- Bern was founded in 1191 on a hill, surrounded on three sides by the Aare river. The Old City is a gem of medieval town planning and architecture, it includes 15th century arcades and 16th century fountains. It was restored in the 18th century, preserving medieval architecture. Bern is the de facto capital of Switzerland ("federal city") and a UNESCO World Heritage site.

My hometown and place of birth. Spent 38 years of my life there and now living since a long time abroad. Had no chance for instance to come back home within the last 3 years due to work and of course because of Covid 19. Thanks for this great footage. Made me homesick. My birthplace too although, unlike you, my family moved to Lyon when I was 4. I occassionally visit the city since my relatives still lives there. Last visit was in 2018.
