I am already thinking of Christmas in Oct. I am going to try this later today. Sometimes I buy really cheap prints at the shop on sale and I white them over and paint over them and I have a large canvas downstairs I will do that to. It will hang over the fireplace if all goes well.😬
Thank you SO much! I just used this with my 6th grade students and they turned out SO cute!! Several asked if you worked for a news station as you have a great voice for TV! :)
That is awesome! I'm so glad you could use the video for them :D lol I hear that a lot about my voice...it gets peoples attention for sure! Thanks so much for watching and following along!
Hi! Trying to do this with my class. Question - I let my painting dry for 2 hours with a fan on it before adding the snow on the bottom...unfortunately the white is mixing with the yellow. Is there a certain amount of time I need to wait before I paint over it? I'm using the brush you mentioned in the other comment. I'm very new to painting and definitely don't want yellow snow on the bottom haha
Hi! Sorry to hear that! What type of paint are you using? I use acrylic craft paint from Apple Barrel...craft paint should dry fully in just a few minutes (which is why you see me use a hair dryer to speed up the process) Sometimes I need two coats, but it shouldn't take two hours!
@@emilyseilhamerart Thank you for responding! Currently using "Crayola washable tempura". I waited overnight to put more white but yellow is still seeping through. I have acrylic paint available but I'm nervous with my kids using it since it isn't washable. I guess we will just have to have a bit of yellow snow haha
@@JS-wg1nnOh that makes sense! Yes unfortunately tempera has a different chemical makeup and doesn't layer the same...but is great for clean up! You can get similar effect though. One option would be to do the snow first or leave a space for it to avoid layering yellow behind it :)
ive GOT to get better brushes, mine do not hold that much paint, i just started (with your videos which are a huge help btw) and the brushes I got to start with, do not hardly hold any paint at all before i have to "re-dip". Cant wait to attempt this one!
That’s a common problem!…the reason why some of mine hold so much paint is because they are actually wet n wild contour makeup brushes 😆 great for blending!
@@emilyseilhamerart I meant your detailing brushes! I love using your tip to use my make up brushes for blending lol when I see artists trying to blend with actual paint brushes it doesn't look right to me now lol
