    OMG, I would either use automation throughout a track and move EQ faders by hand, or just use that three band compressor.
    This looks so much better and it's for free. Thanks Michael!

    • @k9nevienna
      @k9nevienna 5 років тому +9

      A dynamic EQ is not the same as a three band compressor.
      A dynamic eq lowers the volume of the frequencies you select by a specific threshhold
      A threeband compressor compresses them.

      @@k9nevienna and what is compressing if not lowering volume?

    • @k9nevienna
      @k9nevienna 3 роки тому +3

      @@simong8527 Compressors only lower the volume of peaks(loud parts) but increase the volume of quieter parts so you can maintain a consistent volume, not a lower volume. Also, compressors have certain parameters like attack release knee etc. and they have a unique sound and sometimes colouring.

    • @simong8527
      @simong8527 3 роки тому

      @@k9nevienna so its not about compressing them like you said on initial comment..Its about compressor attack all frequencies, not particular ones like dynamic Eq. You can lower volume only with compressor by not adding any make up gain

    • @k9nevienna
      @k9nevienna 3 роки тому

      @@simong8527 yes, a normal compressor by itself lowers the volume of peaks but increases the volume of quieter parts. But a threeband compressor compresses specific bands that you can choose, not the whole audio. And a dynamic eq reduces the volume by a threshold, but its not compression just because they both have a threshold, it just responds to it but then just turns down the volume
