Lanzarote Cactus Garden (Jardín de Cactus)

The garden has around ten thousand specimens of cactus, with around four hundred species. They were sourced from all over the world, with a particular focus on plants from the Americas. The garden was created in 1991, the last project of the artist César Manrique. It is situated in an old quarry near the village of Guatiza where volcanic ash was extracted to spread on cultivated areas of the island to retain moisture.
