All performances in Aimi's second stage are at the highest level, simply outstanding
Beautiful melody, suddenly intense tone, delicate pianissimo. It's a wonderful performance that shows Chopin's feelings.
Certainly one of my very favorite performances from the entire competition! Extraordinary!!!!!!!!!!!
Absolutelly brilliant coda. The performance as whole is undoubtfully at the level of 1st prize winner.
Queen!!!
That was really expressive.. Congrats Aimi :)
Bravo Aimi!!! 😭😭😭 So perfect and emotional

She's a great inspiration to me ❤❤❤
Thank you 🎼
just wow
Ta ballada to istne arcydzieło. To moja trzecia ulubiona ballada autorstwa Fryderyka Chopina
This girl is AMAZING!!!!!
B R A W O !!!
I liked the rubato in the coda 😊
She rushed it a bit right after 6:41 . If she could have held just another beat or two, it would have made a difference.
Ballade op. 38, first part: look at her fingers, like a spider, searching legato...
See if you can find Tohru in the audience
Quick add-on: Someone below wrote, 'Too fast and not enough warmth' citing Zimmerman as an example of how this should be played. Wrong, there is plenty of warmth in this rendition and it is clearly NOT too fast. If this is lacking in *warmth* then so is Horowitz' early interpretation which virtually every music critic agrees is a benchmark rendition. Zimmerman melodramatizes everything Chopin and simply is not a top-level pianist (not even close), so if you're accustomed to that 'over-romanticization,' then anything less will seem *cold* to you (you, of course, would be in error). This is a truly excellent interpretation, not perfect, but clearly excellent. Chopin would approve - and so would VH.
Re "cold" I think the room, floor, the micing, the sound of the instrument is a part of this, in other words, the recording technique, possibly the physical stage construction. The recording is a little hard to listen to, and I do not mean the playing.
Honestly how can you not consider Zimerman a top level pianist?
I humbly apologize for my error re: Horowitz, who never recorded the 2nd Ballade (thinking 3rd Ballade which he did - a benchmark of excellence. A fool's mistake - mine;-).
One of the best interpretations of the Ballade in F (better than Wang). Clean, slightly mechanical but truly excellent on balance. Oddly, she swings and misses completely on the Polonaise Fantasie (a more difficult piece *to* interpret, of course - the benchmark for that is Horowitz 1968 Carnegie Hall for those interested).
Beg to differ on the Polonaise Fantasie. I could listen to Aimi’s interpretation forever.
Too fast not enough warmth extremely technically gifted tho
What's a good tempo for you? Kobayashi clocks in around the same time as Zimerman, and approx 1/2 minute slower than Rubinstein. Also, what precisely do you mean by not enough love?
@@jellospeed a better word would be warmth, listen to zimerman or Katsaris play this
