Kiwi - The AMX you saw was an American Motors Corporation "Spirit AMX" . After AMC abandoned making the Javelin platform, they produced the AMX using the Hornet platform for one year (1977), then downsized to the Spirit platform which was a reworked Gremlin. The only V-8's available were the gagged-down 304 cid smog motors. Like Pontiacs, AMC motors are all the same externally, so any size AMC V-8 could be easily swapped in. More sizzle than steak, but still cool looking vehicles.
About your desire for a roof rack for Marge : My brother just completed a 1968 Buick Sportwagon he yanked out of a Nevada junk yard. Solid car, but not much left after being cherry-picked. He fashioned a roof rack out of chrome boat railing pieces he bought at a marine supply house. Looks great and very authentic and no one can tell till he tells them about it. Think about it!

For positive displacement blowers, the uppers need to have progressively smaller diameter pulleys to pass the lower pressure, higher volume air. You could stack 100 of them this way and the effect is still the same as just one.

Fantastic, mate! Some gems in that one - the ol' Caddy being one of my top favourites. Doesn't look like they have the 100mm minimum height rule over there, eh? LOL! That AMX beast really appeals to me also. Looks a lot like an LX Torana liftback from the side, but that nosecone with the quad of rectangle lights and the sea of plastic....just.........no.
Between you and me, I prefer something I can drive and not worry so much about the paintwork, so something that has to be trailered to and from a show just isn't something that spins my wheels or will ever own. I can appreciate the work gone into them and someone's passion for the vision they had when building it, but to see something like the Caddy - a totally unique and rare vehicle in its condition - out being driven and enjoyed, is much more a heart-wrencher for me. Even the '54 Chev Bel Air with the disguised LS in situ would be right up my alley. Large Marge fit right in there, mate. Bet she enjoyed her day out as much as you did! All the best.

Good video Kiwi. I like the car shows that aren't filled with mega dollar cars that someone
had built for them. So many of the people that own those cars have never even turned a wrench
on them, and the only time they get driven is on and off the trailer...
Anyone with money can have an award winning car, but I would rather see a car that someone
built as much of as they could themselves, even if it does have some flaws. I've done enough cars
over the years that I can appreciate the time and frustration that goes into building a car.
I do everything myself, except the interior. I've never tried doing it and I don't have any desire to
start now. I'm sure I could do it, but honestly it would be a waste of good material...

50s and 60s Cadillacs are my favorite cars of all time. I love many, many other designs from other makers and eras, but these are the cars that got me into classics, and remain my favorite to this day. Doesn't matter the year, the bodystyle, or really even the color- they all have a great presence to them, great styling, and represent a bygone era when GM was making quality cars that actually had some prestige.

That blue hatchback is a amc spirit amx proudly made in Kenosha Wi. Yes the flares are factory . The spirit amx were made from 1979 to 1980 but the 304 v8 was only a option for 1979. The spirit name continued to 1983 with the spirit g.t., the DL model or the base model. It came with either a four cinder iron Duke g.m. or the 4.2 L straight 6 from 1980 to 1983.It was the only American made car to complete it the 1979 24 hour Nuremberg race finishing first and second in it's class and I think it was 24th and 25th over all. It would hit 140 mph on the straightaways and probably would have finished higher but both cars amc sent had extreme brake fade. I built a 1983 spirit gt in my shop class way back in 2003, and my father has a 1981 Spirit g.t. painted big bad orange. His has a manual quick ratio steering box, manual brakes, and a four speed witha non hydraulic linkage clutch assembly. Although it only has the straight six it can boogie. Sorry I'm kind of a Amc nerd. Thanks for showing that sweet spirit amx!!!!

About that 58 Chevy with three blowers, I'll bet two of them are hollow, an old car show trick, I don't know, maybe I'm wrong. What a waste of a nice 1958 Chevrolet.
Good luck on the fire truck, can't wait to hear how it goes 👍

Hmm, good question, I don't normally name a car but Marge grew out of the "Kiwis big adventure" videos and the Pee Wee's big adventure movie .....

Would I be banned from the channel if I suggest to fill the wagon with batteries
put a 300 hp DC electric motor in the front…..
Basically Turn Marge into a showboat for resto modding to EV?
I wonder If you contacted the right suppliers, you could even get sponsorship….??!!
    ie - free stuff…….!!!

I've always been a minimalist.... If a 'car' isn't capable of being driven on a 1,000 road trip reliably, then I have ZERO interest in it. Show cars are not for 'Real Car' people.
