- It was an interesting experience... The lobby was mixed of gold, plat, diamonds and 1-2 gm players. I hit gm1 after a few games as well so my mmr was top 500.

I think because you're in like the top 500, they probably "fixed" match making because they wanted to eliminate long queue times. So, instead of waiting for a fair match, they will just pair you into the highest available ranked match. There is only so many people in high ranks like masters and GM so you would be waiting a long time to find players of that skill all the time and cant expect the top 1k players to be playing everyday.
I heard its like they pair you with similar ranked role players. So that Marytr guy was probably similar in rank and the mirror to kenzo, but ur healers could be gold and their healers will be gold.
@@ygs497 sometimes they just say fuck it and put a plat in a silver team vs a gold team and expect the plat to make up the difference

On top of OW2 ranked is so bad that barely anyone outside pro/steamers wanna play the game, so even less people in high ranks.

The way the new update read, and I understood, was that the individual role's rank will be matched with the enemy's teams. For example, both your team and the enemy team DPs are plat, both your supports rank could be diamond and both tanks could be bronze.
They didn't state if your Hidden MMR rank is taken into consideration, but that's how I understood it.

ive been having so many lobbies like this recently, season 3 really messed up the matchmaking because im constantly in low plat games when im gm5
I think it started in season 2 more so :') being gold and having top 500 players in the lobby is fun
i havent encountered any of these lobbies yet im also in gm3 rn and masters players were the lowest i got
maybe it has to do something with region and the time you are playing?

@ccc_showcase i couldn’t check the Diamonds profile so that’s very possible but the GM was GM in their current role

I read some of the comments theories on why he was in that gold match and I agree with almost all of them. But the mirroring role ranks where you could have two gm dps on diff teams and then two gold tanks is really really bad for the game. In the long run that can’t be sustainable. I understand it would cost queue times for the higher ranked players, but gm players shouldn’t expect lower rank teammates in their competitive matches, the same way lower level players shouldn’t expect to try and play at the speed of their teammates who could be 4 whole ranks higher than them. Theyre going to struggle and unless theyre getting carried, they’re not going to have a lot of fun. They’re especially not going to learn from that experience either

I am Diamond and got put against GM players and the mechanics wasn’t like to different but the comms and coordination he gave to his team was nuts. I had a gm sombra on my team and the call outs were nice

This shit keeps happening to me too, but unfortunately IM THE GOLD PLAYERS. My friend and I keep getting put up against Grandmasters/Masters in our Gold matches. The highest Ive ever been is Plat 5, Current and Steady at Gold 1. But I'm consistently seeing far higher players in my games.
We just wanna have fun and actually get to play but nah. We get to play respawn simulator against the Masters Ana with their Grandmaster Widowmaker
best part about resets is that i occasionally get lobbies where people say "the only counter to mercy pocket is a mercy pocket" or "genji tracer widow dont have enough dmg, you should go bastion junk" "i cant do anything they have tank busters" meanwhile peaking the bastion in turret form. Low elo is a fun place
The matchmaking, to cut down on queues, weighs more to balancing each role than each team. Its a gm dps vs gm dps and while your teammate is gold, there is an enemy of the same role who is also gold. I was playing in a plat lobby and we had a bronze teammate. Its just how they are cutting down queue times.
so basically ow2 player base has shrunk so much that blizzard have been forced to rework the mm system in order to keep the q time short.
@@gipszjakab9714 No.. There isnt enough high elo players so they fucked with the que system. Overwatch 1 in its prime time peak had the problem of very long que times for ranked and OW2 has the same if not more players yet they screwed with the matching

I’m currently GM4 and I’ve only been in one GM lobby since the season started. The rest were masters and below, with the majority being diamond.

This hasnt happened to ke yet thank god, but the reverse is like every game, im a ball main and its so annoying cuz every game theres like a diamond dps on both teams and after they do ass there team makes them go cancer like sombra or torb or sum ahah, so now theyre in every one of my games
they haven't fixed the match making, still sucks. my team 6 to 11 kills, enemy team 30 to 40 kills, then swapped next game. Fun?

What is the best hero and why widowmaker?
I'm telling you there is something wrong with matchmaking, something very wrong. Generally the rank system I think broke more after last patch. I finished D5 which I managed to climb after playing all season with many drops and ups. After the new season I reached D1 in 2 days, this can't be right. The games don't feel like D1 either, some very bad players in there or some insane ones that bare the 'Grandmaster Challenger' title. Very weird games and it feels weird to get from low diamond to nearly masters in 2 days, unless I deserve to be there but the previous matchmaking was broken.

Matchmaking is currently a complete shitshow. Being plat yet playing against Master, GMs and even Top 500 players is little frustrating, but how are they even that high ranked. Im not even getting rolled. Biggest problem for me when dueling anyone is mercy pocket. Ofcourse I lose more when enemy dps is Ashe/soldier/cass main with double the hours on that one hero than what I have on the whole game

Kenzo, I’m a widow main sadly only in gold cuz I haven’t played much of ranked, but whenever I play widow I usually get an average of 3 kills per life, yet my team still complains about my “damage” being low even though I have all the picks. Is there something I should be doing different?
Not kenzo but I'll say keep playing with widowmaker and just have fun with her.
