Hi guys! I got SO many comments about the risk of developing skin allergies and contact dermatitis from touching this product bare handed. Since I posted this video, I learned so many new things about this condition and I urge you all to learn more about it as well when you can. I will always be in favor of whatever is safest. And right now, I am of the belief that *you should wear a glove when doing the technique I showed in the video.* The glove is better anyway because of no finger prints. Finally I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who took the time to warn me, show concern and share knowledge with me about this - especially over on ig, your input & opinions really put things into perspective for me! I am so sorry if I upset anyone, disappointed anyone or caused any uncomfortable feelings from my video. Thanks for always showing me grace and letting me learn from my mistakes. As I continue to learn more and evolve in this industry, I am sure this won't be my last mistake but I will always do my best to correct things and update my way of doing things. Finally Here's what Modelones had to say: Hi Femi, Thank you very much for your feedback. This product is our new product. Generally, nail products that require curing on the market contain HEMA to a greater or lesser extent. But don't worry, this small amount of hema won't make people sick. But more sensitive people might be allergic. These individuals may be allergic to all nail products, who need to use a glove when they do their nails. Hope my answer can solve your fan's question.
Thank you girl,it's never a big deal, folks who are concerned about a reaction would've more than likely put on a glove anyway,as always you did awesome 😎❤
The allergy can become a systemic one and would disqualify a person with HEMA allergies from using common dental or bone adhesives. Please also reconsider the practice of using gel polish in air brushes as the aerosolized gel polish contents (even "HEMA-free" varieties) open you up for the same type of allergies and your lungs are even less equipped to fend off the allergens than your skin. The molecule is very small so regular masks are not even effective protection, not to mention entry through the eye tissues. The Nail Hub and Light Elegance are both excellent resources for these warnings based upon science. 4.5mil thickness nitrile has been suggested while even double gloving if using acetone, alcohol with concentrated HEMA. Change gloves frequently. Thank you for your note warning people here. ❤
Certified Nail tech here, really glad to see you addressed the touching of the uncured gel in your comments. I cringed when I saw you pick it up. I am sad to see Modelones response to this because HEMA allergies can occur at any time and the more exposure you have the greater the risk of developing an allergy. As a nail product company I would expect more education from Modelones. Disappointed to see their response. No professional nail product brand would ever condone touching any uncured nail products to bare skin.
What I’m liking about this new solid system is the illusion of the acrylic nail look without the acrylic work! Secondly it’s multifunctional with less work to do on your nail beds?! I’m sold! Bye polygel drama lol 😂 good work femi 💅🏿💅🏿🧡🧡
Heyyy beautiful ❤ I LOVE LOVE LOVE Duck Nails!!! Girl!!!!! I got to just say, I'm soooo jelly of all your ENC stuff!!! Your desk especially!!! 😍 literal goals to one day be a BA with Max! ❤
I'm a big fan of duck nails 💅 I purchased some off of Amazon haven't used them yet. I have seen the new poly gels I might give them a try. Your nails look very cute 😍❤ I definitely have to buy Hello Kitty Charms 🥰
Hello, I hope I did not miss this info in the video, but is this real builder gel? What I mean is, it only comes off with filling and not acetone right? I am planning on buying builder gel to put under regular nail polish so my nails can grow out/prevent chipping. but if this builder gel comes off with acetone then I won't be able to change the nail polish without the builder gel being messed up underneath. I'm kinda new to gel nail polish and I haven't heard of anyone else doing this so idk if this is a bad idea or not. I wanted to hear your opinion on this if you have one. Thanks 😊
🫠 modelones’s response is disappointing and irresponsible. I just got contact dermatitis for the first time recently (using beetles) and learned sooo much about HEMA and other acrylates. They should definitely not be instructing people to touch gel 😭 that’s how people develop allergies. They act like you either have an allergy or you don’t. I just ordered a bunch of stuff from Light Elegance. Definitely staying away from brands like this from now on, safety first or whatever 😂

I love this duck shape. Beautiful design also 😍

Very cute, very pretty set!
Thank you! 🤗
Hey Femi💖💖 these look so cool🤩🤩 absolutely gorgeous set⭐️⭐️
I love using these gels but must wear gloves 🧤 you are handling product that can cause bad reactions to your skin x
This was sooo dope❤❤❤
Idk how safe this would be? Wouldn’t handling uncurled gel like this increase risk of HEMA allergies?
I was thinking the same thing
I will ask, I didn't think about it, good point!
I bet you can just wear gloves though right?
That’s exactly what I was thinking xx
It contains HEMA so definitely not a good idea!
Hey Femi! How are you? Miss you Boo! Cute set as ALWAYS ❤
I would like to know if it is easier to soak off or if you still need to file it off
I'm interested to know this as well, which us why I haven't tried it yet. I hate having to cut down, file and then soak. Pain in the ass. Lol
Just wondering if the fingerprints stayed?
