I think that Nigerian constitution does not permit for a southerner to be président but only as a vice president after the Biafran civil war. The case of Jonathan Goodluck, it was a weird and a special moment after the death of the president. Then automatically while the constitution stipules such transfer of power in due process in case of the seat being vacant due to sickness and/or death. The northerners always are for the presidency unless they amend the constitution. I could be wrong but I am sure about the constitution.

To me, this type of political kingship ideology is one of our problems. The argument of who to contest for presidency should purely be one of dexterity and agility. Presidency is a service, it is no kingship rule that any one person deserves over the other because he's helped him politically - if Tinubu was responsible for Osinbanjo's rise, it should have been purely based on Osinbajo's merit and not as an "arole" plan. Common now, contesting to serve the country shouldn't be a subject of some ethical cleansing practice between cabals, we deserve better than this. I think that Nigerian constitution does not permit for a southerner to be président but only as a vice president after the Biafran civil war. The case of Jonathan Goodluck, it was a weird and a special moment after the death of the president. Then automatically while the constitution stipules such transfer of power in due process in case of the seat being vacant due to sickness and/or death. The northerners always are for the presidency unless they amend the constitution. I could be wrong but I am sure about the constitution.

To me, this type of political kingship ideology is one of our problems. The argument of who to contest for presidency should purely be one of dexterity and agility. Presidency is a service, it is no kingship rule that any one person deserves over the other because he's helped him politically - if Tinubu was responsible for Osinbanjo's rise, it should have been purely based on Osinbajo's merit and not as an "arole" plan.
Common now, contesting to serve the country shouldn't be a subject of some ethical cleansing practice between cabals, we deserve better than this. If truly he's more experienced than Osinbajo, his campaign strategy and promises would show that, not some nonsensical political subservience.
