All Burley trailers apart from one, where the review comprises a spinning shot and no dialogue. Good job there's no bias.

Burley makes good stuff and charges plenty for it. Some of us find $350-400 for a bike trailer to be a bit much, so we get by with something like the Aosom for $149. I had one, carried 80+# in it regularly.

And you get what you pay for, less capacity, made of steel that will quickly rust out, and it's twice as heavy. I call that a false economy.

Nice compilation. Burley makes some great stuff. I'd also suggest looking into the Surly trailers, Bikesatwork, and Carla cargo for more heavy duty hauling.

I used a burley nomad in 2001 from san francisco to san diego it performed well but by the end of the trip it was starting to look worn and tired ..it still worked..however I felt one more journey of equal length would have killed it

Is it possible that a removable wheel can be used on a folding bike, such as a Birdy, Bike Friday, or similar folding bike?

I'm in Australia, single wheel trailers are better than 2 wheels I think, especially on roads. The CyclingDeal Bicycle Bike Single Wheel Cargo Trailer with Luggage Bag is also a good one.

Why only 70lbs carrying capacity? I suppose the company works out an average user, but I plan to travel through 83 countries and carrying camping equipment etc. Maybe this is more for in-town use on errands. It's a lot of work creating a video and thanks very much for making this!

I think it's mostly due to the structural integrity of a normal bicycle. The rear hub and bearings are not meant to withstand these loads. My dad has a BMW 1150RT (big touring motorcycle) and he had to change few parts because the previous owner was carrying his wife+trailer pretty often. So I'd guess is the same thing with bicycles but on a smaller scale.
At the same time 70 lb is still plenty. In the military that pretty much how heavy my backpack is with my sleeping gear, clothes, water, food and most importantly ammo. So unless you're from the USA, you can remove the ammo and the 70 pounds is a good limit.

@@Davmm96 Hi! Thank you very much for your informative reply! I forgot that with the one-wheeled CoHo XC you can use side bags over the rear wheel. They didn't say how many more pounds you can carry in the side bags, so maybe another 50 pounds so carrying capacity with side bags is 70 plus 50 or 120lbs? I want to use a one-wheeled trailer because Reise & Muller ebike company will not honor the warranty on their bikes if you use a 2 wheeled trailer. I'm thinking that must be for good reasons as they are a top quality ebike manufacturer.

@@Davmm96 Hi Dmezca! Thanks for your input! I had a rear wheel built. I commute by bike and excercise with the same bike, so I use it far more than most people. I was breaking too many spokes and all the time lost and cost messing with used wheels I decided to have one built. It came via FedEx, a 26 inch wheel for my 1998 Diamond Back mountain bike. The strange thing was I almost cut my finger on a rim of sharp as a knife edge all the way around the inner part of my "Cilffhanger" made in Florida, $84 rim. I emailed the builder and they said it was normal. I didn't want to make any issues so I later emailed the company and they said the builder is very good and they would go along with what the builder said. It was strange as I had hoped for a second opinion from the manufacturer. If I get a flat or once winter comes I put on a studded tire and wondering is with such a sharp edge it will be hard to get the clincher tire off the tubeless rim. I'm wondering if over the miles it's going to cut into the sidewalls. I'm only amateur and don't want to make any issues, but have you or any pro biker friend heard of a near razor sharp edge all the way around the inside of a rim?

The CoHo has been reported for safety issues. Evidently they jackknife really easy while going down hill and braking at the same time. Many have been hurt badly by these.

Hi Rob! I only got an estimate on getting a Reise and Muller ebike and they said if I use a 2 wheeled trailer they will not honor their warranty. I really wondered why. I think they only honor the warranty if you decide to use a one-wheeled trailer. Do one-wheeled trailers not jackknife as easily? I want to take years and ride all over the world, part of my last wishes, my "bucket list".

    • @rdkuless

@@mwj5368 I think the 2 wheeled trailers are more stable and are better on heavy loads.. Again there is a ratio of total weight to tongue weight that must be observed.. (i think Tongue needs to be 10% of total weight) so you need to arrange the groceries to appropriately .. If the weight is too much behind the trailer axle, the trailer will get out of control swaying..
Single wheel trailers are unique for narrow trails.. But they can certainly jackknife.. The Burley trailer with one wheel has multiple, negative reviews because many riders have been seriously injured when the trailer gets to swaying and jackknifes... I think it is best to load light and even front to back.. make sure the tongue weight is around 10% of total weight.. AND start of with light loads and build up when you know how your trailer is going to behave..
I have a similar bucket list.. I want to do a transcontinental tour on the Rails-to-Trails starting in north Idaho.. But unfortunately i'm quickly loosing my sight.. That will eventually end my biking.

Please re-title this video as it is obviously an ad for your products, rather than the 'best' cargo trailers.

[I posted the following verbatim (along with two other remarks) for a cargo trailer review video by the channel called "Review Folks". The remarks I posted below are precisely applicable here as well]
    Mildly interesting.
Not to say that any of the testimonies are untrue (or even "un-tru-ish")
However, the fact that the "reviews" are given by employees of each brand makes them hard to take seriously
Hence, they could be totally honest assessments, but their utter lack of criticism makes these reviews fairly useless to this person interested in buying a cargo trailer

Hi Jose! Now 5 months later, what trailer did you decide on? Also, do one wheeled trailers have a better safety record? I was considering a Reise and Muller ebike and they said if I used a 2 wheeled trailer they would not honor the warranty. I wonder if it's because of safety issues with jackknifing like another guy mentions here.
