These 40kWh LEAFs are now very affordable in the UK. Typically less than £9k. Range on a single charge - about 100 miles. With one charging stop - about 180 miles. If that's enough for you, and you don't do more than 100 miles per day often - and you can charge on AC at home or at work - they are a bargain.

    Best car review. Congratulations!
I owned the previous model leaf 30kw 2017. Great car, saved me lots of money and very reliable car. I only spent money on new tyres.
Sadly I have to sell it when I left the UK. Bought it with 30000£ and sold it after 3 years for 15000£ with 27000 miles

Had my 2017 40X (SV) for 20 months and love it. I always use E pedal and eco mode, as there is no point not too. On eco it only slows throttle response to initial pedal movement, making smooth driving easy, but still gives full power immediately if you stomp on it(love stop light sprints, but lost one last week by a bonnet length, to a mercedes S500). Mine's at 20,000 kms only still, but now 7 years old, is still at 92.4% soh, having only dropped 0.4% over that 20 months and 9000 kms. (And despite what some say, i always charge to 100%, and often get down to 5 -10% left, and is always parked outside in the sun and frosts). But i never fast charge which possibly helps (she has only had 23 from prior owners), with only charging cheaply at home (16 amp).
Propilot adaptive cruise occasionally gives issues, (steering assist unavailable, or drops off entirely with just dashes where speed setting should be) but have found dirty cameras are often the cause, and in winter fogged up camera housings on front and rear windscreens, and it comes right again once fogging clears.(you can always use normal non adaptive cruise mode anyway - just long hold propilot button until it changes mode)
Range imo is wildly optimistic, in my usage which is mostly 100kph rural, with some city, i can rely on getting 220 kms in summer, and 170 winter, much less again in strong headwinds.
But despite range issues, i always choose to drive her, unless going on a long trip , i bought a new 2020 astra rsv 1.6 turbo(200hp) for that, but still only has 6000 kms on it due to lack of need to use much. Will mention both have similar options, but i never use self parking on either, as its way to slow for my liking, and likely annoying to folk waiting for you to get out of the way.
I use adaptive cruise control everywhere in both, but prefer the astras cruise control though, as the leaf is constantly beeping when its cameras lose sight of or there are no or only one side lane marking, or extra wide apart, or very heavy rain or strong sunlight reflections blinding cameras temporarily etc etc a heck of a lot of times every drive in fact, unless on a well marked motorway, and it beeps again when it regains it, really stupid imo(dealers say it can not be programed out), and there is no need for as its not meant to be hands off driving anyway, (you are still expected to be paying full attention to your driving) whereas the holden astra is sensibly silent.(yes you can turn steering assistance/lane keeping off, if it's too annoying to you, and still keep adaptive cruise operation).
Leaf also has a factory drive recorder(behind mirror), which adds even more beeps, for all sorts of things it thinks are potentially an event, and again when recording finishes(even wipers chattering, road judders bars etc can trigger it). But no car is always perfect, and despite those frustrations, it's still great.

chademo cannot be called a quick charger any more. just call it 50kwh charger till the battery hits 80% fullness. besides this. I own a 2018X, best decision ever!
