Before the New Testament we had dualities not Trinities as the concept of one God , when God speaks to Moses He speaks to Him in the nature and thru the Angel Abbadan (Rev).
In the Jewish Orthodox Bible in the book of Yochanan (john)1:14 - it is written...and the Word came to dwell in a bodily tabernacle (in the Greek, in a tabernacle of flesh)

It's 3 persons because the Holy Spirit has it's own Character as do the Father and the Son. The Holy Spirit comes from both the Father and the Son. John 14, 15 and 16. Spirit and Breath are synonymous : Breath in the Old Testament, Spirit in the New Testament. God blew the breath of life into Adam, Christ breath the Holy Spirit unto His Disciples. Adam living soul , Christ quickened-quickening Spirit. Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
