They are the best, I was just a regular HM, those guys are like on another level of wow....they save lives on mas scales and do complicated surgery. IDC is hard to get and hard to maintain, but you are all there is; if the reaper comes early, they say "nope" not today sir.
My late father was an IDC in World War 2 and served in Hawaii and Japan. I did all my own sutures until the age of 35 because of what he taught me. I ended up being his primary caregiver until he passed. So...yeah you guys know a lot!
50+ credit hours towards a degree in Clinical Heath Sciences, enough to earn your Bachelor’s with some prior college, all while being paid as a full time student. Up to $90K in bonuses Wide array of certification opportunities Automatic promotion to the next pay grade (up to E-6) upon completion of training. Extremely competitive for promotion.
Those my friend are Corpsman, they hold no arms unless to protect the patient, they seek no advisory, yet aid nonetheless, so saluting for them is a damn fine honored to be in the Hospital Corps at all, those are my family. Respectfully salute or not, but do not take pot shots.

My son is an IDC and I couldn’t be more proud.
I was a HMC IDC and served during operation Iraqi freedom! I retired in 2003!
If you want to make CPO as a corpsman you need one or more of these quals: FMF, IDC, Recruiter, Drill Instructor, A or C School instructor.
I was FMF/SCW and IDC! IDC school is one of the toughest schools I ever went through!

Yes, American soldiers are brave and versatile soldiers, "saluting."

I'm offended. Clearly you need to lower standards to be even more diverse. Ask SOCOM.
