I totally agree with how you describe their voices. They compliment each other so well and none of them are the same, so they don't over step or over power each other. When one comes up the other backs off and they know how to do this so well, and when there are 2 belting it out they are so good not to over power one another. It is something that is not very common in groups (this is just from what I have heard myself). Their dynamic is something else and it is why their music sounds so good. 💜
Title tracks and their MV's get the glory, but BTS' b-sides are the epitome of excellence. For many of us, the b-sides end up being our favorite songs.
Same I don’t like rap at all but with bts I really love it and i think it has to do with other rappers having lyrics about all that bad stuff and then bts lyrics are so wholesome
I love that you really appreciated the choreography. "Butterfly," was choreographed by Brian Puspos, who was (is?) Jimin's favourite choreographer & the same person who did the choreo for Jimin's, "Serendipity," and Jungkook's, "My Time." His style is near-perfect for Jimin; lyrical & expressive + the R&B sensibility that's DEEPLY influenced by Michael Jackson. I'd been paying occasional attention to BTS since about 2014, but "Butterfly," was the song that made me really sit up & take notice.
Brian said Jimin made the choreo better. If you look at Brian dancing, he has the moves but not Jimin's grace and floaty feeling. That is totally Jimin and not from Brian.
I believe this performance was choreographed by Brian Puspos who also did the choreo for Jimin when he performs seredicity. Both are absolutely beautiful.
BTS has the most amazing vocals and V is my most favorite! Only BTS could perform their music and express the message perfectly! BTS are the greatest performers alive! BTS is the best! There’s nothing like BTS!
I do believe this song is about losing someone through suicide and it hits the feels every single time I hear it. It's such an absolutely beautiful song. I also really liked how you described the members vocal styles (especially Suga) and paid close attention to the dance as well. I truly agree with your description of Sugas rap style, if you listen to First Love you can really hear the crying in his voice. I also think he includes a lot of ...I dont know what the name is but I'm going to call it breath play, he has a way of putting in breath sounds on purpose to add that crying element or breathlessness from feelings. You can always tell that his lyrics are straight from him and he puts so much emotion in
That is an interesting personal interpretation of the song, but the official meaning behind the song is about youth and growing up. It's not about a person, but more about memories and a feeling.
Jin mostly sings high on most songs, so does JK. That rich baritone, of course in Dionysus prechorus... [Drink it up (the pain of creation). ] with J-hope is low but rich.
What a great reaction! You noticed the choreo. This song never fails to get me emotional. BTS are great interpreters of their songs wit their voices, facial expressions and body language.
There was a time when butterfly was my favorite bts song. I have since found other songs I connect with more but I still love this song so much! It’s so dang beautiful!!🦋
Make sure to listen to the “epilogue: young forever” It is a tearfully beautiful song along with “ prolog: butterfly” “Epilogue Young Forever “ is a song that ends a chapter of youth in the story that began with “I Need You.”
Yes! Young Forever also has an Unplugged version that I like even more ua-cam.com/video/8MaxRjdFH1g/v-deo.html... the guitar is so simple and satisfying.
I have noticed their dances for Japan have a very different feel, more lyrical, beautiful and more unified, soft footwork. Simply beautiful. Another example is "For You".
This is a personal fav that most reactors seem to overlook. There is one other MDC performance of this where the camera angles shows the choreo a bit better, plus they don’t use handheld mics so they can really showcase the hand movements. It’s really amazing if u get a chance to watch it as well
I love this song💜 i like the reaction videos from bts. you understood their music, emotionally, melodically and the background. you are really personable, keep it up. you are now part of the army;) greetings from Germany :)
This is one of my favorites and like so many BTS songs it is beautiful and emotionally heart breaking at the same time. It's in essence about caring about someone who is self destructive/broken/suicidal and being helpless to protect/help/fix them. Thank you for appreciating BTS as true artists.
Out of all of their songs, Butterfly is my ultimate favorite. Thank you for reviewing it. I wish they performed it more when in concert or during Festa.
So I went out and bought the AKG headphones and WOW I am smiling ear to ear previously just listened on my iPhone or iPad. Thanks , love this song even more if possible. Now relistening to all my BTS songs.🥳🥳🥳🇨🇦
I love this performance, it's like their dance isn't just dance, they use it to express the emotion of the song and to tell the story through their movement. It's beautiful. Only BTS. I haven't seen another K Pop group do what they do.💜
Butterfly was the first song I ever heard from BTS. One of my friends at the time was really into kpop (mostly SHINee lol), it was the beginning of 2016 and she had started to follow BTS more and wanted me to check this song out. I remember just listening to it through headphones with my eyes closed and I fell into a trance, and the moment when Jimin and Jk harmonize and hit that highnote I burst into tears. I fell in love HARD! I've been an Army ever since 💜 This song will always hold a special place in my heart.
Butterfly is so pretty and so interesting to consider they have other songs as well that refer to wings and their lyrics refer to Army lifting them up and helping them spread thier wings... i like how a lot if not most of thier songs always turn back around to army and how much they appreciate thier fanbase... and knowing they wouldn't be where they are today without them...
Fun fact: This dance choreo was done by Brian Puspos, a choreographer and dancer that all of them, but especially Jimin has really admired. Brian revealed recently that he only knew who he was choreographing for a year after he did. He was approached by their label, given the music, but was not told who they were. He stumbled upon a video of them dancing to it a year later, and only discovered it then :D
They have almost 300+ songs. When I first found them I listened most of their b sides. I used yt fan compilation of BTS soft and chill songs. You will be surprised how awesome their discography. Learn to stream now. Love your reactions
Thanks for reacting to the first song I truly fell in love with from BTS (don't get mre wrong, love all their songs). The lyrics of Butterfly always hit me hard. Love the choreography so much. It would be so nice to see them perform this one in the future just one more time (or I can just dream about that lol).
I love how you describe Suga's and RM's rap voices, definitely nailed what I think and feel about their music and why I love them. And also your description of the other members' voices. Definitely the reason why I cannot pick a bias, I stan all of them. I am 44 years old and I don't think a lot of my friends would not understand my fascination and love of rap, their music and this group, but they really come to you when you need them or when you did not know that they are what you need. Enjoy your BTS journey.💜
It's a live MV and even if it's simple yet is beautiful this simplicity of the live MV made it so charming. It does not have official MV yet it has some MV ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
Still at 4:03 but I wanted to comment to say that there is a sort of MV for Butterfly. It was filmed for SBS The Show and I think it was special edition or something like that. Here is one of the many links you can find for this ----> ua-cam.com/video/INeDdHLp6Q4/v-deo.html
They are sweating because they’ve been performing songs at this concert that have lots of choreography and not because it’s hot. The fact that they are able to perform these songs in a row is incredible. Their concert last month they started with the song ON and then did Fire which both have hard choreography and then continued to sing and dance for 2 plus hours straight. Incredible
Hi, I do agree with you that BTS have a lot of songs (b sides) that I wished had music videos. Keep on enjoying yourself. Warm greetings from The Netherlands 👍💜🍀🤘🇱🇺🌷🤗
Thank you for getting to and appreciating my favorite BTS song! Did you catch RM's "or are you my Kafka on the shore" literary reference? In one interview he also said this is his favorite song.
T/W self-harm, sui**de While this song ties into the storyline, many people also take it as a stand-alone song for someone who is facing issues of self-harm and sui**de. Especially because the butterfly is associated heavily with projects for self-harm. Of course, this analysis would also work for the storyline in the future videos you are yet to explore.
That's an interesting personal interpretation. However, the purpose of the song and meaning behind it is about youth and growing up. It's more about a feeling and memories, than a person.
I'm happy that you noticed the beautiful and meaningful choreography. Remember what Suga said about Kpop (even if we know that BTS is larger than that) : it's a integrate content, not only music, lyrics, visual, but also choregraphy. And BTS really use the dance move to express or emphatized the meaning of the lyrics. It's particularly clear in Butterfly, Baepsae, I need U, Save Me/I'm fine, Black Swan , Fake Love, PTD , and a lot of solo (Serendipity, Lie, Singularity etc). Butterfly and Serendipity (and My Time) have the same choregraph, Brian Puspos. Jimin like his choreo, and he had done a beautiful (and sensual) cover of Own It in BTS Begin in 2015, and also with Jungkook (the dance practice is on YT) , et Brian Puspos always praised Jimin's dancing ability, and the way he always incorporates the right emotion, the desired energy, perfect technique , making it look easy. And for the rap line, I agree. Very différent voices , and flow, their characters come throught their way of raping. JHope always make me emotional.
"Suga's voice is always so raw it's like an open wound." What a great analogy~ 💜
I totally agree with how you describe their voices. They compliment each other so well and none of them are the same, so they don't over step or over power each other. So true.
absolutely.
They are all sweaty because they have already gone hard with crazy choreo and then they have to try to sing this song.
This song calms me down like nothing else man. It helps me process my emotions so much.
One of the greatest songs by BTS, I love it 🌹
“How does this song Not have a music video” S A M E
Not a fan of rap but when BTS does it, I’m in awe.
Same
That's me too. I only love rap because of them
Same I don’t like rap at all but with bts I really love it and i think it has to do with other rappers having lyrics about all that bad stuff and then bts lyrics are so wholesome
@@kayla-the-rus-female-tbk-killr Yes, plus you can feel the passion and the emotions behind each verse.

There is another performance at an award show where Jimin has a solo to Butterfly. A must watch.
Oh yeah and then they go into that really cool "jjeoro!" performance...
Butterfly is one of my absolute favorites and Brian Puspos is so great with expressive choreography.
love the song and the choreo esp jimin' high notes...he's pretty! lovettt 💜💜💜
So beautiful! 💜
Jin mostly sings high on most songs, so does JK. That rich baritone, of course in Dionysus prechorus... [Drink it up (the pain of creation). ] with J-hope is low but rich.

"For You", is that the one where they literally look like they're ballroom dancing around the stage? If it is, oh, it's such wonderful choreo.
Remains one of my fav. it's so soft, tender, fragile & beautiful.
Thanks for sharing
such a beautiful but sad song

THANK YOU!!!! My BTS fav song ever!
My ultimate favourite! love this song so much!
Beautiful performances from them all...love this song ❤
I love this song💜

BTS 7 Beautiful Singers/Dancers
Beautiful 😢😢
Out of all of their songs, Butterfly is my ultimate favorite. Thank you for reviewing it. I wish they performed it more when in concert or during Festa.
Every album of BTS is more amazing than I imagined.💜
There is an mv but yes their b sides are incredible. Suga’s voice hits me always. The blends of them all is perfect.
Butterfly is such a beautiful song. So glad you reacted to it. 💜
I often wonder how their b-sides can be better than most artist’s title tracks.
They are just perfect together

Jimin actually performed this solo during an award show and they kept the choreo to perform it for concerts etc.
He did not make this choreo.

Jimin~so beautiful 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
If I am correct this is in the middle of their Japan concert and they've been already sang and danced before this song, so they are sweaty.
Todos cantan hermoso pero Jin me puede su voz un placer

The songs from the HYYH era are so amazing. Butterfly is so timeless and beautiful. If you haven’t reacted to Hold me tight, please do so.
Jin only got six sentences, what a watse.
react to outro tear with the rap line its amazing !
You're not overthinking the choreo. A LOT of their choreo is representative of the lyrics/concept of the song... another example is Baepsae choreo.
One of RM’s nicknames is Mr President! 😁💜
