This is really inspiring to me. I as well play alto in high school and im learning clarinet and soprano saxophone. People like you are the reason im furthering my passion for music through college. Thank you!
I played alto an middle school and switched to tenor, and I found another sax channel who does covers, the guy is Anthony kase. Check him out he does awesome sax covers
samuelm_19 I play flute, baritone, piano, trombone, and I'm currently learning wooden flute ( which btw is way different and more challenging then u think ) ,I always play marimba/xylaphone, and recorder if u want to count that one I can't play trumpet the mouth pcr is to small and I really want to learn piccolo and also flute is my main too
I was so amazed when I realised how other wind instruments beside the flute can do that too. Idk I used to think that only the flute can do that because the mouth is not closed so you can roll the R😂
Love that xun at the beginning! I kind of envy you now for having such a good tone on oboe. Though I am into your videos now! Amazing woodwind player! Also, I first thought the xun was an ocarina, yet they seem so alike in sound.
I used Sibelius 7 to write out the score/parts, Logic X to record the audio, and Final Cut Pro to edit the video. It's a lot more work than those multitrack apps out there, but I think the final product is far better.
I most certainly will! I've only been playing for a little over 2 years and obviously have much to learn. On a side note, I'm playing in the Altissimo range :) I have uploads coming here in just a couple of weeks or so too--stay tuned LOL It would help me to get feedback from someone has talented as you are. In 10 years, I only hope to be 1/2 as good as you!
All my arrangements are available for purchase if you're interested! Fill out the contact page on my website if you'd like more info: joshplotnermusic.com/contact
This is extremely well and something I can barley play I have much respect for u, I just feel like the saxes where just a little too loud and u could barley hear the flute( which happens all the time so I'm used to it) but it was so loud u had to look for the one sound and it wasn't just there, now this is my opinion ik I might have different opinions but it wat I think, mad respect for u and the music
Josh Plotner probly. Its the longer one you used. I know their is Bb foot joint. I use a flute in c the brand is germined heart i totally reccomed it plays really nice
DoomsdayHand It was more of an exaggeration. Transcription is time consuming and hard to learn. Many can do it, but few can do it well. It is much easier to have a transcription already made.
Sure, but transcribing is really good for the musical ear and better understanding of how music is made. So I'd say that all in all, transcribing (in reasonable limits) is really a better idea than reading a transcription :)
This man.... this man is the one we band kids pray to for guidance with our music...
ALL HAIL THE KING!
This guy's here playing like 20 instruments and I'm just here like...I...play the oboe...
I play Oboe as well and that’s enough its expensive
Morgan ODowd right 😂
I play oboe too but I started on clarinet as it is my primary instrument!
I play oboe, but I plan on learning a brass instrument too!
@@Miranda-eu6kh Brass is difficult! Compared to woodwinds, brass is the last of the instruments I want to learn. You're up for a good challenge.
This is really inspiring to me. I as well play alto in high school and im learning clarinet and soprano saxophone. People like you are the reason im furthering my passion for music through college. Thank you!
And comments like this are the reason I keep making videos :)
Josh Plotner I love music I played the clarinet in elementary now I play oboe in my first year of highschool
Ryan Heath Same here. I play alto sax in my high school as well. (I'm a freshman)
Ryan Heath yo I play around sax you think you can teach me????
I played alto an middle school and switched to tenor, and I found another sax channel who does covers, the guy is Anthony kase. Check him out he does awesome sax covers
The king in the wind!
The oboe is such a beautiful instrument in the hands of a talented player. I would totally listen to you play just solo oboe for hours.
This is bad ass to say the least.
Hunter Frederick Listen to the wonder woman theme if you're looking for that.
How the hell.... this is so good
wow, you're really good, as a high school student I hope to be as good as that and be able to play that many instruments one day
This is really inspiring. I play 4 types of saxophones myself and flute. I'm just so intrigued by the amount of instruments you can play

I was so amazed when I realised how other wind instruments beside the flute can do that too. Idk I used to think that only the flute can do that because the mouth is not closed so you can roll the R😂
Yep. 😂

Love that xun at the beginning! I kind of envy you now for having such a good tone on oboe. Though I am into your videos now! Amazing woodwind player! Also, I first thought the xun was an ocarina, yet they seem so alike in sound.

Wow...what was the first instrument you learned to play ?
I started on alto sax, and by the end of high school I was playing flute and clarinet in most of my ensembles. Oboe and most of the rest in college.
c est un hautboit
Josh Plotner! I love your oboe playing! Much better than mine I have to say..
That's the same for me
Josh
Very, very nice interpretation. Good job!
Amazing!
This is very impressive
What was that tongueing technique you were using on flute? Sounded totally wicked. I play tenor and sop sax, however I am intrigued by that technique!
Flutter tongue
I think
yeah it’s flutter tongue
there are a few ways, i suck at it but i manage to do it sometimes with the back of my throat (bass clarinet)
wow!
what program did you use for this installation?
I used Sibelius 7 to write out the score/parts, Logic X to record the audio, and Final Cut Pro to edit the video. It's a lot more work than those multitrack apps out there, but I think the final product is far better.
thank you so much. beautiful interpretation!
How long have you been a musician for? Looks to be years of experience here on your videos to say the least...amazing! Keep up the great work.
+Michael Bishop I've been playing for a little over 10 years now. Thanks for the support! I have a new video in the works--stay tuned!
Bassoonist cries

Can you make a video about beat boxing on the flute? Everytime I try it I play it as I should normally, I can't get that beat boxing soud 😅
I’m sorry but I really have to. Sorry your dragon show ended badly. But I still love this video, wish I could play this many instruments
what's the software used to splice videos together like this?
What is the instrument we see at the very beginning?
It's called a Xun. It's a Chinese ocarina. Not very common, but a beautiful instrument!
Do you play bassoon?
I️ can play oboe, trumpet(kind of) and bari, tenor and alto sax.
Can I have the oboe part?
PLEASE?
It's much easy to play all of that if you have them
did you use sheet music for this?? if you did is there any way i can get a hold of it or no?
I transcribed it myself. I offer all my arrangements as rewards on my Patreon!
okay ill check it out. thanks!
Where did you get the music? Also, I love this so much
I transcribed it! It's not too hard of a song to learn by ear. If you want to learn it I'll bet you can figure it out yourself!
What’s that first instrument called?
Axl Garcia In the end of the video it said it was called a Xun
bass clarinet where ya at ?
This is extremely well and something I can barley play I have much respect for u, I just feel like the saxes where just a little too loud and u could barley hear the flute( which happens all the time so I'm used to it) but it was so loud u had to look for the one sound and it wasn't just there, now this is my opinion ik I might have different opinions but it wat I think, mad respect for u and the music
Is the longer flute a Bb flutw
Not sure what a Bb flute would be but I think you’re talking about the alto flute!
Josh Plotner probly. Its the longer one you used. I know their is Bb foot joint. I use a flute in c the brand is germined heart i totally reccomed it plays really nice
Why you look like mr clean at the beginning??
Do the Stranger Things theme!
where can I find the notes?
Use your ears :)
DoomsdayHand
Because everybody has perfect pitch.
I'm sorry sir, but I don't have absolute pitch at all and I'd still be able to transcribe this arrangement.
DoomsdayHand
It was more of an exaggeration.
