I am literally crying listening to this. Walking to the corner shop, has become something that I rarely do. I work remotely and go into the office once a month, which is 1hr 45 mins away. Numerous times I have struggled to get there, faint, struggling to walk, needing to buy a suitcase twice, so that I can rest on the handle as I walk. And having to book a hotel to stay overnight because there is no way I can physically make the journey back. I take taxi's almost everywhere. I had to go from London to Reading recently and from London to Oxford and had to take a taxi to and from both because I physically couldn't do the commute. I have spoken to the Dr's so many times but they just fob me off, with blood tests that reveal nothing and the cycle starts over again. Thank you so much for sharing.
I'm cheering for you in those endeavors surrounding the care and keeping of a self! I'll also look forward to hearing about the work of living poets in your reviews! I grew up with the Complete Works of Robert Service and A Light in the Attic by Shel Silverstein only. So now i have it in my head that i need years to even become acquainted with anybody's poetry and a distinct lack of knowledge particularly around anything modern
I knew a family friend who has CFS, with other comorbidities. Hers was severe so it took over a decade to get better. It’s mild now. We’re from the US, so it was several years before she could even get a diagnosis. She kept being told it was in her head 🙄. Nutrition and rest had to be the center of her life. Anyone who tries to pressure you about anything can fuck off. I have chronic mental illnesses and it gets better and worse at different points. I don’t have much advice, cause I’m not really functioning well 😅 But regarding body image, mine has improved a lot by learning about body neutrality and internalize male-gaze. I pretty much didn’t exercise from 2020 until mid 2023. I started again in a yoga class taught by a friend, and swimming once in a while. Being in a career you love and that is self-directed will help you a lot! I’ve mostly hated my jobs, and it’s made my illnesses much worse. Lately I’ve been taking in less income just to have more energy to find a new direction for my career. Seeing people like you who enjoy their work is really inspiring for me. I know I’ll get there. I started therapy this year and my therapist has helped me so much! Wishing you all the best on this new journey! So glad to hear your channel is growing in reach! Get as much rest as you can. Life is very long, and you have so much time. ✨
Thank you so much for sharing. I'm definitely going to focus on nutrition for a while. I also appreciate you sharing your mental health journey. I hope this year is kind to you. X
Hey Josie! It's Bean (from secondary school). I'm so sorry to hear you've had such a rough time with your health lately. My partner's experienced something similar the past couple of years with post-covid fatigue: he used to be super active, and now gets super tired really easily, including brain fog/memory issues. Hoping it does indeed get better with time - it sounds like people are largely having to just work out how to move forward on their own. Wishing you all the best ❤️ and I look forward to reading your book! Congratulations!
Omg hey! It's so nice to see your name pop up. Yeah it feels like we're on our own at the mo. But I do like to think there are clever people doing clever things to learn more about the condition and how to get better. Good to hear from you 🩷🩷
Miss Mrs Ms Alford or whatever you choose. I have had long term mental and physical illnesses type2 diabetes since 2003 bi polar schizoid since 1993. Huemans are very adaptive to situations but it takes time patience and mistakes. I'm not sure of your orientation. But in my book Big is Beautiful.
I would like to introduce you to my alien headband. It's from Claire's. I bought it for a friend whose work was having an alien fancy dress party and he didn't want it! Names for this esteemed accessory is open for submissions.
Grand to have you back on the platform, Josie! 👌
Thanks pal 😊

Seeing a nutritionist was the best thing for my son and l. Love the eyeshadows★
Thanks for the recommendation! That might be a little outside of my budget for now but I will look into it

As someone who’s had CFS for around 2 years, I still struggle with the uncertainty!!! Having a good support circle is so important
Thanks for sharing pal. I'm lucky to have a wonderful support circle - we're all learning about it together. I will tag you in any comments I get!
this was such an interesting watch! I'm glad you shared this with us 🫶
Thank youuu x

A poetry book recommendation I have is Carol Anne Duffy: Rapture, touching and precious poems there.
Thanks pal! I haven't read that yet. I do love a bit of Duffy!
