STRANGE NON STANDARD GAUGE ! A bit strange to pick a "non standard" gauge such as 9 inch. Which means all the rolling stock has to scaled to meet this odd gauge ! Normally such railways (across the World) use 5 inch, 7.25 inch or 10.25 inch. For which a lot of engineering parts such as wheels, axles and even boilers are commercially available, from companies like "Severn Lamb" ! The next step up, being 15inch gauge like the 14 mile long Romney Hythe & Dymchurch Railway in Kent. But at this scale you'll now pay somewhere in the region of £1.25 Million for a new steam locomotive !!!
Yes there used to a few private ones dotted around the UK particularly on estates and they've slow disappeared apart from one called Torry Hill they have some impressive stock and gradients that are good, there's a few videos on here 👍🏻
Thank you so much for visiting again, we had a great day!
Definitely, will be back in the new year!
