The lyrics are supposed to be enticing, but it is also supposed to portray how religion tells you that you are corrupt and a sinner.
Basically it highlights the fear factor within religion.

I love how they had the boy sing to the girl whilst holding her hand. Tobias does that live and its sick that they incorporated that into the video.

@@krystalharwood6359 i think it's meant to be a little creepy but in a theatrical way, i've seen he always holds eye contact when he starts getting close to that part and approaches slowly and waits for the audience member to nod or something before he takes their hand. it's cool to me that he's interacting with the audience and probably making their whole night by doing something like that with them
Ghost will forever be bittersweet for me now. Saw them the same night my dad passed away. Me and my nephew had tickets to see them for months, so we originally thought of not going, but my Dad was the kind of guy who wouldn't want people to drop their lives and mourn him. In the end was for the best, was a good way to take my mind off of things. And it ended up being one of the best shows i've been too. They played for 2 and half hours straight, only taking a 15 minute break. No opening act, or anything. They basically played their entire discography.

My grandfather told my dad to not plan anything special for him as it was just how life goes. He got called a dick for it quite a bit, but he followed his father's wishes.
We had a kid on our hockey team whose mother passed away the day before the state championship. People called him a dick for playing and not going home. He scored 2 goals and picked up an assist and got the tournament MVP award, and said his mother would've wanted him to do it. We were fueled by his drive to win for his mom, and those same people that called him a dick were trying to praise him after that like they didn't say he was before the game.

Ghost is playing on one of the oldest tricks of hard rock- satanism. Many bands have been accused of this over the years, Metalica, Ozzy Osborne, ect. Ghost is just bringing it back in a new way. It is the morbid curiosity that is the attraction. Props to their showmanship. I don't really believe they are satanic, but it got Moms all excited. LOL

In LaVeyan Satanism, Satan isn't a literal entity. He's more of a symbol of liberation and self-determination, so the lyrics seem to be saying, "nobody knows you better than you know yourself". You're complete when you accept your faults, or something like that. That's just my interpretation though.

Ghost's theme is not actual LeVeyan satanism. Their lyrics and theme are all biblical satanism. The lyrics in Cirice are basically the devil describing why people should join him, using rhetoric found in the bible. Another example is the song From the Pinnacle to the Pit. That song is about the rise and fall of Lucifer, a story from the bible.
"Lucifer" only refers to King Nebuchadnezzar. Well, in the Latin Vulgate, it, luciferos, also referred to Jesus in 2nd Peter 1:19, which is how it even got in King Jimmy's mistranslation. Isaiah 14 literally refers to the perfectly mortal king dying and how his grave would be desecrated. There's no more "story", just a bizarrely hyped sneer.

I discovered Ghost a couple months ago, I was raised Catholic and honestly that religion made me VERY depressed due to the expectations and forced beliefs by the church. Discovering Ghost opened my mind and Cirice made me feel like I’m not alone in this fight of life. I am now a Theistic Satanist and enjoying life and actually feeling valuable more than ever!

Ghost is a pretty hard sell to me too. Cirice, Square Hammer, Pinnacle to the Pit, and surprisingly most of the stuff of their new album (Prequelle) are most of the things I'll listen to from them.

This was the first song that really caught me in Ghost's grasp honestly, their new album is FANTASTIC. I have no other words for it honestly, between Rats, Faith and Life Eternal alone I was absolutely hooked and I blast it in my car wherever I go. Tobias is a musical genius as far as I'm concerned, I found them on some Metal music channel when I was staying over at an ex-girlfriend's house and I remember that Cirice came on after Black Honey by Thrice.
