Agreed. As much as I liked General Vladimir's monologue in the original, I have a lot of trouble believing that the standard Soviet nuke could wipe out an entire city when, in game, its radius just matches one base (which itself doesn't even occupy much of the city)
To be fair, most of their men would have died in the assault and the Allies pulled EVERYTHING they had into destroying the Amplifier So even if Allied casualties were minimal in the assault, the Nuke ensures that they lose more men than the Soviets Besides, the Soviets can always make more (They have access to Cloning Tech after all)
That mission aggravated me enough to almost smash my monitor and I played on NORMAL. I wish there was an option to turn off that fling "Unit Lost" thing.
I got the feeling Yuri will activate psyco dominators in key areas, allowing the allies and soviets some time, before Yuri prepare his triumph card "The Mental Omega".
Lol I made this battle harder than it should be. I wasn’t expecting an ore deposit next to the hospital. So my army was running on fumes by the 20 min. mark. I had to micro them hard because every unit counts at that point. I did rush orange early with my navy, so I had less enemies to deal with. At first I tried the Air Force approach against the amplifier but having less resource I couldn’t build enough helicopters to tank the flak cannons. Edit: It sucked watching my brave units get wiped by that nuke. I stopped playing campaign for a while after. Lol
The U.S sent their main force to Chicago, but I found the U.S forces that are sent to stop the Beacon in St. Louis, is much larger compared to Chicago's.
This time, the nuclear strike actually happens. In the original version, if you didn't have the movies, the nuke silo is built, but Chicago is not nuked and it goes straight to the results screen, where they lie to you that it gets razed.
Additionally, as powerful as the standard soviet nuke is, I can't see it wiping out an entire city like in the cinematic in vanilla RA2. What I really like about the MIDAS strike is that it actually gives you a sense of scale in regard to its destructive power. A well-built base can shrug off a standard nuclear strike, but nothing survived the massive range and power of the MIDAS.
This mission was so intence.... i didnt know i could take out the Iron Curtain with the Aircraft Carriers and lauched a full scale assault on the ground and ''almost'' killed it but it was too late because i was out of funds and there were like 10 minutes left and lots of soviets standing on my way....... i won the 2nd time tho
Ghost P. 1. Save/Load function does not depend on Mentalmeisters, it is disabled by Ares development team due to issues with it. 2. Current version allows you to play skirmish without AI
Honestly, if anyone has trouble with the current version, Warhawks and Abrams tanks my friend. Those are the key to victory. Just, remember, always have Repair IFV's with your Abrams tanks, also. You should know where the Orange and Red base's psi corps troopers are, because they're a great counter to abrams.
Will you strengthen America a little bit? For now American army is so weak....... All of its weapons are lack of power... Warhawk can neither eliminate tank nor trooper effectly and it is not anti-air that I don't know where can I use it. Abrams as T3 tank is also not effective against any T3 weapon or troopers and easy to be damaged...... I like American so much when I was still playing YR and MO2.
Eric bulabulabula USA aint that bad. Warhawks are actually decent all kind of units, Abrams power lies in fact of their mobility & versatility (also they never miss their targets). However, there are confirmed buffs for this faction.
Alstar You have a point. Warhawk is similar to the venom craft in CC3 but it is still too weak, because it is fragile against any AA weapons and we have no way to repaire them. Its decent weapon is not enough against any kind of unit and can't fight against other aircrafts. Abrams does every will in front of any unit but is too weak as T3 tank...I am tired to draw the repairing ifv every second to recover it. As I said, Abrams should be a good T2 tank according to its performence and future tank, or some other tank powerful enough or strong enough to attract fire power is better to be USA T3 tank because it is good enough to protect its fragile partner. By the way, Abrams does miss the target when firing, that's my real experience. USA need some improvements
Alstar It has self heals? If that's the case it will be more useful. But about the new ability......It requires more than ten hits for Warhawk to activate it......thar's too slow, enemy tanks have traveled a long way in this period, possiblely had eliminated your miner or something. I would like it if it takes less hit number to be acrivated
Desolators at the end be like :
"Don't mind me , just going for a walk"
Klaus-Myth Hunter They sounded like they came out of drillers 25:00. I wonder if Yuri has anything to do with this.
Klaus-Myth Hunter One of them will say " There goes the neighborhood!"
+Klaus-Myth Hunter lol
+ooo They did i saw the driller and i thought the same
+Klaus-Myth Hunter I guess he wasn't bluffing when he said the end was near.
"We miscalculated again."
Goddammit, Allied intelligence!
Nearly “good” as GDI’s INOPS and intel in general
“Tiberium is green!”
Of course, there's the surprisingly good intelligence in Act Two...
That nuke being shown in-game instead of cutscene blown my mind. really nice touch that shows it from different perspective. Amazing!
Agreed. As much as I liked General Vladimir's monologue in the original, I have a lot of trouble believing that the standard Soviet nuke could wipe out an entire city when, in game, its radius just matches one base (which itself doesn't even occupy much of the city)
@Tauno Tihane I just take that the Nukes in RA2 Were tactical nukes.
Timed missions are my least favourite type of missions
What the Soviets do at the end is the very definition of raging.
To be fair, most of their men would have died in the assault and the Allies pulled EVERYTHING they had into destroying the Amplifier
So even if Allied casualties were minimal in the assault, the Nuke ensures that they lose more men than the Soviets
Besides, the Soviets can always make more (They have access to Cloning Tech after all)
True, very true and tactical indeed.
I remembered in RA2 mission "Last Chance". There was a group of police cars attempt to fight the Soviets and then died quickly.
That mission aggravated me enough to almost smash my monitor and I played on NORMAL. I wish there was an option to turn off that fling "Unit Lost" thing.
Same. Exactly.
And no matter what you do, you lose anyway.
I got the feeling Yuri will activate psyco dominators in key areas, allowing the allies and soviets some time, before Yuri prepare his triumph card "The Mental Omega".
That's some Modern Warfare going on there.
So the Psychic Amplifier was Iron Curtained the entire time?
Todd Gobbett AFAIK it always was in this mission. Its making this mission a bit harder because you cant focus on amplifier from beginning :P
I could just imagine taking that land and building a base around it yet not being able to do anything about it xD It's a very nice challenge.
So you can get a 3rd carrier in the new revision?
The Ugly Barnacle Yes.
i can help you with the lag,it's easy to resolve it
could i get some help as well
I see the time limit was doubled. I think. But I remember it being less.

Most Saddest victory in MO ever
The U.S sent their main force to Chicago, but I found the U.S forces that are sent to stop the Beacon in St. Louis, is much larger compared to Chicago's.
Tanya was sent there.
i find that mission being one of the hardest for me in the campaign
how do you get the updated grachices for like the gun turrent and etc.
+jojo nakhil it's part of the beta revision 2, which isn't released yet.
+Arexsis thanks for informing me

@@quentincoetzee4313 it'd be nice if they updated the animation to show a bigger mushroom cloud.
what is that thing the war hawks doing ?
Khalil Khammash It's using a small Target Painter of its own.
so that's why I suck at this mission... the way you use hotkeys are really good.
That nuke though.
Will you be able to save/load games in the upcoming version? And will you be able to play skirmish matches without any AI, just by yourself?
Ghost P.
1. Save/Load function does not depend on Mentalmeisters, it is disabled by Ares development team due to issues with it.
2. Current version allows you to play skirmish without AI
Oh my god that was brutal
waw that ending was nice
does warhawk can be able to attack anti-air ?
The version I played has an iron curtain protecting it, I must destroy the iron curtain first... i failed every time
Dude how high is your actions per minute ?
Why my planes cant kill Psychic Amplifier?
how Soviet had a Driller?
25:00: "Mission accomplished?" MISSION ACCOMPLISHED?!?!?!

Holy fuck that nuke at the end. I'm afraid my game will crash

I can't enjoy the mission, it's too damn hard...

Alstar Sorry for some wrong words. By the way, price is a problem for warhawk comparing to venom craft
Warhawk is receiving couple of buffs, starting from self heals to new ability (which is shown in this mission) ending.
