lowkey Nix and Penix JR will be the best
Considering the Vikings could just chill out, hopefully grab one of the top WRs at 11 and then either Nix or Penix Jr at 27, this absolutely can quickly turn around for them. I do think the falcons had that work out with Penix in Seattle to bait some team into trading with them

@@HyzersGR His physical abilities are good and he's quite young. For that reason I would pick him over Nix, Maye and Penix, but only at pick 11.
You almost feel like the Vikings should punt on a QB this year, stack up the WR core with both picks, get Jefferson locked in then either hope someone like Penix Jr, Rattler or Jordan Travis can hold you over once Darnold gets injured or plays poorly to get benched.

Patriots fan here. Tbf to Mac, he had a defensive coach play calling for him after a pro bowl season and it doesn’t help that he’s sensitive. In the right environment he’ll thrive.
Mac Jones does not compare in any way to JJ. Compare Mac Jones to Bo Nix. That is the better apples to apples. JJ is closer comp is Caleb Williams. Very similar stats.

JJ was excellent when facing pressure on third and long this season and throwing on the run. His game translates and has a good change to be a better NFL than college QB.

Gee I really hope the Vikings don't trade up into the top 5/6 for a QB, especially not to give up 3 firsts for the 4th best QB in the draft. My preference is they draft Penix at #23 or a little earlier if they have to. Use #11 on another need.

I'm fully believe McCarthy has the same chance to develop into a good player like most prospects, but for the life of me I don't know how people watch his tape and not see above average arm strength.
The Jets don’t need to be drafting Brock Bowers over an offensive lineman to protect A-Rod.
Top 6-10 pick for sure he is, I think he's a very good all around prospect. He didn't have a crazy amount of receiving weapons, he's a winner, has a strong arm, can scramble and run. I think JJ could be like a better version of Daniel Jones and be an above average to good NFL QB as a ceiling.
Food for thought; Alex Smith legendary* hand size was 9.375" and McCarthy is 9".
*= the critical knock on Alex Smith was his small hands resulting in 77 career fumbles (29 TO) despite actually having an okish alright NFL career.

Harrison is most comparable to his dad of all players which is crazy. Both were 6’2/6’3 and slim with smooth route running.
His dad was like 5”10 , Marvin is wayy bigger he’s 6”4
Harrison Sr. was 6'0"; Harrison Jr. is 6'4" same height as Randy Moss. Randy Moss obviously was more athletic and a deep ball threat while Harrison Jr. was more a every down player than Randy Moss.
I was reading some crazy article saying how the chargers would consider moving Herbert to the Vikings for that pick . Minnesota gets its QB to pair with JJ and the chargers get to restart with a QB on his rookie contract and just start over. Plus he’d get reunited with his coach from college. I know it probably won’t ever happen but it really does seem like win-win. ( plus the chargers would get Jordan Addison)

JJ's worthy of a 5th maybe if you naturally own that pick -- but you have to calculate a trade into that. That pick is very steep to trade INTO... Pretty sure if the Vikings are burning capital to trade up, they'll be doing it for Maye/Daniels.
If you watch and understand football you’re thinking highly of JJ. There’s a reason he keeps moving up. He’s a solid QB with unlimited potential.

I wouldn't mind seeing the Vikings trade JJ (Jefferson) to the Cardinals at #4 and draft MHJ. Then draft a CB at 11, then Penix at #23. JJ is a great receiver but I am worried the contract saga is going to drag on and he is going to cost too much to keep.

There’s a massive jump when you go from the best O-Line in college football to an average O-Line in the NFL which you probably can’t rely on when you have BEASTS trying take your soul
Plus when his throwing to WR, the NFL RIGHT NOW is deep when it comes to ELITE defensive backs
As good as Odunze is I don't see the Bears keeping the 9th pick. Mainly, because they only have 4 total picks and they can parlay the 9th into more which is good because this class of WR is 16 Deep with guys and they can fix multiple holes not just the one.
The 9 & 11 flip flop between Vikings and Bears seem to make more sense because I don't honestly think McCarthy is worth the capital that would go into get the 5th pick and he (or Maye) could honestly fall into their laps anyway at #11. Ricky Williams Style trades always fail for a good reason.

All I know is I want my patriots to draft Drake. I have come to a final decision. At first I want Jaden but now I want Drake. Just because I think the cold weather will not be good for Jaden in Foxborough. Drake is only 21. That kid is going to be a stud. He’s going to keep getting better and better.
JJ is younger than Maye. He has accomplished more. He runs a 4.5 40. He throws the ball 61MPH. JJ has a higher passer efficient rating, completion percentage, and yards/attempt. As a side note, he is 27-1 as a starter for a team that is NOT a dynasty (Michigan won its first title in 26 years). In what way is Maye better than JJ?
Side note 2: JJ has played in the snow and totally enjoys it.

No one is more projected than Drake Maye. Top 3 pick. Never won a Heisman. Never led his team to the FBS championship or even playoffs. Went down in completion percentage, touchdowns and went up in interceptions. He’s the one being over drafted.

JJ has the highest floor AND the highest ceiling of any QB. Call him a game manager... but also he can run a 4.5 40 and can throw 61MPH. Both elite. He is the youngest of all 6 top QBs. He never played a down over age 20. He went 27-1. He is not 2.0 of any another player. No other player has done what JJ has done at his age.
