    An enormous thank you to Frank DiMatteo for giving us an interview. Order his book “The President Street Boys: Growing Up Mafia” right here: www.mobcandymag.com/order-mags.php
    Also for those of you asking about the music, we compiled most of the songs in a public playlist here:

      A guy name Murray Humphreys who was with The Chicago Outfit was the one who discovered the 5th amendment's application to the senate hearings. It had been used in court before but even Bobby Kennedy thought it did not apply outside of court and the mobsters would have no choice and nothing to hide behind. He once had a judge give Giancanna immunity which meant that he couldnt plead the 5th against self incrimination because he was immune and therefore had to answer or go to jail and off to jail he went. Giancana was blown away that Kennedy had figured out a way to take the shield of the 5th from him and put him in the position of having to answer or being jailed for it. Had he known that Kennedy had 70 something Carlos Marcello kidnapped and illegally deported to Honduras where he was dumped in the jungle and nearly died over the next 3 or 4 days of trying to reach any village or help of any kind he wouldve known that Kennedy could play dirty with the best of them. Marcello believed he was going to die after falling for the umpteenth time and breaking several ribs and told the man with him that he wasnt going to make it but the man would make it and for him to tell Marcello brother what that punk did to them and that's what killed him and to tell his brother the last thing Carlos said was do what you gotta do. If you go at Bobby then his brother unleashes the national guard on you but if you go after JFK then Bobby is no more and if it's done quickly with a patsy then a cover up would be necessary because of all that both Kennedy were illegally involved in like trying to kill Castro and bay of pigs disaster and many other dealings with CIA and Joe Kennedys deals with the mob. All those things and more made it impossible for a investigation to publicly uncover the truth without uncovering everything else. Marcello and Hoffa felt it was truly survival and it was or neither wouldve ever considered something as insane as trying to kill a president.

    The fact that the Gallo crew was willing to back Joey in a second war against the boss of a family, and after he had just gotten released from a 10 year sentence, proves that he should’ve been the boss of a family. You can’t buy that level of loyalty.
    Edit: On top of commanding the respect of a large crew, the Gallo bro controlled the docks and other small rackets, and never broke Omertà.

      On top of that, Joe Colombo deserves it, he deserves to get whacked. He appears on TV, He gives speech in an public rally, he's like John Gotti but 10 times worse...He get's to rule a family because he snitched his Boss Magliocco to Carlo Gambino on the Commission hit (which wasn't explained in the video, because this is the bigger picture).
      Magliocco and Bonanno conspires against Carlo Gambino and Vito Genovese for betraying *Lucky Luciano and Frank Costello* . Magliocco told Joe Colombo to do the hit, but Colombo informed the commission. Bonanno relocated to Arizona far from NY and the Magliocco were forced to abdicate the "Boss" title to Joe Colombo, giving colombo power over the family...all this *by snitching*.
      It's really complex, the politics of Mafia.
      But the balls for Bonanno for standing up against the commission for betraying Luciano though. It's probably Bonanno who approached Gallo and supported the hit against Colombo.

    sounds like high-IQ psychopathy rather than schizophrenia. Charming, irreverent toward stifling social conventions like jailhouse racism, well-read, fearless of the consequences of taking on the most violence-prone organization in the criminal underworld, able to inspire belief of others in his eventual success in that project (which requires social skills and short-term planning that would be very challenging for a schizophrenic)

      See if you can find a movie named Crazy Joe, pretty good movie with a pretty star studded cast, Eli Wallach, Paula Prentiss, Michele Gazzo and Gabriele Torrei (who were also in The Godfather), Peter Boyle is Joe, Rip Torn is Larry, Henry Winkler and Herve Villechaize, are in it too. I'd also recommend Kiss of Death, the movie that has Richard Widmark as Tommy Udo, the guy that Joe kind of modeled himself off of. In once scene Widmark pushes a crippled woman down the stairs in her wheelchair as a signal to her son, quite a role model. I have both in my library and usually watch them back to back about once a year just because I'm boring that way,

    • @TheSteelDialga
      @TheSteelDialga 2 роки тому +3

      Yeah I mean, if he was still in the mob after reading Kant then he probably didn't learn much. Deontology is one of the leading theories of morality today, and this guy didn't seem to really get any more moral (from what this video talks about)

    • @DosEquisMan45
      @DosEquisMan45 2 роки тому +2

      @@TheSteelDialga well Kant's moral theory is debunked and bashed on by most philosophers after Kant but the really interesting question is whether he saw himself as a cultural and revolutionary figure in the way Kant, Nietzsche, and Schopenhauer were; and, if he did, to what extent.

Lansky @ my parents 1949 wedding as his guest. Breheney owned LaSalle Vending. I think Albert Galo is in his 90s & still alive. Would love to ask if remember Breheney! New Subscriber.
