There are definitely over 100 pairs of freddy's floating around. The reason why they are starting to pop up more often is because they are worth so much money the collectors that held on to them and never showed them are selling them off. I believe the reason why people keep going with the 26 to 30 number is to drive "exclusivity" and to keep the price on them high because if it got out WAY more pairs exist it would affect the market.

Wouldn’t be surprised if all but 5-10 pairs are authentic and everything else super high quality reps created by a sneaker head who flew to China to work with factories to make them 1:1 with a bunch of trial n error
This is not a true story. None of them were ever “drenched in oil”. The parts that look like they have oil on them is part of the design. That’s why you only see those “stains” on the panels and not the other parts of the shoe. Nike would never dispose of sneakers by putting oil on them and burning them. They would be going against so many regulations and they wouldn’t do that.

I always thought it was a little truth in all stories. They had more than 30 pairs, they never destroyed them, i heard some were authentic greenlit by a scandalous Nike employee, i think some are 1:1 fakes that have aged well which makes it hard to tell the authenticity. I always thought the fire story was more of a homage to the original Freddy story then anything else, he terrorized kids in their dreams and they set him on fire but he still survived just like the sneakers till this day just seemed contrived.
i personally think the design itself is also just for collectors satisfaction only because of how well designed it is for the movie and its culture impact. because really, would you really wear the shoe if you put aside the hype? it’s actually pretty ugly and hard to match a fit unless you’re going for halloween.
There is likely more than 30 pairs out there but you see so many of them because the same 20 guys keep selling each other the same 20 pairs. They're just playing hot potato with them increasing the price each time
If a skate shop in Mexico were able to sell 2 size runs that just shows they had these already off the line and ready to go. There’s probably thousands. An owner of a skate shop near me kept all hit Heineken pairs once he got the notice he wasn’t able to sell them but he already had the shipment. Dude has tons of old nike SB gems up in LA Rif and flight club.
I used to work for Nike distribution in LA from 2005-2009, many of the Freddy’s were modified to change the look and sent to outlets, some pairs were placed into storage, some employees were able to cop them along the line ie “backdoored”, or you can believe that they were sent to a dump and set on fire which at the time would violate so many environmental laws, then again congratulations you made it to the end, I am just kidding and it’s all cap!
The video's reliance on hearsay makes it less credible fighting unverifiable information with unreliable sources. the existence of oily pairs contradicting to the argument People understand why these sneakers are highly valued, questioning their authenticity is a valid concern. The video fail to acknowledge the possibility of fake pairs in the market undermines its credibility by dismissing it as the opinion of "Dumb 12 year olds."
Yeah, too many assumptions majority are reps. This makes it sound like every single pair has been re sold which I would imagine some people would want too keep such a limited release. Look at how many people are already re selling "early" pairs of palominos without questioning how they made it out of the factory.
@@sneakernomics5547 But that's what this video just did? You didn't have any manufacturing logs, no single witness statement and no actual way to legitimately verify a real pair of freddy dunks. This was all just a story to proactively inflate the number from 26 to 300 and justify the high amount floating around?
@@miggyontiveros2394 yeah I’m not claiming this is an authoritative take, I specifically say this in the vid, the research I did and the interviews I conducted provided the evidentiary support (a lot of it is screenshotted in the vid) to help me arrive at my conclusion - the number didn’t even need inflating as the 30 number was always bunk and unfounded it’s more about making a better educated guess on how many are out there
@@sneakernomics5547 However other people will cling onto this vid and now claim their pair is "one of the 300 made". You just gave an easy way out for a lot of people to claim legitimacy of their pairs.
@@miggyontiveros2394 not really bro - the number could be way higher for all I know - the goal was to dispel the myth that there are only 30 pairs and to hazard a guess as to how many could be out there - I’m very clear in the vid it’s all speculation
With so many variations of this shoe its impossible for anyone to accurately legit check them too. Surely there has to be a number of reps popping up on the internet for hype or even getting passed off as real pairs.
This is a good challenge and makes more sense than just blanketing the 'all are fakes except the genuine 30 of 'em' conclusion. Is there a way to authenticate tbe oil splatter (much like a blood splatter that Freddy would leave behind!? Hehe...) or any kind of a distinct and less known technique to differentiate the authentic ones? Will Nike really b🔥rn those shoes as per cease & desist order? As Interesting as the resell price its demanding for. I'll appreciate answers for these. Thanks --- ■
I've been saying this n from what I've learned most are fakes but alot are one that got messed up when they where supposed to be destroyed only 30pairs ds existed
most the ones we see in videos are real the fake ones dont have the same quality or even close to one that looks a bit legit theres only a couple batches in the reps market and thzy both look horrible the one that is rlly FAKE is the "sample" that got red and green splatter instead of blood splatter those got a rlly accurate reps batch out there
@@ThatWrapperDude nike have cancelled a lot of contracts with skate shops over the years - in fact there are only a small handful of skate shops in the UK that have a nike account - if you want to keep getting stock directly from nike, esp the desirable stuff you have to keep them happy
“Don’t believe those guys believe these guys.”It’s much more likely that a bunch of reps are sold and treated as the Originals. Now it’s easy content so I can only see more reps being pooled into the market.
Even 300 is a relatively small number globally. I’m more prone to believe there’s some reps being used as props for content.
100%, its probably some combination of the two. it's probably also the same 6 resellers just trading them back and forth.

Another HOOD classic!!!
crazy part someone had gave me some Freddy n I thought they was fake didn't know i think I have the prototype Freddy]
Nike is the DeBeers of sneakers. They mastered the art of artificial scarcity to blow up sales.
Would never buy these only because I can’t trust authenticity from anywhere.
Great video!
i personally think the design itself is also just for collectors satisfaction only because of how well designed it is for the movie and its culture impact. because really, would you really wear the shoe if you put aside the hype? it’s actually pretty ugly and hard to match a fit unless you’re going for halloween.
Great video! I agree 100%
comment number 4 here, nike could make a krueger today but they just wont.
I was in a sneaker store in Sydney yesterday and they had a pair on display. Told me they wanted 200k Aussie for them
Wow that’s a bit too much tbh but there can’t be that many pairs in Aussie
@@sneakernomics5547 wouldn’t even offer me afterpay !
There is likely more than 30 pairs out there but you see so many of them because the same 20 guys keep selling each other the same 20 pairs. They're just playing hot potato with them increasing the price each time
Facts weren’t these shock dropped in resell land 😂😂 I’m just fuckin around
They kind of look hideous… imagine if Nike all of a sudden decided to rerelease them i huge quantities they will eventually end up in outlet stores
Freddy shoes not going to be worn at 20-30K
If a skate shop in Mexico were able to sell 2 size runs that just shows they had these already off the line and ready to go. There’s probably thousands. An owner of a skate shop near me kept all hit Heineken pairs once he got the notice he wasn’t able to sell them but he already had the shipment. Dude has tons of old nike SB gems up in LA Rif and flight club.
Yeah good point
I used to work for Nike distribution in LA from 2005-2009, many of the Freddy’s were modified to change the look and sent to outlets, some pairs were placed into storage, some employees were able to cop them along the line ie “backdoored”, or you can believe that they were sent to a dump and set on fire which at the time would violate so many environmental laws, then again congratulations you made it to the end, I am just kidding and it’s all cap!
These are a case where I think Reps are warranted.
The video's reliance on hearsay makes it less credible fighting unverifiable information with unreliable sources.
the existence of oily pairs contradicting to the argument
People understand why these sneakers are highly valued, questioning their authenticity is a valid concern. The video fail to acknowledge the possibility of fake pairs in the market undermines its credibility by dismissing it as the opinion of "Dumb 12 year olds."

I got my Freddy’s the other day. And I’m wearing them. I’m not one of these idiots who buys shoes and doesn’t wear them
is it a new zealand rugby shirt? been getting into rugby as of recent
It is. Wanna guess why?
Yeah bro - all blacks 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 good rugby team
@@sneakernomics5547definitely. I particularly like a all blacks vs our English team always good matches.
There's only 26 pairs in existence.... I'm Nike McNikey I would know🤓🤓
Looks like 30k pairs every short you see has at least one pair
But the sketchy part is.. even the sellers don’t even know where they came from 🤷♂️ haha
How do you know?
why are the sfx only in my left headphone 😭
How is this hypothesis more valid than the "30 pair"?
W video bro
Great video topic
Yeah, too many assumptions majority are reps. This makes it sound like every single pair has been re sold which I would imagine some people would want too keep such a limited release. Look at how many people are already re selling "early" pairs of palominos without questioning how they made it out of the factory.
A lot of fakes out there sure - but if you’re going to claim a pair is fake you should justify that claim based on some evidence
Nike let those dunks flyyyyy. Nike just covered their butt by stating only very few got released.
LMAO@tsunami.
Everyone googles shit an google never gets Updted, shit changes. Thats why i dont go buy shit from anybody but the mall when they come out.
I've been saying this n from what I've learned most are fakes but alot are one that got messed up when they where supposed to be destroyed only 30pairs ds existed
most the ones we see in videos are real
the fake ones dont have the same quality or even close to one that looks a bit legit
theres only a couple batches in the reps market and thzy both look horrible
the one that is rlly FAKE is the "sample" that got red and green splatter instead of blood splatter
those got a rlly accurate reps batch out there
Nightmare on Hype Street
You know damn well stores didn't send all their stock back to be destroyed. If I was manager I would told Nike sorry we sold em all already. 🤷♂️
Yeah that’s a fair comment tbh although if you want to keep your Nike account you tend to do what they say
@@sneakernomics5547well if they are already sold how can you do what they want🤦♂️😂 Nike is huge they aren’t gonna stop giving to skate shops.
Do a collab w trippin plz
