In the beginning, it shows us the book, it is the story of "the little prince and the Fox", we usually read that story before bed when we are little or learnt it in school. Their concept usually apply to growing up and applying to realities (your life).
i recommend reading The Little Prince, it's short but so touching story full of methaphors on growing up and approaching the adult life... and about taking care of your inner child regardless of age :) Fox name is Tomorrow so it can be interpreted that way too, knowing that regardless of what happened new tomorrow always awaits for you. it's a message of hope :)
basically the fox's name is "tomorrow" and the fact that the fox tells them "i've never stopped waiting for you" means that tomorrow always awaits, the whole trailer is like the boys are growing up and forgetting where they're really from (their childhood, planet B612) and it switches from real life (boring part time jobs, the detective, adults not believing them) to neverland
