Beautiful. Since I watched it first time in high school around 1972, I couldnt stop watching it. The music is superb. I recorded the soundtrack on casette those times and listened to it around 1000 times LOL.,.... one ovf my favourites on my 16mm collection...

I discovered this via the Leonard Cohen Wikipedia entry. How wonderfully different.

Although the voice is Leonard Cohen's, it's clear from the profile that the man in the film is Derek May himself. He is briefly featured in Ladies and Gentlemen, Mr Leonard Cohen.

So peculiar! There's a version of this (which I screened on 35mm for a Cohen memorial event) that's inverted, color wise. All black on white rather than white on black! Very interesting.

It is sad that there isn't more music by The Stormy Clovers. They were one of my favourite groups from the 60s.We used to go see them whenever they came in to Montreal to play at the Venus de Milo room. They played Expo67 too, but I can't remember if I saw them there. We liked their folk-rock music and a bunch of us guys were totally in love with Susan too. Her long legs, short skirts, and blonde good looks were a treat to see, and to hear, yes, too.

Here is the correct story. Derek May the director is my father. The girl is an angel. She knows how to use her own wings. She lends them to the man, after he asked to try them. She laughs at him when he fails miserably.

ProduitAuQuebec thank you for that insight. That's rather what I thought it was, too.

Your father was a painter before he turned to film, right? Are any of his paintings visible online? (He replied 8 years later.)

As brilliant today as it was when I first saw it in my Film Studies class in high school 1975 or so.
