I think the others are too prideful(because they've been around to play games where inverted controls were the default and) to admit they're wrong. They'd rather make 3 rights than a left.
@rustycookiepekka6875 I'm sure they exist since I'm not a big FPS player, but I've never played a game where the default aiming controls are inverted.
Some people work better with regular controls, other work better with inverted controls. Be nice if we could realize this and just let people play how they like instead of making everything a gigantic goddamned nothingburger.
I love you guys so much, but I'm with Elliot, for a shooter of any kind, first or third person, Inverted Y-Axis is the most bizarre thing I've ever heard, you're aiming not flying a plane lol
"Um Actually" Mercenaries mode was properly introduced in RE3, however, the version established in RE4 would serve as the template that all future minigames would follow. What? Someone was going to say it.
10:24 RE5's Mercenaries mode doesn't unlock anything in the main game. It can get help get points to buy things like infinite ammo, but special weapons like the triple barrel shotgun are unlocked in the campaign. There isn't even any exclusive achievements for it, it is a purely optional mode.
Like I said in the lost in nightmares part, I am on Elliot's side regarding aim controls, I won't knock people who prefer it the way the rest of SGB do but Elliot getting bar none the highest score after they argued about aim controls was the icing on the cake.
I agree with Elliot. using some kind of air craft or character that is swimming in water? okay fine down is up, up is down sure? but using and aiming a gun down being down makes way more sense.
Ok, Greg, John, i'm going to defend Elliot on this hill and use this analogy The problem with Inverted controls is that, EVERYONE barely used those controls, unless you grew up with the controls being the default, i don't think many play with those controls there is the problem with response timing, because you see a enemy and you need to aim up, most people push up, which is weird when you need to aim up, you push down Flight controls, i get, but on a game like RE5, it is weird
Exactly, this is why I said during the flashback mission the inverted controls for a non-flight game is one of the many reasons why I think mental asylums need to come back.
Elliot vs the N64 aiming trio (Its ok elliot, everyone who grew up with the ps2 knows n64 inverted aiming is disgusting and not even close to being sensical)
Yeah, I’m with Elliot here. When you’re piloting an Arwing in Star Fox for example, sure inverted controls are fine. But when you’re holding a gun or an arm cannon in something like Resident Evil or Metroid Prime? FUCK Inverted controls. It’s WEIRD. Why would I move the analog stick down when I’m trying to aim and shoot up? It doesn’t make any sense!
Nah RE3 Remake deserved all the crap it got, it's fine if you like it but you can't sit there and say it's good or better than the original when it REMOVES content, not just little things either like the giant spiders in RE2 Remake but whole sections just gone? That's unacceptable. I like RE6 and will defend the hell out of that game but I won't say it didn't deserve the criticism.
@@kingslayer2999 Oh don't get me started, people act like that game was just made by Michael Bay with explosions and crap dialogue all throughout acting like they never played a Resident Evil game before. I feel like that game is only really bogged down by the pacing of each campaign and then it begins to feel like a slog but other than that, it really isn't that bad. Combat and controls are the best in the series, the story in each campaign are all pretty good, love Chris' campaign. It has the best Mercenaries mode with the best theme. There's a lot of stuff to appreciate about it, no different than any other RE game before it really.
@scottroxford5715 I will disagree with you on Resident Evil 3 Remake. Yes it removed content that - in my opinion- not all that important. The clock tower was a nothing burger in the original game. Also RE3R expanded on some content like the Hospital and made Carlos an actual main character in the remake. Resident Evil 2 Remake removed content too like the zapping mechanic, and the two scenarios aren't really two scenarios since you repeat the same content in both of them with very minor differences unlike the original. My only problem with RE3R is how they treated Nemesis. Yeah I can't defend that one.
@@scottroxford5715 I am also on the( RE6 is a great game) hill and will die on it. But with that one I can understand RE fans not liking it that much. That game isn't an RE game, it's an action game. A good action game but not an RE game.
I think my personal problem with REmake 3 is that I put TOO MUCH expectation into it & wanted them to expand on it, story/gameplay wise, & have it be more fully fledge than the "Game that was made on the Cheap" like the original was. I don't hate the game by any means, but I wish there was more to it.
I mean and I will agree with Elliot on aiming settings since flight stick controls don't work for shooters. I remember not being fond of RE3 Remake because it cut out the clock tower and got rid of Grave Digger. Sure, Grave Digger might not be the most iconic boss fight in the RE series but the remake could've fixed that since I liked the look of the thing and what it could've brought to the table. I'll admit to being annoyed that Jill says the iconic line about giving Nemesis stars since you actually run the risk of it being interrupted with you and Jill looking stupid if Nemesis actually hits you. It's not even said at the end like in the original so it being said so randomly at that time and place in the Remake is weird and underwhelming, doesn't do the line justice. Too many fights with Dog Nemesis, it overstayed its welcome and happened a bit too soon even if the design is well made by talented people. Like how you draw the line at the volcano section of RE5. I kinda draw the line at Jill managing to fire the big gun at the end when the thing nearly causes the ground below Jill to crack when she's got freaking noodle arms since it just looks like it would tear both of her arms straight off with the sheer amount of force it releases. I can buy the big gun carried by Jill, just don't make it crack the ground under Jill since it legit does get a bit silly with that. Don't have much else to say. There is that one cutscene in the game to introduce a "mechanic", not sure what to call it but I think the people behind that game were a bit kinky.
I think the Remake has the better story and characters. But I think the Original is the better game overall. I also miss the Dead Factory. It was such a horrific indictment on how both horrible and inept Umbrella was. The homeless people from the park that they experimented on and then threw in the trash. And the fact that it was a disgusting place that was falling apart. The lab in the remake is just the Nest from RE2 again. Kinda lame.
Inverted aiming is fine for me. In my case, it depends on the game. Older games, I expect inverted aiming. I played a game that inverts both the X and Y axis, and that screws with me. If I move the mouse to the right, I expect it to go right not to the left
I was never good at Mercenaries, but I do enjoy it alot! My favorite character to play as in this mode is Rebecca. Since she's one of my favorite characters in the series. And plus I love roasting enemies with her flame spray. It's satisfying and funny. I think Re3 remake is okay. Just not as good as the other Re titles in my opinion. The thing I hate the most about that game was Jill's characterization. I did not like her portrayal in the remake..
I usually adapt to the game's default camer/aim. Sly cooper and ratchet and clank did inverted for the camera. Can't remember one for the aim at the moment.
Idk I love me some inverted controls when I play a 3rd person shooter, but that might be cause my brain got wired to inverted controls since playing star fox 64 since I was like....4 and im in my 30s sooooo yeah
RE3 Remake is a fun time but I think it butchers a lot of the horror from the original game. Nemesis has one proper chase before becoming entirely scripted and his transformations lack any menace and look more busy than scary. Not having the clocktower and swapping the dead factory out for another Nest is criminal and takes away a lot of RE3's identity and deemphasizes how Umbrella has ruined the town from the inside out. I also don't like that the game really only has 1 original puzzle and the rest are just the locks and safes from RE2R. I do like 3 but I left the experience wanting more, something I didn't feel playing 2R or 4R.
do love the extras resident evil/fun modes capcom games add to their games. with how barry(him being cut from 3 remake/nemesis being more boss than constant threat was the only thing i disliked as i loved his return saving jill & carlos.) was going to be in 5/rebecca being in the b.s.a.a be for mode of the 2(alongside maybe ada wong/leon.) in 5 remake. kinda like clubbin sheva looks similar to elena(considering they have the same voice & actually chat with her a bit once.:3) but love fairy tale outfit & business looking like ingrid hunnington decided to step into the field after another call with leon went out.
