this load out a try. I've been very successful using it.
👍
Sweet Liberty!
Do the eagle rocket pods work?
@@konchy just had the same thought! I'm gonna have to try it out now
Seems cumbersome and clunky. If you're having fun then it doesn't matter though
4 ATE on an evacuate mission:
"We'll hello good sirs, do you fancy a game of Duck Hunt?"
So what you're saying is arc armor and flamethrower kills everything?
I'm pretty sure Arc Armor kills nothing :P
@danieldusentrieb9958 that sounds like squid propoganda. Please report to democracy officer as armored hands of freedom are rated e for everyone.
Running a fire & gas loadout , with jetpack and the new anti elemental armor is god tier against them
@@danieldusentrieb9958 If you wanna get close enough to a harvester to kill it with a flamethrower you better be wearing arc armor.
😂
The microwave killed me
Every time I see the Icon...
Yep, my squad calls it the "microwave"...we never refer to it as a SAM or anything else.
Airburst launcher is really good to take hoards and overseer’s at once. Additionally, throwing knives can one shot any overseer if you hit the head which is relatively easy to do if you stun them or git gud
At that point I’d rather bring the eagle cluster or turret and run literally anything else for strat weapon.
@@IRMentat yeah that would work. I just dont like the unpredictability of the eagle cluster. I usually run two sentries, and Patriot suit with it. Teammates usually bring the heavy artillery so i tend to do hoard control or base clearing
I've been using the Blitzer lately.
Never really been one for Arc weapons but the Blitzer chews through the voteless like butter.
Great for the overseers too, stun locks them as you hit em. Unlimited ammo too!
For support I use the Commando since it can take out landed ships and tripods.
It’s a really a good combo and I’d also recommend Laser Cannon for long range and dealing with jetpack troops.
Pair it up with the armor and by democracy does it work good.
I've been using the blitzer a lot too. I found it works really well with the liberator guard dog that cuts through overseers like butter. Just stun them with the blitzer and let the guard dog do the work.
@@willhull7713 I’ve been rocking the laser cannon. Picked it up by accident and it’s unironically good since it takes down anything from a far that the blitzer cant. Overseers, head shot them and they drop instantly. Also liked brining incendiary Granades for cc and ships. Bring laser rover for a proximity radar and Bring the redeemer to take down shields and it’s a solid 600+kill game.
I prefer the blitzer and the laser canon as my support for super helldiver. As the laser cannon can kill the armored ones in 5 seconds if you aim for the head. Get a buddy to bring a laser cannon and both of yall can easily kill a tripod
Jar-5 Dominator. One shots overseers to the head, if you are accurate enough. Real good, with a melee spear and peak physic armor, as it was meant to be.
Senator as well
I really love fighting the illuminate because of how consistent and rewarding the headshots feel. It’s fun vs bots as well, but those hitboxes feel unnecessarily small, especially on Devastators.
Dominator + Stalwart is peak vs Squids, the Dominator can even destroy a Harvester's leg joint with less than one mag too
It’s my primary for illuminates it’s a shame I can’t complete a mission without disconnecting tho
fun fact: illuminate warp ships can be destroyed with a smoke shell from the artillery sub objective as long as shield is down :)
This is -- for now -- the only faction where I can genuinely bring an AP2 primary and not feel completely shut down by some of the non-heavy units for it, so I've been rocking Sickle and MG43 alongside GP for tesla towers/warp camps and gas nades for utility, though I hear throwing knives can oneshot overseers in the face so I might even consider that instead.
Yeah, throwing knives can do that.
If you like the up close style of fighting try the breaker spray and pray, I used it all through the defense of Calypso, it gave me a new appreciation for light armor pen weapons
I personally am enjoying using the Stalwart. I never realistically get an opportunity to use it without it being a troll pick on other factions, but now I can use the Eruptor or Xbow to take out the Harvesters' joints while I use the Stalwart to mow down everything else.
Same here! Each covers the other's weaknesses. 😄
I bring the laser pistol as my secondary, for emergencies and unlimited ammo. 😎
I like the stalwart vs bugs with the torcher primary and thermite grenades. It allows a safer option when firing into melee, and the thermite grenades can take care of the chargers and bile titans.
I prefer the sickle and laser cannon
"I never realistically get an opportunity to use it without it being a troll pick on other factions"
Stalwart plus Crossbow is an excellent loadout against the bugs. Crossbow for spewers, hive guards, and commanders. Thermites for chargers. Stalwart for everything else but titans. Supply pack and you'll never run out of anything; you have 3,000 rounds total with the Stalwart. You have two other stratagems for taking out bile titans; I usually go with 500kg and something else depending on mission type and modifiers. EAT, orbital precision strike, etc.
@@itsCaptainEli Flamethrowers are surprisingly good at killing Bile Titans.
I've been using orbital gas strikes to deal with voteless, was pleasantly surprised to find that the physical shell that comes down can destroy their spawner ships too. Saves me needing to use something more specific like orbital precision and let's me both take spawners and groups alike, recommend giving it a try!
I love how they designed the Illuminate. They're diverse, fun to fight, and require and encourage a wide variety of a loadouts and approaches.
Their troops synergize much more than the bots or bugs.
their theme seems to be varied defenses, ablatives, and forcing you to focus down one type of enemy at the time, granting other types opportunity to overwhelm you.
Nice video, been waiting for a detailed breakdown on the squids. I only have 1 minor point that should be clarified. Imo, the Leg joint weakness of the Harvester is not at the joints but the horizontal bar that connects to the vertical legs (not sure of the correct name). The reason I say this is because it gives you a bigger target to look for (the horizontal part) rather than aiming for a point like the joints.
The outer half of that portion is a little janky and sometimes takes less damage is the thing...
Gas grendades getting that bump in demo force really sealed them as my go-to grenade now. Dropping one in a narrow choke that the voteless inevitably funnel themselves through, AND useful for popping spawners? Sign me up! As a stun grenade enjoyer before this, its nice my CC option has more uses now!
The 500kg is extremely reliable at Warp ship destruction, you just need the stratagem ball to land and activate right under the ship itself, so the beam is clipping through it, then the 500 will dig its nose through the shield and you’re sorted
Like the bombs from Dune but less speeen
Thank you for the comprehensive breakdown!
My method for dealing with the Illuminate consists of me taking the MG and Gatling sentries along with Eagle strafing run, along with the Commando for smoking the Harvesters
Been having a blast rocking the OG breaker and the MMG + jumpack on this faction. Love how much this faction has been mixing up viable play-styles.
It's worth noting with the watchers that their bottom fin can be shot off and it does NOT kill them
This is hands down the most useful HD2 video I've come across in quite some time. Thank you.
There I was mouthing “freedom’s greetings” as you said “hey there”. Heart heals. This was such a helpful concise vid.
Harvesters can also be taken down with one flamethrower magazine to their main body. You just gotta make sure your wear EC armor to prevent being one shot by their zap. You also need to clear out the chaff around it first as it can kill you by surprise when aiming upwards at the harvester.
He didn't say freedom greetings 😮!
I knew you would come through! No UA-camr does better for Helldivers.
Love the videos man, filled with great information. With regards to the warp ships. I love the walking barrage, especially when the game put them in a straight line.
Vehicular Manslaughter update goes hard
Showing the SAM site as a microwave is the thing that got me to sub to you. Great job.
I hope you also see Spore spewers as broccoli like i do.
I maintain that this tan Prototype armor with the hooded helm is straight up the best diver drip.
8:23 "instant calamari" LMFAO 🤣🤣🤣
You can also destroy the tesla towers with gas / impact incendiaries if you hit them directly. It can weirdly "eat" the fire from the impact incendiary nades, and they pop when the gas pops if the nade is RIGHT on them, weird I know- but it works when done right.
Ah, thats because they added a small detonation radius for them the previous patch, so you could destroy factories and bug holes with most nades now.
Still cant destroy the illuminate ships with gas grenades...
@@Noid You can, it's just one of the doors is bugged and doesn't let you do it with grenades that have timed explosions.
Laser cannon in general is very good for illuminates
My brother in democracy! YEEEEEES! That cannon is so reliable!
Instructions unclear: running Blitzer with both Emplacements has gotten W on every Super Helldive nonstop
I'm all about crossbow, you can kill everything with it. 2 shots overseers even with shields up, takes out whole mobs of voteless and even capable of doing the big walker things, and even one handed for objectives.
Nice to finally have a use for it!
Crossbow has been the best pick for all factions for a long while now
Overseers without the social credit to afford jump packs.😅
This was a really cool video! Thank you for going in depth covering every single detail possible, you got yourself a new subscriber. Thanks again I really appreciate this info, will be very helpful. Great work on the video.
hey eravin. I had found your channel just before helldivers came out. bang up job keep at. found clay back in darktide and just love yalls content
10:24 Unless they just released a new patch, this is false. While the Watcher's eye may prove to be fatal when destroyed, the Watcher can survive without its fins. Always aim for the center, because otherwise you will blow off the fin and allow it to call in support.
New KZ armor really nice because it includes 50% lighting resistance and 50% fire resistance (and gas).
Grenade pistol absolutely needed if you don't have something else to take out Tesla towers and saucers.
Almost shot a teammate because the helmet's eyes glow like the Voteless.
The spear can one-shot the ships if it hits anywhere on the bottom of the ships except for the horn.
When it comes to harvesters,I have found that if you can lay down then they are WAAAY less likely to hit you with the death beam.
The Laser Cannon is my favorite weapon against the Squids. It sweeps across the voteless and quickly takes out Overseers and Harvesters with shields.
YES! The cannon can take out the overseers, the drones, and the harvesters! I've soloed with the sickle, laser cannon, and a shield backpack!
Say, does the LC instantly toast Voteless if you sweep horizontally at head height?
15:15 I call them Striders, they remind me a lot of Half-Life's striders
Based and freeman-pilled. 👌
@@crackersphdinwumbology2831 And the Watchers look like City Scanners and the voteless the zombies and the overseers have some combine feel to them
The 500kg is consistent in taking out the outpost ships so long as you toss the orb under the ship, and near the center. This requires either good aim, or getting up close, and can be tough if there's debris or elevation differences in the way. However, this does make the 500kg the perfect answer to their outposts, as basically every outpost has only two ships and you get two 500kg uses per cooldown. Additionally, 500kg is useful for dealing with horde buildup, so it's just generally the best Eagle option to take.
Large outposts have 3 ships. That said, I've destroyed 2 closely spaced ships with a 500kg between them, so I'm not sure why everyone else seems to be having trouble with it
I was sleeping on the scorcher. Melts Overseers like you said. Great tip.
I adore Incendiary Mines for Illuminate. I toss them off cooldown at intersections, absolutely covering the cityscapes by the end of a match. Combo with jetpack and AMR, you can pop the handful of flying overseers and watchers while everyone else burns.
With this information I was able to completely demolish the illuminate. I truly appreciate your hard work. Now I aim at the knees 😂
With this knowledge I highly recommend that MP98 as your primary. Put it on three round burst. Recoils phenomenally low. It pair as well with the first frag grenades along with the grenade pistol. Machine gun as your heavy weapon. The three other strats are up to you. I use the regular gatlin turret, the rocket sentry and the auto cannon sentry. I was in the 800s with this loadout. Let me know what you think 🔥
Edit: I finally subbed.
My top stratagems for the illuminate:
- Eagle strafing runs: they may not be able to destroy their ships, but they can easily destroy their shield and since most zombies wall in a straight line, it's super effective.
- Orbital gas strike: can 1 shot their ships, low cooldown, amazing crowd controls to deal with the zombies.
- Turrets: all of them are good but the gatling/machine gun are a bit better to deal with the zombies. The rocket is decent for the harvester or at long range (like outside the city)
- Orbital 120m: will take out 2-3 ships easily.
- Orbital laser: can also clear out the ships but I find it awkward direct it since it can easily follow a random target and not go where you want it.
- Eagle 500kg: still pretty solid, can sometimes take out 2 ships and the blast is big enough to help clear some units if you need it. Can be unreliable sometimes but still.
Support weapons wise:
- MG43 can deal with absolutely all units, it's literally the perfect weapon for them. Horde? You have 175 ammo, no problem. Harvester? You have enough pen to destroy their legs.
- AMR can 1 shot the scout, 1 headshot on the overseer and can also easily deal with the harvester (1 shot on their horn to stop their shield and you can easily break their legs). Just bring a primary/secondary/stratagems to deal with the hordes/shields and you are set.
- Laser cannon is amazing. It can easily deal with all units, even the zombies. Not the best, but no clear downside.
- Railgun is pretty good kinda like the AMR but it can be awkward to use, especially the flying unit. Still, if you can aim, it's pretty descent.
- Airburst is finally decent now that you can toggle off the proximity range. It's can wipe an entire patrol of zombies. Not S tier, but for diversity sake, I like it a lot.
Primary weapons: I think it's almost easier to say which one are good for them xD- The energy based one (scorcher, purifier and punisher plasma) and the crossbow can all easily deal with the zombies/overseers because they have some good AoE and explosive dmg. They cant really deal with the shields sadly, so you just need to pick you stratagem accordingly (or use the lmg) or bring the redeemer (1 clip per shield which isnt that bad for a secondary weapon)
- All the fire based weapon are really good for the zombies obviously.
- Any weapons with a lot of ammo (or pellet if you go with the shotguns) are really good, so all ar, smg, breaker variations are amazing to deal with the zombies and shields.
(my favorite is probably the normal breaker or the sickle)
Secondary weapons:
- Grenade pistol is amazing since you can use it to blow up the ships, deal good AoE as a backup and can clear out the tesla tower in 1 shot.
- Redeemer is underrated. Sure, it only has 4 clips but it can shred a shield in 2 seconds and it's decent versus the zombies.
- Cant go wrong with the Senator which can help with the heavier units
- Crisper is decent enough to deal with the zombies, set a fire trap and watch them burn. Just dont use it versus the melee overseer unless they are almost dead (otherwise they'll stunlock to dead at close range)
- Loyalist and Dagger are decent, tho they feel a bit weak when you could use better version as primary and use the grenade pistol instead, but I would understand if someone use them.
Grenades:
- Gas and fire ones really shine to deal with the zombies and they can also destroy the ships if you have something else to deal with their shields.
- You obviously can go wrong with any normal explosives nades but the impacts are a bit better to deal with their tesla tower (which can sometimes tanks some nade thrown at their base which feels like a bug or something but maybe it's just me.)
About the Warp ships, I highly recommend the 120 barrage. on a just over 2 minute cd, you can take out 2 ships close to each other extremely easily and it doesn't even feel bad using it on a single ship.
Gas grenades are great for votless and are my go-to grenade for Illuminate missions. Guaranteed to kill them with the DoT and confuse them and the overseers herding them. I've also noticed the Illuminate ground troops are *very* vulnerable to tremors, it stuns Overseers for a good 5+ seconds when one goes off.
Gonna echo what several others have said for increased visibility:
500kg bombs can kill a warp ship in one go with the shields up *if you position the strike to hit either directly on or right next to the shield*, where the bomb essentially blows up from behind the shield.
For destroying the warships my favorite option is the gas strike. If you throw it directly on it or under, the projectile that delivers the gas will actually 1 shot them. Same with the persicion strike but faster cool down.
The SAM site icon is correct and HILARIOUS !! Great info. I was really curious about what factors made the overseers feel so tanky.
My favorite build:
Primary: Halt Shotgun (Stun works wonders on the Watchers to allow team to knock out faster, also stunning both ground overseers will make them lower their shield and freeze flying ones to allow easier jetpack shots)
Secondary: Grenade pistol for knocking out warp ship spawns
Support: Stalwart on 1150RPM for taking out the stunned enemies and sheilds on the warp ships to then allow grenade pistol to blow up
Grenade: Incendiary to leave a good crowd clear with the tight alleys and such it is indespendsible. You can cover a retreat and annhilate the swarms.
Thank you helldiver, i had trouble with overseer tankyness but the plasma scorcher fries them real good
A note for the drop ships.you can also target the engines with an anti tank type weapon for an easy one shot provided you are in position.
Thanks a lot for your video! Against the illuminates I usually use the blitzer for crowd control, and the AMR for harvesters. Pairing it with the guard dog rover is excellent against the overseers, and I use the senator to finish off targets when I don't have time to reload my AMR
yet another grade A breakdown from the legend, thank you sir
While the base warpships might seem to be entirely immune to explosions- I know the Recoiless doesn't do anything- my old reliable the Spear seems to pop the shields in a single rocket. And the Wasp can do it in three reloads on arty mode- two if you supplement it with a little extra help. I just wish the Spear could blow up the spawner with a follow-up shot! Alas, it seems to be immune.
Personally, I find 10-ish throwing knives can work, though you've got to equip them by pressing 4 (or your equivalent) to get enough fire rate. Or, if you're really stubborn, beat in the door with the stun baton. Not only will you kill all the Voteless who come out, after like 30 swings (without Peak) the shield will come down, allowing you to finish off the ship.
Though, I've only had that work on lower difficulties- on haz 10, usually something ends up coming from behind and interrupting the progress.
I've found that the orbital airburst is quite effective on most of them. Execpt the harvesters.
Tesla towers are also quite effective, especially in urban areas.
Strats are mostly ineffective against harvesters. Heavy pen weapons work best against them.
One last note is that your default melee is great for taking out straggling voteless and stopping the overseers from meleeing you. Gives a quick stun so you can get some distance or to kill a voteless in bleed out or on its own.
Squids be absolute pushover larpers when a helldiver half their size stuns them as soon as they hit back
Amusingly, a gatling strike can theoretically solo a harvester... But only theoretically, because getting the whole barrage to hit is a meme.
500kg will one shot the warp ships (with shields) as long as it's directly on top of it. It also can kill them with AOE damage landing next to them, but this is less consistent.
The illuminate are uniquely vulnerable to chem damage in a way that even the bugs aren't. Voteless and overseers run directly at you while the bugs scatter and attempt flanking tactics, so spraying an approaching horde instantly removes it as a pressure element.
One competent chem trooper backed by MGs can turn most missions into routine cleanup ops. It's an incredible thing to watch.
I am pretty sure the Harvester name comes from the fact that the tripods from war of the worlds "harvest" humans in the movie. (Haven't read the book yet, so I can't say anything about that.)
Thank you for explaining about the grenades through door bug on the warp ships. I thought I was going insane or there were different types of ships. I would drop the shield, toss in a grenade, and nothing would happen. I'd try two or three and still nothing. It never occurred to me to try the other door
The name, as the inspiration for the design, probably is influenced by war of the worlds too, since it is shown them collecting humans and draining them for their substance to use for their spray thing, that seems to feed/spread the red plants/vines.
I find the straffing run to be great especially with taking out a horde of voteless and quickly taken out the shields on the warp ships
I like how they made us switch tactics from high alpha strike BEEG NUMBAS damage to solve our problems by negating single strike damage from what we’re used to using. Like the Protoss Immortal units shields. Weak to chip high rate of fire attacks but can shrug off big hits like it’s nothing.
A note about the 500kg at 14:07 , is that if you can throw the strat ball such that the physical bomb impacts the shield directly, it has impact damage that consistently drops the shield, and opens it up for the explosion to kill the spawner very reliably, it's been my go-to warp ship killer since you can drop two on a base so quickly
I’ve seen it survive this
@@EravinVT fair enough, you'd probably know better than I!
I've been having a really good time using a Stalwart/Eruptor combo for outpost clearing, especially paired up with a jetpack and some cheeky rooftop parkour.
Ive had luck with the orbital barrages against encampments for the squids, both 120 and 380 are heavy enough to blow the ships up without much fuss and if you throw it right the barrage can clean an entire camp out easily
Man bringing the at emplacement to Defense missions optimises the fun completely out of them in my opinion
The Eruptor is my weapon of choice for hordes of voteless, especially when using the quick reload technique. I finally feel like I have a reason to take it over the crossbow! Its larger explosive radius and shrapnel definitely get the job done against so many unarmored enemies.
I play stealthy most of the time, the JAR oneshots both overseer variants with a headshot, the AMR oneshot both variants with a headshot or jetpack shot.
Nice didn't know about the different hp of the 3 voteless type and the leg joint thanks a lot
The incendiary mines are amazing and when they explode from voteless can reach the overseers flying above
My favorite Voteless removal method is to alternate hipfire, melees, and aimed headshots while circle strafing and aiming for Illuminate. Adjudicator or Deagle.
Jump pack and AMR or Arc Thrower.
Hop around buildings and rain down death with sentries and orbital barrage of your liking.
Chef's kiss.
well damn, turns out I was fighting every unit wrong. Thanks for the tips!
I’ve been absolutly in love with the gas grenades vs the voteless (and overseers). I bring them all the time and you can just block off choke points so damn well with them
Laser Canon and Scythe have been fun against the Squid. I like the pretty lights and pinpoint accuracy for cleaning Voteless off of fellow Helldivers without causing friendly fire. By sweeping the laser back and forth over a horde I find they go down quite quickly
I've been rocking the senator basically since it was released, and the ability to headshot overseers in a single hit is so good
I love going full Rambo on the voteless with the MG-43 and Liberator with the seige armor on!😂
My personal loud-out is Punisher mostly using charge ups, senator for dealing with the overseers squids in the head and gas grenades for crowd control
Machine gun: can crowd control the voteless, deal with overseers squids and I can kill the leg of a harverster.
normal guard dog: kill the overseers easily and helps me with crowd control
precision strike: what you just mentioned, its short cooldown also helps a lot
strafing gun eagle, can knock down everything besides the ships and harverster
Quite a bit of crowd control. I only lack to destroy camps quickly if I am not fully stocked on grenades otherwise it goes quite smoothly
Incendiary breaker at the legs of a vote less horde. The flame and bleed over time finishes them for you. Arc thrower for everything and great results with arc armor. Breaker incendiary or pray and spray crisper secondary high ex nades precision orbital Gatling orbital arc thrower supply pack. Precision orbital can break city walls for a quick exit or entrance. It's not the quickest but arc a harvester and any horde near there feet advance then use crisper on it. The harvester keeps hitting you with arc damage up close but wear your arc armor and laugh at it. It can step on you and beware fire damage if it falls on you. How about the Perma prone glitch? I think snake in the grass is a good name. If you have not seen glitch I got examples on my channel. Thanks for the videos Duder.
I fund the the Sickle, Liberator Concussive and the new Assult rifle pretty good at dispatching shields, while having still enough ammo to dispatch the Voteless coimg out of it before lobbing an impact grenade in.
As a whole, Impact Grenades by the way absolutely shine against illuminate. It´s a perfect multitool, dispatching the warp gates, whole hordes when lobbed in them, quickly dispathcing overseers, getting rid of squid tesla towers, and even blowing up Harvesters by lobbing two of them at the joint.
Thank you General Eravin for your continued information for democracy
ORCS works against the spawners too, however I've found the ORCS doesn't always prioritize targets that well. It WILL lock on to Warp Ships and Harvesters, but it can't seem to distinguish between Voteless and Overseers. Still useful enough, and the semi-rapid cooldown is a help, but not the most versatile choice.
